Read: Mathew 6:5-8
Meditation verse:
“Therefore, do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him” – Mathew 6:8 (NKJV).
God knows your needs—before you utter a word in prayer, He already knows what is lacking, what is hidden, what is pressing, and even what is yet to come. More than that, He knows the needs you haven’t yet recognized yourself. Romans 8:26–27 reminds us that, “…the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Even when your words fail or your thoughts are unclear, God’s Spirit is already interceding for you according to His perfect will.
This divine knowing isn’t limited to material or financial needs. It extends to every dimension of your being—emotional, spiritual, mental, physical, and relational. He knows when your body is weary, and you need rest. He knows when your heart longs for peace, clarity, or wisdom. He knows the people you need in your life to fulfil your purpose. He knows the environment where you will flourish and the timing that is best for you. He knows when you need healing, comfort, strength, or silence. He knows the relationships that will nurture your growth, and the companions suited for your journey. He knows what to do about the very thing that’s troubling you right now. And He knows not just your needs for today, but those of tomorrow and the years ahead.
But God doesn’t just know your needs—He meets them.
“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” – Psalm 23:1
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” – 3 John 2
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:8
Above all, God has already provided for your greatest need—the salvation of your soul. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” – John 3:16–17
Why not turn to Him today and let Him meet that need first? He knows. He cares. He provides.
