UPU mourns Dafinone

The Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, has described the death of Chief David Dafinone, as a huge loss not only to Delta State and Nigeria, but the Urhobo Nation, in particular.
In a press statement by the President General of UPU, Olorogun Moses Taiga, the UPU described Chief Dafinone as a foremost Urhobo son, who bestrode the Nigerian professional, business and political space at various times for over 50 years.
The UPU recalled Chief Dafinone’s enormous contributions to the accounting profession, his many businesses, which provided 100s of jobs and his political exploits, which peaked when he represented the Urhobo Nation in the Nigerian Senate from 1979 to 1983.
The UPU also recalled how Chief Dafinone put the Urhobo Nation on the Guinness Book of Records with the recognition of Chief Dafinone and his five children for being the first family in history to produce the largest number chartered accountants in one family.
