    UCL: Exciting fixtures as UEFA releases Champions League draws

    UEFA on Thursday, conducted the draws for season 2023/24 Champions League.

    A set of exciting games are ready to be played with Manchester United vs Bayern Munich and Real Madrid vs Napoli being the most high-profile clashes in the group stage.

    The Champions League final for the 2023-24 will be played on June 1st at the Wembley Stadium.

    UEFA has 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) in prize money for the rest of the competition. Each of the 32 gets a basic 15.64 million ($17.1 million) plus shares of a 600 million euros ($656 million) fund distributed according to clubs’ historic record in UEFA competitions.

    Top-ranked Real Madrid’s share will be about 36.4 million euros ($40 million) and about 1.14 million euros ($1.25 million) to the lowest-ranked team, Lens, which has not played in European football for 16 years.

    UEFA also will pay teams 2.8 million euros ($3.1 million) per win and 930,000 euros ($1 million) per draw in the group stage, escalating payments for advancing through each knockout round, plus a share of the TV money paid by rights holders in their home country.

    Group E: Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Celtic.

    Group F: Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Newcastle.

    Group G: Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys.

    Group H: Barcelona, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, Antwerp.

    2023/24 Season: Chelsea to face Liverpool, City to test Burnley in Premier League opener

    The English Premier League has released fixtures for the  next season 2023/2024 with champions Manchester City starting their title defence against Brighton  at Turf Moor on August 11.

    Recall that former City Captain, Vincent Kompany is the coach of Burnley and will be going head to head with former boss Pep Guardiola.

    The star match of the first week will be the fixture between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

    Elsewhere, Arsenal welcome Nottingham Forest (Saturday, August 12 – 12.30pm), Sheffield United head to Crystal Palace (Saturday, August 12 – 3pm) and Manchester United host Wolves (Monday, August 14 – 8pm) in other notable matches.

    Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town all being promoted, clubs can begin to plan for next season.

    EPL: Arsenal tipped to win the premier League next season

    After making frantic efforts to lift the Premier League for the first time in 20 years but lost it few games to the end of the season, Arsenal Football Club has been tipped to also be relevant come next season.

    Former Arsenal star, Nigel Winterburn has predicted the club to go all the way and win the Premier League next season.

    Manchester City won the title on Saturday night as the declaration came immediately Arsenal lost away to Forest 1-0.

    Not many Premier League followers gave Mikel Arteta’s side the chance to become challengers in the title race at the start of the season.

    “They’ve proved that they can do it this season, so why shouldn’t they be able to go again and do it next season?” Winterburn told The Daily Star.

    “I don’t see any reason Arsenal would not be in the title race. Arsenal have the quality to beat them which they’ve proved.

    “It’s only Manchester City out of the top teams who have looked stronger than Arsenal, so absolutely they should be looking into being in a similar position next season.”
