Chelsea loses out as Tottenham endorses Xavi Simons from Leipzig

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Spurs have reached a €60 million agreement with Leipzig for the Dutch international, beating London rivals Chelsea to his signature.

Both clubs had been pushing to secure the 21-year-old attacking midfielder this summer, but Tottenham have now won the race.

Deal done also on player side as €60m fixed fee has been agreed overnight as revealed, now all sealed.

All contracts 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 on both player and club sides on contract until June 2030 ➕ 2 year option until 2032.

Xavi has already completed main part of medical… and his move to Spurs is done, set to be announced today.

Spurs have been searching for a new attacking midfielder for months with their recruitment team failing in attempts to sign Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze.

Their need for a new player in that position has ramped up in recent weeks with James Maddison suffering an ACL injury that is likely to keep him out for most of the season.
