United, City to play community shield final at Wembley

FA Cup champions Manchester United will once again face off with closest rival Manchester City in next season’s Community shield.

The Community shield will hold a week before the beginning of the season in August.

The two rivals faced each other in Saturday’s FA Cup final, with the Red Devils winning 2-1 at Wembley.

TheNewsGuru.com reports that Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo gave United a two-goal lead in the first half but Jeremy Doku pulled one back late in the game, for what eventually became a consolation.

The win ensured Erik ten Hag finished the season with silverware.

The Community shield is always played between the FA Cup winner and the League champion.
