The Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) has said that the 2024/25 season will be run on a full- schedule format.
There were speculations that the NPFL was planning to adopt an abridged format for the new season due to financial challenges faced by some of the clubs.
However, the club owners have taken a decision to operate in a full format.
The last time when an abridged league was considered was in season 2022/23 where Enyimba won.
“I can confidently tell you that the 2024/25 NPFL season will be a full format and not an abridged one,” Rivers United General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu told reporters on day one of the NPFL annual general meeting in Lagos on Tuesday.
The new season has been tentatively fixed to start on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
