Elections: Oborevwori gets a boost as all Delta students endorse his guber ambition

…as butchers in Delta throw their weight behind him

The Governorship ambition of the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and State PDP Governorship Candidate for the 2023 general elections, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, on Thursday, got a major boost when he was endorsed by students across the state, just as Butchers in the State have vowed to deliver him in the March 11th, 2023, Governorship Election.

The National President of NADESSTU, Comrade Okorocha Nkwor Gabriel, in a motion he moved endorsing the Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori when he had interactive session with the students, said that the Governorship candidate has done so much in the State since he became the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

While saying he would make a good Governor if elected, Comrade Nkwor, said that he was endorsed by the students for his outstanding achievements in the State.

His motion for the endorsement of the Governorship hopeful was seconded by the President, Students Union Government (SUG) of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, Comrade Boi Ekenemechaku Samuel and supported by all the students.

Oborevwori had said that if elected as the next Governor of the state, he would be a governor for all Deltans and not a tribal Governor.

Oborevwori who took out time to educate the students why more Universities were established by the administration of Governor Okowa, said that Governor Okowa had done so much for students in the state and promised to do more if voted as a governor.

He implored the students to vote for the Atiku-Okowa ticket for the nation to rise again, saying that the All Progressive Congress (APC) collapsed everything in the country and it was time to get it right again.

“The Atiku-Okowa ticket is the only ticket that can reset and rescue our country and so vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, vote for me and my running mate, Sir Monday Onyeme and all other PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections”, he said.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and State PDP Governorship Candidate for the 2023 general elections, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, in Asaba, on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, met with members of the State Association of Butchers.

“We will support your Governorship aspiration. We will work for your victory and that of all other PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections”, he said.

  • Elections: S/East, S/South Professionals endorse LP’s Obi for president

Elections: S/East, S/South Professionals endorse LP’s Obi for president

…ask over 60m members to vote for LP candidate

The South East and South South Professionals, SESSP on Thursday formally endorse the presidential candidate of Labour Party LP, Peter Obi as its sole candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports this was contained in a statement jointly signed by Hannibal Uwaifo Esq. Chief Ireke Kalu Onuma
President Secretary Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju. Mr. Nuhu Yakubu Board of Trustees.

The body of professionals said after a careful examination of all the presidential candidates and their records consider Obi the most worthy.

    Hear them:

“In a few days, the Nation will have another opportunity to choose the
Leaders that would drive the ship of the Nigerian State for the next four
    years.

“This election circle is like none that we have witnessed in the past 24
    years of this present Republic.
The reasons for this assertion are many, suffice us to mention but a few.
Firstly, we have more eligible voters in the age bracket of 18 and 21 years
who are voting for the first time and are positively active and concerned
about the outcome of the elections.

“The other is the fact that for the first
time Nigeria has a choice outside the regular choices of “this or the other”,
that makes up the traditional Political Parties.

    1. The SESSPN, having followed, reviewed and considered the various
options provided by the Parties, the candidates and their respective
Manifestos, make the following recommendations to our members, the
Peoples of South East -South South Zones, and the entire progressive
    Citizens of our Country:
    I. Nigeria needs and deserves a break from the past and from the now
dysfunctional beaten path. With regards to ethnicity and religion the
country is in a polarized state and therefore there is a need to have a
leader who will unify the country based on equity, justice and fairness.

II. The possibility of a total collapse stares us in the face, hence a need to
choose a Leader capable of restoring faith in the Country and hope in
each citizen. We also need to choose a leader who would be
acceptable to the outside world as that level of comfort will lead to
business relations and attract investors to boost our economy.

III. With an economy that’s hitched on consumption and a deficit that has
reduced the average Nigerians to paupers, we need an informed,
capable and disciplined leader that has the potentials to rescue this
    almost failed State.

IV. We, without reservation, consider an ethical, value driven trait to be
the character of the person most qualified to serve our country at this
    point in our history.

    V. Therefore, as an association representative of 11 States, and over
sixty million people, we recommend that our people vote for Mr.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party as the next President of Nigeria.

    2. We call on our People across the nation to be prepared to exercise their
civil rights by coming out enmasse to cast their votes and also protect it.
Every rights come with a measure of responsive responsibility which means
that, not to vote when you can and not defend your votes when you must is
simply irresponsible and would only hurt us all.

