REVEALED: Nedved pushed Juve to sack Allegri before shock loss

Juventus chief Pavel Nedved wanted to sack coach Max Allegri on Friday, it has been revealed.

Corriere della Sera says in a board meeting on Friday, Nedved pushed for Allegri’s dismissal. Also attending were president Andrea Agnelli, director Federico Cherubini, and CEO Maurizio Arrivabene.

Nedved raised the prospect of dismissing Allegri, however, after doing their sums, both Agnelli and Arrivabene ruled out such a move.

At the end of the meeting at Continassa, it was decided with the budget looming, the €21m needed to pay off Allegri and his staff would be politically too troublesome.

Two days later, Juve were being beaten 1-0 at Monza.
