Bawa further assured that his agency is committed to ensuring a free fair and transparent election in the country through a pre-emptive action.

He disclosed that his agency will achieve this through intelligence gathering and laying of surveillance in each polling unit before and during elections where perpetrators of money politics can be promptly arrested and prosecuted.

The measures, according to EFCC Chairman is to pay close attention to some money bag politicians a measure that led to the arrest of some voters with money in the recently concluded Ekiti and Osun guber elections.

According to the EFCC Chairman, some politicians arrested for trying to induce voters in the recently concluded primary elections across the country are presently facing prosecution at several court of competent jurisdictions and this will serve as deterrent to would be money inducers at the forthcoming general elections.

  • Tinubu going into the examination hall with text books

Tinubu going into the examination hall with text books

    By Eghebi Williams Lince

Many unpleasant things have been said about Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The frequency of the mud thrown at him has increased especially now that he wants the approval of Nigerians for his inordinate ambition. It is expected. After all, any person who seeks election in Nigeria must be ready to hear the names of those that dated his or her mother before she got married.

I will not dwell on the cloud surrounding the true identity of his parents nor the schools he attended. Chief Bode George has spoken much about them. Certainly, the allegation of his drug dealings in the United States of America need not perturb me since Reno Omokri is having a field day on the issue.
I also think that his ownership of Lagos State and the misery surrounding the Alpha Beta Company do not need my attention though he has not till this moment given satisfactory insight on the tilted revenue collection deals.

Finally, I will not turn my eyes on the Muslim/Muslim Presidential Ticket of the APC. I am further emboldened to veer off this trajectory because it is amongst the religious leaders that corruption, adultery, blasphemy, idolatry, and many other heinous crimes take hostage. Religion, therefore need not be an index for consideration.

The last thing I will refrain myself from is his failing health. This is more so because his real age as given by peers has exposed him to such senile fallouts. When push comes to shove, nature manifests.
There is something about Uncle Bola, aka, Emilokon, that cannot resist commentary. It is his audacity to disrespect time-tested democratic norms.

It is strange that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential Candidate of the APC has become dodgy when asked to put himself out for public scrutiny. When the Nigeria Bar Association invited him last August with other Presidential Candidates, he sent his running mate who introduced the infamous dress code at a ceremony where learned Nigerians gathered to talk about various burning national issues.

While he declined to be part of the Arise Television Townhall Meetings, he flew to London to appear at the Chatham House Lecture filled with cheerleaders, chaperones, and baggage bearers. Though ‘Emilokon’ didn’t replay his series of gaffes, he literarily left the venue without upticks.
Senator Bola Tinubu is free not to honour the invitation for media scrutiny in Nigeria just as Nigerians cannot be railroaded to cast their votes for him. It is not a matter of mix and pick.

At Chatham House, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu thought he was smart by seeking a lifeline that was not included in the ground rules. While he acted like a guest at the popular British TV series,” who wants to be a millionaire?”, the organisers of the Chatham House event should be seething from the mess the landlord of Lagos caused the iconic platform.
The display of Bola Tinubu can be likened to a candidate who walks into the examination hall with his textbooks. A rogue student would have the courtesy of taking permission from the invigilator to pick something from his bag. Tinubu in the middle of the examination, without permission from the invigilator, walked to his bag, picked up the vital books with which he got materials to respond to the questions. In some clime, the action would lead to outright decanting from the hall or his results seized.

Chris Tarrant presenter of the ITV quiz, would not give Tinubu the leverage to swag and flaunt his disrespect to Nigerians unlike the reverence the Chatham House host did. He appeared to be comfortable with his pay packet not knowing that Tinubu should have been questioned on the demands of the job he seeks. Instead of tucking his tails, Senator Tinubu sent out his attacks dogs against Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Oseni Yusuf, and the entire Arise Television management for their stance on free speech. Somebody should tell him that Nigeria is on auto-drive.

Nigerians will no longer accept the threat of pushing the Ibos into the lagoon for defying voting orders. Poverty has no tribe. Kidnappers do not exempt people of the same religion. Flood is ravaging both North and South. Inflation does not discriminate against political parties.
There is a choice we have to make now to refix the nation. The Atiku/Okowa ticket will kickstart the New Nigeria. Let’s make it the real deal.