    3. There has been reports of threats to Lives and Properties across our
Zones and in many parts of the Country. These are real threats to our lives
and a bigger threat to our future.

    I. The leadership of SESSPN is not ignorant of these threats and it’s
    existential challenges
II. We are doing all we can in consultation with the proper authorities to ensure we come out and vote without molestations and harassment.

III. We call on all traditional rulers, town union Leaderships and Youth
Groups/Age Grade across our States and Communities to properly and
adequately coordinate within their communities to mitigate against
any nefarious acts against our peoples.

IV. Members of the SESSPN are enjoined to come out enmasse to
mobilize and drive this noble cause.
    V. Our immediate fear of harm and possibly more are real, so also is the
possibility of enslavement to a system geared at destroying all hopes
for and of the future. We must choose freedom. No other choice is
    acceptable.

Elections: Obidatti ready to lift 100m Nigerians from abject poverty

… Peter Obi vows before Nnewi biz community

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party LP Peter Obi has vowed to lift 100million Nigerians above the poverty line if voted president in the forthcoming presidential election.

Obi who heaped the ugly trend at the doorstep of APC said above one hundred million Nigerians are today into abject poverty due to the misrule and mismanagement of the nation’s economy by the incumbent All Progressives Congress(APC) -controlled Federal Government.

The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra state, Valentine Ozigbo, a very strong ally of Obi said that Nigerians are tired and need change !

  • Beware Of Tinubu, Omo-Agege And APC

Beware Of Tinubu, Omo-Agege And APC

    By Daniel Nwakolu.

The time has come for Nigerians to do an evaluation of the unfolding process that is leading us to the 2023 election cycle. As it is with elections coming at the end of two terms, there is a lot of conversation going on among the candidates who are canvassing for votes. Claims and counterclaims, accusations and counteraccusations, bare-faced lies, unscrupulous propaganda, and other devious tools have been deployed in the ongoing process. Politicians will always have their say, but the people must be circumspect as they listen to the politicians. They must take whatever they say with a pinch of salt and subject such to scrutiny. As they examine what the politicians are saying by way of promises, abuses, and self-defence, the people must look back and reckon the contribution of the candidates to the fortune or misfortune of our country. Thankfully, the voting age is made up of a demography that can reason and ask questions. In reasoning and asking questions we are able to avoid the mistake of our recent past.

It is in the light of the above that one is compelled to review the aspirations of two candidates who have been central to the misfortune of Nigeria in the last seven years. There is no longer a single shred of doubt in the mind of over 200 million Nigerians that their country has been driven aground and that they are going through their worst experience ever. And when they think and look around they know and see the people responsible for their present ordeal and the painful thing is that instead of these people who turned Nigeria into hell to be begging for forgiveness, they are out there campaigning that they want to continue to rule and destroy us and they are boasting and bragging about it. Two among those who have turned Nigeria into a hellish jungle are Bola Tinubu former Governor of Lagos State and now the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ovie Omo-Agege, the Delta State APC Governorship candidate.

Both men have so much in common. They are trying to escape from a dirty past which refuses to leave them. Tinubu has been linked to drugs and money laundering in America while Omo-Agege was sanctioned for fraud and forgery also in America. Both men also have identity issues arising from their dark pasts. Tinubu has no name recognition prior to the 1970s and the records of his education have never been sighted. Omo-Agege is afraid of his old name Augustine. These men, Tinubu and Omo-Agege are hooded men. Both of them are disasters in public governance. Forget about the lies regarding what Tinubu did in Lagos. Omo-Agege as SSG in Delta State was a disaster.

Let us now focus on how they and their party, APC, destroyed Nigeria in the last seven years. Tinubu was among the politicians who put together the APC that produced President Muhammadu Buhari. Tinubu is credited to be the funder and pusher of the APC idea and he saw to the coalition that produced the fraud that the APC became. Buhari in 2011 swore that he was not going to contest elections again. But Tinubu led others to wake him up from his sleep in Daura and rebranded him. Tinubu used his media and pseudo-intellectuals to mount a blistering propaganda that painted then-President Jonathan black and deceived Nigerians. Tinubu and his cohorts in the APC promised Nigeria that they would eradicate corruption, do away with insecurity and give us a prosperous economy. Today, seven years after they have given us hell instead of the good things they promised. Nigeria is the poorest nation in the world. The country is also the most corrupt and most insecure place in the world. Our people are living in bondage because of Tinubu.

