We’ll work against Peter Obi, he’s now a political enemy – APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said the party will work against Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2023 general election.

After a private meeting between the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and members of APGA, there were widespread rumours that he ordered the party faithful to work against Obi.

But Soludo, speaking through his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, moved to deny the widespread speculation.

However, while addressing reporters in Awka on Thursday, the National Coordinator, APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, insisted that Obi is now a political enemy and they will work against him.

“I hate being sentimental on important issues and like saying the raw truth without minding whose ox is gored.

“Our self-acclaimed Saint Peter Obi as the Labour Party presidential candidate has nothing in common with APGA as a party and APGA faithful, because he is now a political enemy.

“Labour Party members will work against APGA candidates in the forthcoming general election and it is also expected of APGA faithful to work against Peter Obi and other Labour Party candidates in the election,” Obigwe said.

He added that “Governor Chukwuma Soludo does not need to tell APGA faithful to work against Peter Obi because they already know that it is the right thing for them to do in the interest of our party, APGA.”

APC confirms location of Tinubu, says he’s hale and hearty

The United Kingdom Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate is hale and hearty, contrary to speculations in the social media.

Mr Joseph Adebola, Chairman, APC UK Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

He described the speculations that Tinubu was sick and went abroad to seek for medical attention as untrue.

“Unfortunately for them, their evil thinking against Tinubu will not come to pass because they are not God, the giver of life.

“For the records, Tinubu had been having strategic meetings with APC critical stakeholders here in the UK and had remained his vibrant and confident self.

“In one of the recent engagements in London, the APC Presidential Candidate, Tinubu held a strategic meeting with some members of his campaign planning team.

“The team included Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Deputy Director of the PCC planning committee, Chief Pius Akinyelure, and a host of progressive political gurus here in the UK,” Adebola said.

He said that the meeting was convened primarily to take decisions on some lingering issues, ahead of the APC presidential campaign.

He added that the meeting concluded with photo session at the venue which was currently trending in the social media.

“One of the viral photos on social media showed Asiwaju and his team walking back into the house from the garden.

“The session is a further confirmation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s active state and daily engagements.

“We, however, will not be distracted by negative propaganda against Asiwaju and the APC as we are determined to move on, believing God and the Nigerian electorate for the enthronement of Tinubu presidency in 2023,” Adebola said.

He advised the naysayers to get themselves busy with more profiting ventures in their interest.

He assured that the APC UK Presidential Campaign Council was working on galvanising Nigerians in the Diaspora to convince their friends and family members back home to support the APC and its presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

Medically fit presidential candidate needs no proof – Babangida mocks Tinubu

Former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu has mocked the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, that he does not need to prove he is fit to be the president of Nigeria.

Recalled that Tinubu had shared a video of himself on a treadmill on Sunday evening, debunking rumours that he was sick.

Tinubu captioned the video: “Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well… Nope. This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy.”

Speaking at the Ogun State PDP Secretariat in Abeokuta on Monday, Aliyu took a swipe at Tinubu, saying “a medically fit presidential candidate needs no proof by sharing video clips on social media.”

Aliyu insisted that “Atiku is the healthiest of the presidential candidates in this country.”

Aliyu, former Governors, Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano and Boni Haruna of Adamawa had stormed Abeokuta on behalf of Atiku.

Others at the event were, a former Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi; the Ogun PDP governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu; his running mate, Adekunle Akinlade, among other Southwest PDP leaders.

What 2023 election outcome will be based on – Peter Obi

Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi, says the outcome of the 2023 general elections will be based on competence, capacity, and character.

Addressing newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday after a meeting with Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Obi said the 2023 elections would not be based on ethnicity, religion, and connection.

He explained that the elections would be based on a commitment to start doing the right things, to secure, to unite, and to build cohesion in the country.

He noted that the monetisation of Nigeria’s political space contributed to some of the challenges confronting the nation.

“The money that they are sharing is why there is joblessness in the society.

“That is the money that should have been used to do what is right; to improve human capital; to invest in education and in health,’’ he said.

The LP candidate, who said he had made a commitment to secure and unite the country if elected, said he was going across party lines to say: “let’s save our country.’’

Obi said he wanted to move Nigeria from a consumption country to a production country that would be the pride of its citizens.

He promised to remove what he called “existing structures’’ that have been inimical to the progress of the country, if elected president of Nigeria.

Obi urged Nigerians to vote for him because “I believe that I have the competence and the capacity to turn around the country.’’

Wike, team are being treated like filth in PDP – Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, advises Governor Nyesome Wike of Rivers State to dump the Peoples Democratic Party that treats him like a rag doll and join the All Progressives Congress

    By Femi Fani-Kayode

Honestly, my sympathies, heart and pity go out to the Wike group. They are being treated like filth by their party. They had no choice but to pull out of the Atiku campaign. Yet I saw all this coming long ago. Why do you think I left the PDP in the first place?