2023: Atiku promises to revive Nigeria’s economy using education as a tool

The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has promised to use education as a tool to revive Nigeria’s ailing economy.

Atiku who has vast experience in Public Administration made this revelation while speaking at the Arise News Presidential Town Hall series on Sunday.

He said, “We have to undergo educational reform, so our youth are prepared for the private sector which is the engine of any economy.

“The most important thing is education to get our kids educated. And not only educated but rightly educated. And then they can make themselves available to the private sector for growth—which is the engine room of the economy.

“We should avoid the bottlenecks that stifle the funding meant to get to the universities,” he added.

  • Tinubu: A leader Nigeria needs-Gov Ayade

Tinubu: A leader Nigeria needs-Gov Ayade

Another core Professor, former Senator and Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade in the mould of former Senator, former Edo Governor, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor are on same page that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the president Nigeria needs in 2023.

Ayade speaking along same line of reasoning with Osunbor said that Nigeria needs the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fix the myriads of challenges bedeviling the country.

Ayade, who spoke on TVC News Breakfast, said Tinubu has the large heart and the experience to turn things around for the good of all Nigerians.

Besides his expertise, the two-term Governor, who coordinates the ruling party’s campaign for the Southsouth region, said the balance of politics also favoured Tinubu.

He said the 2023 general elections will be a watershed of electioneering in Nigeria.

“If you have never headed a government, it is easy to criticise. Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been a head of Lagos State. He has been tested. He has a recruitment process that guarantees confidence.

“He is not somebody driven by ethnicity. He was a Governor that had commissioners outside Lagos State.

“He has a style of having his eyes on ready hands. That means, he delegates and he is sensitive and ready to take charge when there’s a system failure.

“When you look from the distance, it looks easier. I have been a chief executive of a state and I have seen the internal mechanism that delivers failure. Yet, experience remains the best teacher.

“I think that the best way you can test somebody is to run a small system like a governor of a state. So, I think he comes with a lot of experience.

“For instance, he moved Lagos internally generated revenue from N6 billion to N60 billion, setting up a roadmap for the state’s economy that makes the state almost the largest in the whole Africa. So, cumulatively, Tinubu comes with a lot of experience you can’t take away.

“Tinubu has the ability to select competent hands, irrespective of ethnic and religious bias.

“I remember when I was in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and I had an issue, I went to Tinubu. He gave his support inspite of the fact that I was a PDP Governor. The country needs somebody with such big heart.

“Besides, the balance of politics favours him because indeed, it is the turn of the South. So, I think he is the right person at this time.”

The Governor also dismissed insinuations that the South-south would be dominated by the PDP, adding that all politics is local.

“In Cross-River State, if you go local government by local government, you’ll see my hand work and I think I have done enough to deliver my state for my party.

“If I analyse South-south as whole, you will see that the APC will e sweeping the region.”

The Governor promised to comfortably deliver 1 million votes in Cross River for his party.

According to him, with all the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has put in place, 2023 electioneering will be a watershed in Nigeria’s politics, saying Nigerian’s vote will count.

On his senatorial ambition, he said he decided to return to the Senate to add more value to this country.

He added that a very robust National Assembly, particularly, the Senate leadership can play a major role in the policy thrust of an administration.

“For example, the power of appropriation in vested with the National Assembly. Whatever comes from the executive is just a budget estimate. The main budget that is eventually passed into law has a full power of the National Assembly.

“Therefore, coming back to the Senate, and hopefully, at the leadership level, we will be able to provide a direction for the country.

“So, I am coming as a very old high ranking senator with a lot of experience to impact the needed change.

BREAKING: Labour Party rubbished alleged suspension of Doyin Okupe

    …says it’s null and void

The Labour Party, LP, has rubbished the alleged suspension of its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Director-General, Doyin Okupe, saying it is null and void.

This was revealed in Abuja on Friday by the National Secretary of the party, Mr Umar-Farouk Ibrahim.

Ibrahim said that the leadership of the party was shocked at the suspension by the Ogun chapter, as it was without due process.

“The Ogun State Chapter has acted outside its constitutional jurisdiction; the party has an internal conflict resolution mechanism of handling cases against members as enshrined in the party’s constitution,” he said.

He further added that the National Working Committee(NWC) of the party is going to take appropriate disciplinary action against the perpetrators of the so-called suspensions.

