EPL: West Ham dim Arsenal’s title hopes

West Ham rallied back from two goals down to draw Arsenal at the London stadium on Sunday afternoon in a pulsating English Premier League clash.

Gabriel Jesus was fed with a lofty pass from Partey and the Brazillian wasted no time to tap in Arsenal’s first of the afternoon.

Martin Odegaard scored to put the visitors 2-0 up inside 10 minutes of the encounter.

However, the Hammers plotted a comeback in the encounter with a penalty goal in  34th Minute. Arsenal’s defender, Gabriel Magalhães, clipped Pacqueta’s leg and the resultant penalty was converted by Saad Benrahma.

Arsenal had an opportunity to finish up the game but Bukayo Saka missed a penalty in the 54th minute to ensure the scoreline remained at 2-1.

Meanwhile, West Ham completed the comeback in the 55th minute when Jarrod Bowen lashed on to a loose ball in flight and volleyed it past goalie Ramsdale for the home team’s equalizer.

Arsenal are still top with a four point cushion, though they’ve played a game more than Manchester City and must still go to the Etihad in 10 days’ time.

Manchester city trail by 4 points but with a game in hand.

It’s a big point for West Ham who stay 15th but open some breathing room between themselves at the drop.
