[Devotional] IN HIS PRESENCE: You will have what you say

Read: MARK 11:12-24

Meditation verse:

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” (Mark 11:23).

During His time on earth, Jesus was walking with His disciples one day and He became hungry. Seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” As they passed by the following day, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” So, Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says”.

You were created in the image of God. You carry the DNA of your heavenly Father. Through Christ, you have been given all authority and power on earth (Mathew 28:18). Jesus said you will do greater works than He did whilst on earth (John 14:12). Job 22:28 says, “you shall decree a thing and it shall be established for you. If the bible says you will have what you say, then the words that you speak matter. What are you saying? Be careful to speak only what you want to see happen in your life. Remember “death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21).
