Read: Job 39:27-30
Meditation verse:
“But those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Eagles do not shy away from storms. Do you know how an eagle responds to one? It faces the direction of the storm, lifts its head high, spreads its wings, and rides the winds. Instead of being destroyed, the eagle is carried higher, rising above the storm.
Another striking feature of the eagle is its piercing vision. From high in the sky, it spots prey far below and, with precision, swoops down to seize it. Eagles also build their nests on high crags and rocky strongholds. Their young feed on blood, and wherever there is a carcass, there you will find the eagle.
The metaphor of “the eagle Christian” is clear in these characteristics. Like the eagle, a believer does not run from life’s storms but faces them with courage, mounting on the wings of prayer and faith, rising above adversity. The eagle Christian’s dwelling place is on the Rock—Jesus Christ—the sure foundation and eternal stronghold.
Colossians 3:2 reminds us: “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” As an eagle Christian, your vision is sharp and your focus clear—fixed on the advancement of God’s Kingdom. Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). And just as young eagles feed on blood, so too the eagle Christian raises their children under the covenant of Christ’s blood, pointing them to salvation and teaching them to walk in covenant truth.
So, the question is this: are you living as an eagle Christian—bold, focused, lifted, and established on the Rock? Why not ask God to make you an eagle Christian. To Help you rise above life’s storms, keep your vision fixed on His Kingdom, and lead your family, into the covenant of His blood.
