Liverpool today succumbed to the superior firepower of the Brighton and Hove Albion side today at the American Express Stadium.
After playing out a 0-0 scoreline in the first half, the Seagulls put on their thinking caps to annihilate the Liverpool side.
Upon resumption in the second half Brighton’s Solly March opened the scoring in the 46th and added his second in the 53rd minute.
Liverpool pressed for a goal later on but got caught on the counter as former Manchester United player, Danny Welbeck put the icing on the cake for the seagulls in the 81st minute to put the game beyond the Reds.
Meanwhile Brennan Johnson scored two second half goals for newly promoted Nothingham Forest side as they saw off struggling Leicester 2-0 at the City stadium.
Nottingham again climbed up to 15th on the table after only swimming out of relegation waters only last week when they defeated Wolves by 1-0.
Southampton grabbed their first win in many games when the defeated Everton 2-1 at the Goodison park
Everton Amadou Onana scored first in the 39th minute but Southampton Ward Prowse grabbed a brace to secure all three points for the Saints.
The result leaves Everton on 19 points from 18 games.
