[Devotional] IN HIS PRESENCE: Do business till I come

[Devotional] IN HIS PRESENCE: Positioning for the new

Read: LUKE 19:11-27

Meditation verse:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name  of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all  things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the  end of the age” (Matt 28: 19-20).

Before His departure, Jesus commanded His followers to “do business till I  come”—to actively engage in Kingdom work until His return. He made it clear  that each one would one day give an account of their stewardship. As Matthew  24:46–51 warns, blessed is the servant whom the Master finds faithfully serving  at His coming. But the unfaithful, careless servant will face judgment.

In today’s parable, a nobleman entrusted his servants with resources and  instructed them to trade with it while he was away. On his return, those who  had been faithful were rewarded with rulership. But one servant, who hid his  talent and produced nothing, was condemned as wicked and unprofitable.

This parable is a mirror for us today. God has entrusted you with talents, time,  spiritual gifts, money, and influence. These are not for selfish use alone, but to  invest in Kingdom expansion—especially in the business of soul-winning.  Scripture declares, “He who wins souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).

Everywhere you go, in whatever you do, you are called to be a witness for Christ.  This is the Father’s heart, and this is your Kingdom assignment. Be faithful in the  business of the Kingdom, so that at Christ’s return, you will hear Him say: “Well  done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew  25:23).

Prayer for today:

Lord, help me to be faithful in the Kingdom business of soul winning. Teach me to use my time, talents, and resources for Your glory, so that when  You return, I may be found profitable in Your service. Amen.
