The last game of the 2024-2025 season will be played on May 25, 2025, but there will be no match on Christmas Eve after backlash this season.
This will be the first time in a long while that the football fans will not go to the stadium to watch EPL games on the 24th of December.
All other leagues go on Xmas break except the English Premier League which is now trying to be adjusting.
“In keeping with previous commitments made to clubs to address the congested schedule across Christmas and New Year, arrangements will be made to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another match. There will be no fixture on 24 December 2024,” an official statement reads.
This year, Chelsea are away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, with manager Mauricio Pochettino expressing his frustration about playing on Christmas Eve.