Ibrahim assured that the party will ensure cohesion among its members and would not be distracted by the antics of the opposition candidates until all its candidates were victorious in the 2023 general election.

  • 2023: The President Nigeria Needs

    2023: The President Nigeria Needs

With campaigns on-going for various elective positions in the 2023 general elections it is imperative at this time to reflect on the type of person Nigeria needs to elect to the office of President. What really are the expectations of Nigeria?

Without a doubt, Nigerians want to have a country that works; that can provide the basic everyday needs of her citizens; whose leadership is imaginative, creative and can transform Nigeria from being perpetually “a country with great potentials” to one where those potentials become a reality with actual gains and positive results in all spheres of life.

We need a President under whose watch and inspiring leadership we can change the narrative about Nigeria being a potentially great country; a President that will ignite the engines of growth which will result in actual gains and true greatness.

We need a builder who will not only position Nigeria on a new trajectory towards the realisation of her full potentials but will set the tone for the sub-national units to emulate. In 2023 and beyond the narrative must change in a remarkably different way by electing a President who can build the Nigeria of our dreams.

The only way to decide who best meets these requirements amongst the Presidential candidates is to examine the track records of each of them.

This determination can be best made not through blind emotions, anger, hatred, envy, insults or protest but by a calm, sober and dispassionate assessment of the antecedents and track records of the candidates who seek to be our President.

We have reached a defining moment for Nigeria when we must seize the opportunity to lift our country out of the throes of backwardness so that it can join the league of developed nations.

Many formerly under-developed countries like ours have since left us far behind in the development index.

We have gone past the time of rhetoric and bare campaign promises (and politicians the world over are notorious for promises not kept) but must assess each candidate by what he had done before in public office as a pointer to what he is likely to be able to do in the higher office of President.

Manifestos and debates have their place but much more important is the ability to fulfil campaign promises supported by past records.

The President that Nigeria needs in 2023 and beyond is one that can build our country to the standard we all desire and expect it to be as demonstrated, not by mere rhetoric but by evidence that all can see.

The candidate that best meets this description is, without a doubt, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the APC Presidential candidate.

The evidence spans various spheres of what it takes to build a nation to greatness. With Tinubu, Nigeria will break away from backwardness and be positioned irreversibly on the path of development and greatness.

He proved this in Lagos when he assumed the office of Governor in 1999 by laying a foundation which his successors have continued to build upon in diverse spheres to the admiration of all fair-minded persons. A few illustrations will suffice.

    PART 2
Before 1999, Lagos used to have the infamous distinction as one of the dirtiest and most disorganised cities in the world but under Tinubu as Governor and till date the situation has changed. In spite of the challenges of an ever increasing daily migration, Lagos now wears a new look with good roads, improved infrastructure and institutions like LAWMA, LASTMA, etc, that are being emulated by many States and even the Federal Government on issues like Justice Sector Reform.

New areas of development have been opened up in the Lekki axis with beautiful aesthetics and a well-planned environment hosting the newly commissioned Lekki Deep Sea Port, Dangote refinery and an on-going international airport.

Eko Atlantic City has transformed hitherto erosion ravaged Bar Beach to a model city comparable to Dubai and other dream destinations across the world to the extent that the United States of America is building there perhaps one of its most expensive missions in the world.

Tinubu as Governor identified the best brains (something he is known for) to help him actualise his vision for a new Lagos and they gave a good account of themselves.

Today one of his former Commissioners is the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; some are Ministers and many others hold high offices in government – both elective and appointive. None of his contemporaries has achieved this.

    PART 3
With his party AD controlling only Lagos State in 2003, Tinubu through his sagacity and deft political manoeuvring transformed it to AC, ACN and ultimately APC which is now the ruling party in Nigeria – this mostly at the expense of PDP whose leadership were consumed in arrogance, wickedness and misrule, believing the fake promise of ruling for 60 years.

They were swept away after 16 terrible years for which they owe Nigerians an apology and atonement, not asking for their votes.

Tinubu harnessed the energy of the youths in Lagos by providing them with employment opportunities in state institutions established by government and private sector enterprises enabled by an investment-friendly environment.

Whereas many governors run their Local governments through Sole Administrators or Caretaker Committees in flagrant breach of section 7 of the Constitution, Tinubu maintained fidelity with the Constitutional requirement that the system of local government in Nigeria must be through democratically elected local government councils.

