There was pandemonium on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital as police operatives dispersed a victory rally organised by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Governor Ayodele Fayose.
The rally according to the governor was a celebration in advance of the July 14 governorship election for his deputy and the PDP governorship flagbearer in the election, Prof. Eleka Olusola.

The rally however turned violent as police operatives allegedly teargas supporters at the government house where the governor also reportedly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