As for Omo-Agege, he is a messenger-slave to the ruling cabal. He is their sidekick in the South and ever willing to do their biddings. The disgraceful picture of him kneeling down to thank President Buhari spoke so much about his servitude to the cabal. He was accused of having a link with felons who stole the mace. He also supported the Water Resources bill. He also kept quiet when the herdsmen were killing his own people. He is very good at talking about “Mr. President” as if that was more important than Nigeria. At the moment he is campaigning to be the Governor of Delta State and pushing too many lies into the public space. What Omo-Agege represents is suffering that is worse than what we already have. The people of Delta State must reject suffering and reject Omo-Agege. Nigerians and Deltans must place a caveat emptor on Tinubu and Omo-Agege because both men are a major part of their sufferings. Tinubu appears to be experiencing debilitating health challenges, while Omo-Agege is suffering from Trust Deficiency Syndrome (TSD) and High Betrayal Propensity (HBP). The good people of Delta State must reject them.

  • Vote for my father, my wife is Igbo, Tinubu’s son begs Anambra people

Vote for my father, my wife is Igbo, Tinubu’s son begs Anambra people

Son of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Seyi Tinubu, has persuaded the people of Anambra State to vote for his father in the forthcoming presidential election.

The son of the presidential candidate made this revelation in Anambra, while soliciting for votes of the people.

He said: “Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the experience, tolerance and capacity to change the fortunes of Nigeria for the best.

“Everyone has acknowledged that his core strength is his vision for peace, progress and economic development.

He also has a penchant for discovering, nurturing and empowering talent. Testimonies abound across Nigeria, Igbos, Yorubas, Fulanis, Efiks, Ibibios, Hausas and all the other tribes.”

“So I am appealing to Ndi-Anambra and the Igbo region at large to vote for my father because I married an Igbo lady.

With Seyi Tinubu were the former Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Uzuegbunam Okagbue.

  • PDP’ll change Nigeria security architecture, grow our economy – Atiku vows

PDP’ll change Nigeria security architecture, grow our economy – Atiku vows

Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday said if voted into office, his administration would change the security architecture in the country and grow the economy.

He gave the assurance at the party’s Presidential Campaign in Delta held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Abubakar said that between 1999 and 2015, PDP grew Nigeria’s economy and made it the largest in Africa, but that the All Progressives Congress (APC) destroyed it with its inept leadership.

He said that with adequate security and right economic policies, a PDP administration led by him would attract Foreign Direct Investment that would grow the nation’s economy, adding security of the country was paramount because no nation could develop without security.

He told Deltans that the team was not in the state to campaign, saying “we are here to show our gratitude and appreciation to say that we are with you in all respects because of the support we have received from you from 1999 to date.

“All through my political journey, Delta state has always supported me and I want to promise you that I shall not betray the trust of Delta and the entire Niger Delta.

“That is why in my modest appreciation, I chose one of you as my vice presidential candidate and you know that a running mate is always a stepping stone.

“Therefore it is up to you to show your support by giving Governor Okowa the massive support to enable us to rescue and rebuild our dear country.”

On his policy document, the PDP Presidential flag bearer stated that his administration would pay attention to developing the education sector, and promised that under his watch, strikes by members of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) would be eradicated.

“The Niger Delta and other parts of the country will benefit from our resource control and restructuring agenda because it is our intention to devolve more powers to the states and local governments to tackle peculiar challenges facing the people.

“The APC government has disunited Nigeria in all aspects and it is our commitment to restore the unity of this country by ensuring that every part of this country has a sense of belonging.

“You must believe in PDP because as a party we built the biggest economy in Africa until the APC came and destroyed it in 2015.

“Why vote for the same party that has suffered us in the last seven years plus? Let us vote them out to unite and rebuild our country again,” he said.

The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the party and Governor of Delta, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, said that Atiku knew how to address the socio-economic challenges bedevilling the country and urged the people to vote for the party.

