There were no further goals at the Emirates as Arsenal played within themselves.
The win takes them to 68 points, one more than Liverpool who welcome Sheffield United on Thursday night.
Arsenal’s next league fixture is away to Brighton in Saturday’s late kick-off.
Elsewhere, on the day Haaland and De Bruyne were rested, Phil Foden scored a hat-trick as the Premier League champions beat a top-five team for the first time this season.

Rodri opened the floodlight of goals for the home side when he scored in the 11th minute of the encounter but Duran levelled up for the visitors in the 20th minute, however, Foden’s hat trick ensured that City had the last laugh at Emirate.
City’s 4-1 win over Villa means they remain third with 67 points, level with Liverpool who host Sheffield United on Thursday.
