It is understood City will give the Spaniard space to make a final decision on his future.

The management in City wants the coach to sign a new contract and extend his deal but he has refused to do so, hinting at his exit at the end of next season.

In his eight year period at the Etihad, Guardiola has so far won 15 major trophies, including their first Champions League.

But the club’s hierarchy fear that Guardiola’s ninth year will represent the end.

Multiple sources within the industry and City have openly discussed the prospect of the 52-year-old’s impending departure over recent months.