According to him, we all know that the APC-led Federal Government brought poverty to the nation; they destroyed our economy to the extent that Nigerians are now hungry, without food to eat.

“How can a bag of rice be sold for almost N50, 000? It is only Atiku that can solve the problems in the country because when the PDP took over the reins of power in 1999, Atiku and Obasanjo were able to restore the nation’s lost glory.

“Atiku has assured Nigerians that he will revive the economy of the country and reposition it for optimum productivity in all sectors of the Nigerian economy.

“For over 20 years, Atiku has been advocating for the restructuring of Nigeria where states and local governments will get more money that will stimulate growth and development and this is what we want in the Niger Delta.

“Atiku has also promised that his administration, if elected, will put in place, a constitutional framework that will enable states to have State Police so as to stem the tide of insecurity in the country.

“Atiku is an experienced politician that has the capacity and pedigree to reset the country and I call on all eligible voters in the state to ensure that they have their PVCs to enable them vote in the forthcoming general elections,” Okowa stated.

National Chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, on his part, congratulated Deltans for the choice of Okowa as Vice-Presidential Candidate and lauded previous governors of the state for their contributions to the growth and development of the state.

He called on sons and daughters of the state to vote massively for all PDP candidates in the general elections.

The rally recorded the defection of many members of APC in the state, including the State Secretary, Chief Nick Ovuakporie, to the PDP.

The party also got the endorsement of the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone B, led by the Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Great Tamarapreye.

The students said the endorsement was in recognition of Okowa’s efforts in establishing three new universities in the state and ensuring that lecturers in the institutions were on duty while ASUU was on nationwide strike for eight months.

The rally was attended by former Vice-President Namadi Sambo, former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki; Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa-Ibom, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Douye Diri of Bayelsa and Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa.

Earlier, Atiku Abubakar had held a meeting with traditional rulers in Delta, at their Secretariat in Asaba, and assured that if elected, he would ensure that clear constitutional roles were given to monarchs in the country.

  • Presidential election: Fresh straw poll puts Atiku-Okowa ahead others

Presidential election: Fresh straw poll puts Atiku-Okowa ahead others

Barely 31 days to the presidential election in Nigeria, a fresh straw poll has put Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as favourite to win the election ahead of other candidates.

The former vice president who hails from Adamawa state in the north east is running with Ifeanyi Okowa, current governor of Delta state on what is called the Atiku-Okowa ticket.

The straw poll conducted by Guardians of Leadership and Democracy, GLD, a pro-democracy group with focus on leadership, good governance, sustainable democracy, innovation and human capital development, has put Atiku in clear lead over three other top contenders for the plum job.

Straw poll, also known as straw ballot, is usually an ad hoc poll carried out to determine the slant of opinion on an issue or popularity of an individual or group of persons within a community. In modern political communication and marketing, it has become an effective quickfire tool to gauge popularity of issues or suitability of persons for a position.

The group has in the past conducted straw poll (both online and offline) on several national issues and on popularity of categories of Nigerians for certain offices including whether Nigeria should adopt the Parliamentary system of government or continue with the extant Presidential system.

Many respondents to the poll conducted (online and offline) across diverse categories of Nigerians, according to GLD, projected Atiku to win the presidential election.

A press statement issued in Lagos, Wednesday, by GLD Executive Secretary, Dr. Robert Ebelo, said the emergence of Atiku as Presidential candidate of the PDP altered earlier projections of the possibility of the next President emerging from the southern part of the country.

The statement explained that most of the respondents from the north picked Atiku over other candidates. The statement added that straw polls are not scientific polls but they represent opinion at a given time and are subject to change.

In the North-West geopolitical zone, which comprises the seven states of Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi and Jigawa, with a total of 22.67 million registered voters, most of the respondents picked Atiku over others. The candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) , Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, came closest to Atiku in the zone.

“Our findings showed that despite repeated pleas for people not to allow issues of religion and ethnicity to determine how they vote, most of the respondents still consider religion and ethnicity as very strong factors that would determine who they vote for.
In the south west with 18.3 million registered voters, Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, and his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu showed clear strength with Tinubu slightly edging Obi.

The zone which comprises Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo is perceived to be the stronghold of Tinubu. The PDP placed third behind APC and Labour Party in the zone.

