It was gathered that the Edo State Governor was not able to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari himself.

Obaseki, however, said he met with Ibrahim Gambari, Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President.

“I have officially resigned my membership of the All Progressives Congress (@OfficialAPCNg) after meeting with the CoS to @MBuhari.

“We shall continue the battle to protect the interest of Edo people and sustain good governance in the state,” Obaseki stated.

Recall that a screening committee of the APC had disqualified Obaseki from contesting the party’s gubernatorial primary billed to hold on June 22.

Following the disqualification, Obaseki started consultations with his supporters. He had said he would be making his next move known after he met with President Buhari.
