Patrick Obahiagbon dissociates from Buhari’s change mantra

Nigerian grammarian, politician cum legal practitioner, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon has dissociated himself from the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, literally saying ‘to hell with change’.

Obahiagbon, elected to the House of Representatives in 2007, began his political career in 1999, leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2010.

He is a de jure member of All Progressive Congress (APC) after the merger in 2013, and in November 2012, he replaced Osarodion Ogie as the Chief of Staff to Governor Adams Oshiomole.

Following the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the general elections in 2015, Obahiagbon commended the Buhari administration for “showing spartan discipline that was already yielding results”.

He recently also pleaded with APC state party members to be patient with newly elected Governor Godwin Obaseki.

But the narrative has suddenly changed as the former legislator today took to his Twitter handle to lambast the Buhari’s administration that is predicated on change.

“I think we should lay off that word ‘change’, it’s everyman and his pocket right now,” Mr. Obahiagbon tweeted in bemusement, most probably.

While some of his followers on Twitter did not take the tweet lightly, others just brushed it off for some jokes.

“But you are one of those that sold the dummy to us in the first place, so what has suddenly changed?” queried Tocci Amadi.

“Hope your tweeter handle ain’t hacked?” Davies said in expression of his disbelief about Obahiagbon’s new disposition on a government he would have died for.

“I can’t finish the laughter here, continue lol!!” is Alex Oluwatoyin’s response to the tweet, on a lighter note.

But a question that is begging for immediate answers is why Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon’s position on this administration he would have died for suddenly ‘changed’.

Victor Emorinken‏ feels he has been short changed.
