The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has slammed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his loyalists for threatening the planned Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Wike and his loyalists, had raised a counter force against the party’s national convention, scheduled to hold in Ibadan on November 15-16.

This comes after leaders of the Eminent Leaders and Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP on Monday held a meeting in Abuja, where they called for fresh congresses in Ebonyi, Anambra, and Ekiti states to resolve ongoing disputes.

The communiqué from the meeting, presented by former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, emphasised that the party must prioritize fairness, inclusivity, and respect for judicial decisions as it approaches its national convention.

They cautioned that ignoring their resolutions could invalidate the upcoming convention and disenfranchise genuine party members.

The communique added, “We remain steadfast in our loyalty to the party and resolute in our determination to work with all organs and leaders of the PDP to ensure that the forthcoming National Convention becomes a watershed moment, a moment where unity triumphs over division, and justice prevails over impunity.”

Among those present at the meeting were Wike, PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, former governors Okezie Ikpeazu, Ayo Fayose, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, House Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda, former Governor Samuel Ortom, and several serving and former lawmakers.

Speaking on Tuesday at the Abuja national secretariat of the PDP, Bala Mohammed dared Wike to form a faction to disrupt scheduled activities of the opposition party.

He said: “If anybody wants to form a faction of fools, we will allow him. We are not cowards and we are not afraid of any person.

“We agree to consensus and accommodation, but that is not cowardice.

“We can’t keep quiet and allow people to continue to take us to the slaughter house or take us for granted. Enough is enough.”