This again confirms that ethnicity would be a major determinant in the voting pattern in the forthcoming election.
The same trend showed in the south east where Peter Obi hails from. The straw poll showed Peter Obi in clear lead but Atiku and his PDP also showed huge presence in the zone.

In the north east, Atiku’s zone, the Atiku-Okowa ticket was dominant on the scale with more respondents picking Atiku ahead of the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
In the north central, the poll projected a balance of strength between Atiku-Okowa and Tinubu-Shettima tickets.
However, in the South-south, which is traditionally a PDP stronghold and the zone of Atiku’s running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Atiku-Okowa ticket was in clear lead; followed by Peter Obi and his Labour Party.

According to the statement, the 2023 Presidential election contrasts with the norm in the past where the race was always reduced to a two-horse race with one horse being the dominant one, making the contest too easy to call.
Some of the criteria considered by respondents, according to the statement, include ethnicity, fitness, ability to create job and wealth, experience, among other human development indices.

  • Elections: I will stick to my contract with Nigerians – Atiku

Elections: I will stick to my contract with Nigerians – Atiku

…vows to snub opponents disparaging fellow contestants

Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar has vowed to stick to his contract with Nigerians by adequately pursuing his manifesto which enhance better life for all.

TheNewsGuru.com reports this was contained in a statement the PDP presidential flag-bearer signed while in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

He said: “I have since resolved not to descend to the low level of personal attacks and lies being peddled by my opponents. Nor will I join issues with those who, in an attempt to cover their character deficiencies, resort to mudslinging and gutter language, in a desperate attempt to disparage their fellow contestants.

“I’d rather take the high road of dignity and statesmanship to continue to advance our manifesto, as we continue to inform the Nigerian people of how the Atiku-Okowa government intends to stop the slip into the abyss by a country that is so blessed with human and natural resources.

“I will remind them about our past success when I served Nigeria meritoriously as the Vice President in the government that has been adjudged as the best so far since our return to democracy in 1999.

“I want to share our dreams and achievable development plans for our today and our future.

“We shall assemble a team of some of the brightest and best Nigerians that abound within the country and in the Diaspora to assist in rebuilding our country. This is my commitment and my contract with the Nigerian people.

“To this end, my priorities shall include but not limited to unifying the nation to give every citizen that is a Nigerian, every state and every gender, religion and ethnicity a sense of justice, inclusion, equity and trust.

“We shall not only ensure that all Nigerians are treated equally, but that they feel safe and secure as opposed to the regime of pervasive insecurity that has gripped the entire country for too long.

“We shall also be preoccupied with resetting Nigeria’s battered economy, especially finding sustainable solutions to the recurring issues of debt management, deficits, subsidies and the flagging value of the Naira.

“The boosting of crude oil production, stoppage of oil theft and ramping up of non-oil exports to improve earnings are also top on my priorities.

“The reset of our education, to drive our development agenda, and the restructuring of our socio-economic and political structures will be defining efforts of my administration.

“In addition, Diaspora remittances will be given serious attention, particularly now that it has exceeded Nigeria’s earnings from crude oil to shore up our much-needed foreign exchange needs.

Elections: Tinubu/Shettima media team demand immediate arrest of Atiku over alleged financial infractions

The Tinubu/Shettima joint media team has demanded for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar over alleged financial infractions as raised by a whistleblower.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports this was disclosed in a press statement jointly signed by all Shettima/Tinubu’s media team read at a press briefing.

The team declared that “enough of playing the ostrich regarding the ‘Special Purpose Vehicles, SPV saga and we strongly demand the immediate arrest and or invitation and possible prosecution of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

    Read full statement below:

They noted that:”For about a week now, Nigerians have been in deep shock over the grave revelations by a whistle-blower, Mr. Michael Achimugu, who has provided the nation with iron-cast evidence of letters of appointment by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, emails, documents, audio clips, sworn affidavit and direct oral evidence as to how Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (who happens to be the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party) during his tenure as Vice-President of Nigeria between 1999 and 2007, colluded with his then boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, to fleece the country and steal public funds using what he termed “Special Purpose Vehicles” (SPVs).