It is a party that is no longer national and does not even pretend to have respect for Southerners. It is a party that is incapable of rewarding loyalty and keeping its word. It is a party that begins and ends in the North and every Southerner and Middle Belter that is still there is nothing but a quisling and a stooge.

It is a party that does not believe in or understand the importance of building bridges of peace, love and understanding between the North and the South and ensuring fairness, justice and equity for all. It is a party that does nothing but insult and seek to marginalise and destroy its perceived detractors and enemies and putting Nigeria in its hands would mean the end of our country within a matter of months.

This is not the PDP of OBJ, UMYA or GEJ. This is a dying and decaying fly and maggot-infested carcass and a pitiful shadow and shell of its former self. A party with no morals or decency that treats those that stood by it, helped it and fought for it over the years with contempt and disdain.

A party that uses and dumps. A party that seeks to deride, misrepresent and humiliate all those that once stood in the trenches with them and fought for their cause. A party which has close and covert links with the terrorists that are killing, maiming and kidnapping our people.

A party which is powered and controlled by hidden forces that believe they own Nigeria and that have not only sought to destabilise our nation but have also unleashed murder, mayhem, hell and terror against our people. A party that does not want peace but delights in conflict, rancour, division, hegemony and war.

A party some of whose leaders and members are behind much of the insurgency, bloodshed and mass murder in the North West and parts of the North Central and particularly in Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, Nassarawa and Katsina.

A party that has done nothing but humiliate its former President and flagbearer for the 2015 presidential election, President Goodluck Jonathan, over the last seven years and who did not even see fit to give him a place or a role in their Presidential Campaign Council.

A party whose National Chairman is little better than a haughty peacock and who is so vain, puffed up, conceited and deluded that he believes he is more important than all the Presidents on the African continent put together.

The only thing they know how to do is use religion and ethnicity to fight. They know nothing else. They pit Nigerian against Nigerians and seek to divide us rather than bring us together. They do not care about progress and they do not even know the meaning of the word: they only care about their pockets.

The only way forward for the Wike group is to come out of the shadows and support Asiwaju for the presidential campaign and get their supporters to vote for his candidacy. It is a matter of honour.

They took everything from them including their self-respect and dignity. What more do they have left and what are they waiting for? If Atiku wins the election he will come after them with all he has got and utterly crush and destroy them.

Even if Atiku or Okowa themselves are not interested in doing so the hawks around them like Sule Lamido, Attahiru Bafarawa and Adamu Waziri will ensure this is done. For the Wike group, the threat is now existential. Every one of them has been marked for destruction and humiliation by the new leaders of their party.

PDP is not only a menace to their loyal members but a very real and present danger to Nigeria. They should be treated with contempt and the shameless club of degenerates and clan of lepers that they are.

2023: BBNaija, BBSouth Africa to be held under one roof

The reality TV show organizer Big Brother Naija have reached an agreement with their South African counterpart, Big Brother Nwansi to host the show under same roof in 2023.

The merger between BBNaija and BBNwansi of South Africa has elicited a lot of reactions from fans in both countries.

Africa’s biggest reality show organised by MultiChoice Nigeria  announced that it is switching up the show and will give fans a new experience in 2023.

The CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe at the MultiChoice Media Showcase event held in Lagos State promised that the experience will unify cultures, and personalities, and will highlight what Nigeria and South Africa have in common.

However, the prize has not been disclosed yet, but it’s said to be a huge amount in dollars.

The announcement got fans of the show and some ex-Big Brother housemates thrilled as they took to Twitter to express their excitement.

South Africa’s BBMzansi which was suspended seven years ago was revived and aired its last edition with 18 housemates in 2022. 27 year old, Michelle Mphowabadimo Mvundla emerged winner of the show and walked away with R2 million (48 million naira)

A fan, Yomi Adeleke said, “ I like the fact that the organizers have decided to change things. The merger will promote both cultures and entertain us, viewers. I only hope they pick interesting housemates because ex-South African housemates were really bold.

Another identified as Oton Moses said he looks forward to the show as it will get viewers glued to their screen and promote Nigeria’s Afrobeats and South Africa’s Amapiano.

“I am looking forward to 2023 because this will be the coming together of Amapiano and Afrobeats. I think it’s a good decision from the organizers. The parties will be entertaining.”

“These two countries have a history of xenophobia, I feel this merger will promote tolerance. South Africans and Nigerians might use this opportunity to bond, Entertainment brings people together and I think this is one important aspect that will be achieved while the show airs.” Samuel John said.

Meanwhile, this year’s edition of the show is still ongoing with few housemates still remaining in the house to battle for the N100m prize money.

The winner of the Level up housemates will be announced in October 2022.
