Bundesliga: Bayern Munich makes U-turn, set to retain Tuchel as manager

German side, Bayern Munich are open to retaining Thomas Tuchel as manager, despite agreeing to leave at the end of the season, according to report on ESPN.

It would be recalled that the former Chelsea and PSG boss announced back in February, that he would leave the Bundesliga club this summer after Bayern churned out poor results consecutively.

However,  Bayern have been rejected by potential replacements including Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick.

This has led to the former German champions holding talks with Tuchel about the possibility of staying on.

Tuchel also have the backing of the fans to stay back at the German side.

Tuchel has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but he fears he might not get the job even if Erik ten Hag leaves.

He however remains open to holding formal talks with United if negotiations break down with Bayern and a vacancy comes up at Old Trafford.