“Those SPVs were companies Atiku admittedly registered upon assumption of office as Vice-President (with the approval of President Olusegun Obasanjo) using “trusted allies” as shareholders and Directors. The purpose was to divert government contracts to these companies as “consultants” and then paid monies into these companies and used those monies to fund the PDP and their private businesses and family activities. We can all vividly recall that during that tenure, both President Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar built the Bells University and American University respectively. Now, we know from where the funds came.

“We hereby make available Certified True Copies of the affidavit sworn to and released to the public by the whistleblower, Mr. Michael Achimugu, giving graphic details of all that transpired, including attached documents.

” Let us also play to you the voice recording he did of Atiku Abubakar. Note that he provided the time of the call, the phone number used and the emails immediately preceding the call.

    POSSIBLE INFRACTIONS OF THE LAW

    (a) an illegal act ; or

(b an act which is not illegal by illegal means, such an agreement is called a criminal conspiracy.”

ATIKU DOES NOT ENJOY IMMUNITY SIMPLY BECAUSE HE IS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

We understand that the law enforcement agencies may be reluctant to act simply because of the perception of persecution of a Presidential candidate that this may evoke.

However, facts are sacred. The facts so far presented to the world clearly indicate that Atiku Abubakar has a case to answer. In other climes when such serious allegations arose in the middle of campaigns, the law-enforcement agencies acted decisively. You may recall that, in 2016, in the middle of campaigns for the exalted office of the Presidency of the United States, the FBI opened investigation into allegation of misuse of private emails against Hillary Clinton when she was Secretary of State. In fact, the case was referred to the Justice Department for likely prosecution few weeks to actual voting. Though, she was later cleared, it bears restating that a sane and dispassionate system never allowed such side talks to dissuade or distract them from initiating a process of investigation. It is the minimum expected in a constitutional democracy. That is what we call on the authorities to do in the case of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

RECOVERY OF ALL MONIES IN MARINE FLOAT ACCOUNT

The issue of the Marine Float Account is not new to Nigerians. In the voice note, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar can be heard boasting that the issue of that account was thoroughly investigated by EFCC, yet then he was smart enough to escape.

However, we note that in 2006, at the height of his public quarrel with Obasanjo over the sharing of money, the same PDP officially asked Atiku Abubakar to refund N500million taken from that account.

In the circumstance, since the nation now knows that the Marine Float Account and other similar accounts were ‘SPV’ accounts, it follows that all payments made into that account were monies stolen from the public coffers. Therefore, we call on all security agencies to recover all monies withdrawn from that account by anyone for that matter.

ATIKU MUST APOLOGISE AND RENOUNCE HIS AMBITION

In the light of these very grave revelations, we call on Atiku Abubakar to IMMEDIATELY tender an unreserved apology to the Nigerian people and step down from the Presidential race forthwith, whilst handing himself over to the law enforcement agencies.

What is now clear to the Nigerian people is that between 1999 and 2007:

    (a) President Obasanjo and Atiku ran a criminal enterprise and an empire of fraud in Abuja at the same time Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was toiling very hard, dutifully and meticulously laying the foundation to rebuild Lagos State.

    (b) That following these revelations, it becomes clear that Atiku Abubakar has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO CAMPAIGN ON AGAIN AS THE PERIOD OF 1999 – 2007 that he always relies on can now be described by Nigerians as the “SPV years” when they ran Nigeria aground.

    (c) That whilst President Obasanjo and Atiku deprived the good people of Lagos State their Local Government monthly allocations even after the Supreme Court ordered the release of the funds, they were busy stealing the nation’s resources by stealth in Abuja.

    (d) That the real, dark reason for the seemingly irreconcilable quarrel between President Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar is disagreement over monies they both stole in the ‘SPV’ accounts at that time.