By ensuring periodic elections into the 57 Local Governments and Development Area Councils in Lagos State, Tinubu opened up more opportunities for youths to be actively engaged in governance thereby preparing them for participation at higher levels. One of his Local Government Council Chairmen rose to become a Senator.

By giving opportunities to youths to participate in legitimate endeavours Lagos State has witnessed a massive decline in violent crimes and other vices.

The new look Oshodi, formerly a den of robbers, attests to the success of Tinubu and those he helped successively to occupy the position of Governor of Lagos State. I can go on and on but I believe the point is clear.

His many other accomplishments are common knowledge.

    PART 4
Of all the front-line Presidential candidates Tinubu is the most religious tolerant. Amongst the candidates he scored the best grades in the University and exhibited exceptional intelligence unmatched by any of his co-contestants.

The challenges facing Nigeria today were faced by Tinubu in Lagos State, though on a smaller scale. However, by establishing a standard and laying a good foundation, Lagos has surmounted most of the limitations to become the fifth largest economy in Africa. You can imagine what Nigeria stands to gain if and when he leads as President.

This is one in a life-time opportunity for Nigeria and we must not allow it to slip through our fingers. Tinubu has the vision and capacity to build the foundations of a new Nigeria in the same way that Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, Mahathir Ibn Mohamad of Malaysia and Paul Kagame of Rwanda pulled their respective countries from poverty to prosperity.

    PART 5
I am not unmindful of the various criticisms and reservations that some have expressed against Tinubu and I do not imagine that he is a saint. No one is perfect. Curiously, many of the opponents agree that he will make a good President but continue to rehash the reservations.

These, I dare say, no matter how well embellished they are with crude jokes, mockery, photos and videos – real or fake, are not weighty enough to deny Nigeria the benefits that a Tinubu Presidency can bring.

It is commonly said that Tinubu is not a good public speaker and is slow or sluggish in speech. When God decided to free the children of Israel from captivity in Egypt he chose Moses who was slow in speech and a stammerer. He did not choose an orator.

Despite his self-confessed lack of eloquence, Moses successfully took his people from Egypt, crossed the Red Sea and led them safely to the promised land.

Some say that Tinubu was indicted or convicted for a drug-related crime in the United States of America in 1993 but the US government issued a statement in February 2003 to say that their government has no criminal record against Tinubu.

It simply makes no sense for any Nigerian nearly 20 years later to continue to contest or contradict the unequivocal official statement clearing Tinubu of links with any crime in far way US.

To do so is to imply or suggest that the U.S. statement is false, which will be very ridiculous, to say the least.

Again, it beats my imagination that people are insisting that Tinubu must display his primary and secondary school certificates even when he has provided to INEC his Chicago State University certificate, a qualification higher than the minimum required under our Constitution.

The only logical deduction from all these accusations, even from among many who do not doubt the leadership acumen of Tinubu, is that these are all they can hang on to in their desperate opposition to his candidature.

It is the same reason they continue to bandy about allegations in the libellous TV documentary, “The Lion of Bourdillon”, for which its publisher has publicly apologised to Tinubu.

In conclusion, my strong advice and appeal to Nigerians is that they should disabuse their minds of sentiments, bitterness or hate and, for the good of our country, elect a President who can transform Nigeria, not a debating champion.

That transformational leader who has demonstrated capacity by a wide margin is Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is the President that Nigeria needs in 2023. He deserves our votes.

2023: Return APGA back to winning ways to honour Ojukwu-Dozie Nwankwo, Senatorial candidate

Members of the All of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)globally have been advised to return the party to it’s formidable winning ways to honour its founder, Late Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu

The challenging charge was dropped this on Saturday in Awka by the party’s senatorial candidate for Anambra Central in the fast approaching February 25,2023 election while inaugurating his formidable Campaign organization.

Nwankwo, popularly known as “Onyendozi”, the great builder; bemoaned what many saw as the drift within the party hierarchy.

He therefore urged the members of his campaign structure, other officers and members of the party to work for general benefit of the party, ” just as we all worked collectively hard in the governorship election and recorded a resounding victory.

According to him, presently APGA is being tested and challenged in diverse ways, especially in Anambra State, but being the party in power here, the institution of government must be made to work for and benefit us.

” This is a payback time.

“It’s sad that someone would schedule an event at the International Conference Center on a day APGA members have events all over the state.