    PROTECTION FOR THE WHISTLE-BLOWER

When President Muhammadu Buhari came to office, one significant policy he adopted was that of whistleblowing. You are all witnesses to the fact that the policy has recorded tremendous success with the recovery of millions of dollars from various hidden sources. One was the famous Ikoyi apartment heist. These recoveries have been used by the Buhari administration to fund our budgets and build the infrastructure we see springing up everywhere in the country today. We also recall that recently, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved a Bill to be forwarded to the National Assembly for legal backing to the policy and legal protection for the whistle-blower

It is in the light of the above, we call on all well-meaning Nigerians and the law-enforcement agencies to protect Mr. Michael Achimugu, who has blown this whistle on Atiku Abubakar. No harm must befall him or members of his family. We suspect that some goons of Atiku Abubakar are planning to eliminate him and harm members of his family. We shall hold Atiku Abubakar responsible if anything befalls this patriotic Nigerian or members of his family. We also encourage him to reveal to Nigerians those “earth-shaking” revelations he is withholding for the sake of this nation and the future of our children.

    CONSPIRATORIAL SILENCE

So far, we are disillusioned, but not surprised at the conspiratorial silence of a section of the media over this grave issue of national importance. Even after seeing court processes in form of a sworn affidavit, we observe an embarrassing silence yet from a section of the media. We have consistently made our case against the unethical and partisan antics of some media houses and this development vindicates us.

When it was the case of the spurious and dead case of drug dealing leveled against our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, these media platforms threw caution to the winds and zealously feasted on it. Of course, we gallantly came out and vigorously disproved all the tissue of lies against our candidate. But, now, the Press has gone strangely quiet. Well, whether they keep quiet or not, it is our firm belief that the judiciary is the last hope for the hopeless. In this case, the judiciary will not be quiet as we shall clearly take steps in the next few days to initiate a judicial process seeking the OUTRIGHT DISQUALIFICATION OF ATIKU ABUBAKAR from the race based on these facts. He is clearly ethically challenged, morally damaged for the highest office of the land.

We call on the Fourth Estate of the realm to resist the temptation of partisan recruitment this moment, rise to a patriotic call this defining hour and save the nation from this candidate that serially abused his office as Vice-President of Nigeria.

    Thank you.

LP cries out, alleging Soludo ordered removal of all Peter Obi, Labour Party billboards in Anambra

The Labor Party (LP) in Anambra State has cried out over alleged mass removal of all billboards of her Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi all over the state.

Describing the action as “punitive, condemnable and unacceptable”, the LP chairman in Anambra -Chief Ugochukwu Emeh, who addressed a press conference on the unfortunate issue at the Obidatti Campaign HQ in Udoka Estate, Sunday afternoon noted that the act was alien to the state’s polity, hence should be discouraged immediately.

Chief Emeh noted that “the good people of Anambra state had greeted the emergence of Prof Chukwuma Soludo with great expectations. The citizens enthusiastically anticipated that the light that would transform and illuminate the state has come at last. But unfortunately it’s now obvious that it was a sad and misplaced expectations.

The LP chairman therefore reminded Soludo that there was nothing really wrong with nursing an ambition, but that must be guided by decorum, diligence and sanity of live and let live. No such ambitious person should cut his nose to spite his face.

And with this shameful act of ordering the pulling down of our(LP) presidential campaign billboards across the state, and replacing them with APGA messages, the governor has shot himself in the foot. The smear even extended and soiled all APGA candidates.

His action depicts arrogance of power, and shows his disdain for the feelings and aspirations of any other person, even his party members.

Emeh appealed to the citizens and members of LP and Obidient Movement in the state to remain very peaceful, focused and law abiding.

The Labour Party chairman expressed dismay that it’s now clear that Soludo lacks the ingredients of democracy and plurality of opinions, hence his series of unguarded and unwarranted attacks on Peter Obi, LP and the Obedient Movement.”

He reiterated that with the gale of endorsement for Obi and his running mate, Dr Ahmed Datti no attacks of their billboards will slow down the Obidient political Movement thats has been sweeping across the nation’s political landscape like a tornado.

Emeh however called on men and women of good conscience to call the governor to order before the antagonistic disposition becomes a culture.

Meanwhile, when contacted for his reaction the Managing Director of Anambra State Signage Agency, the body in charge of outdoor adverts/signage issues, Mr Tony Ujubuonu,
explained that the party was unable to meet up the conditions of the state government, and the billboards were removed, and payments returned to the party.

While tendering pictures of the dismantled billboards that were at the same time replaced as well as the duly paid charges as demanded by the signage agency, the LP revealed that their billboards that were dismantled have been replaced with those of the governor’s party, APGA.
