    He was “too perfect”- Kaka’s ex-wife gives shocking reason for divorcing the football legend

    Brazil and AC Milan legend KaKa’s ex-wife, Caroline Celico, has revealed she divorced him because he was “too perfect”.

    Kaka, 41, married Celico in 2005 before they divorced in 2015.

    The ex-couple had two children together but Celico was not happy and has now revealed she felt something was missing.

    “Kaka never betrayed me, he treated me well, he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy, something was missing,” she was quoted on The Sun.

    “The problem was, he was too perfect for me.”

    Celico, a Brazilian socialite, joined Kaka’s church after they married and later became an Evangelical pastor but quit in 2010.

    She then launched the charity Horizontal Love, which provides supplies for food, hygiene, construction and education to Brazilian NGOs.

    The 36-year-old later married Eduardo Scarpa Julião in 2021 and the couple are now expecting their first child.

    Kaka also found love again with partner Carolina Dias he began dating in 2017.

    Kaka had a decorated career which saw him win nine major trophies, including the World Cup with Brazil in Korea/Japan 2002 and the FiFA Confederations Cup in 2005 and 2009.

    He also won Serie A and the Champions League with AC Milan, as well as La Liga with Real Madrid.

    Also, he was named FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d’Or both in 2007.

    AC Milan striker Rafael Leao says the players are happy to qualify for the Europa League.

    Their win at Newcastle United saw Milan out of the Champions League, but they remain in Europe.

    “We wanted to continue in the Champions League, but we celebrated at the final whistle because these are still three important points,” Leao said afterward.

    “Now we enter the Europa League and will try to win it, because it is a trophy that Milan have never won.”

    Leao admits he wanted more goals.

    “I was disappointed, that would’ve been important to boost my confidence. Unfortunately, we were not able to achieve our objective of staying in the Champions League, but we are still in Europe.”

    Former Italy and AC Milan defender, Paulo Maldini has attacked the club for signing Super Eagles’ winger Samuel Chukwueze in the summer.

    Recall that Chukwueze, 24, joined the Rosoneri from LaLiga club, Villarreal for €30 million in July.

    The winger was in good form for Villarreal in the 2022/23 season, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists.

    Meanwhile few months at the San Siro, Chukwueze has, however, struggled to replicate the form with AC Milan, managing just one goal in 12 outings across all competitions.

    Maldini, who also once worked as AC Milan technical director, insisted that the player has failed to justify his massive transfer fee.

    “There was no need to sign Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, and Chukwueze,” Maldini said in an interview with Italian news outlet La Republica.

    “You cannot compare the previous four transfer windows to the last one. Milan had different quality options, unlike this summer.”

    Chukwueze is expected to be in action when AC Milan take on Frosinone on Saturday (today).

    Former AC Milan technical chief Paolo Maldini says he would’ve fought hard to stop Sandro Tonali leaving for Newcastle United.

    Maldini initially signed Tonali for the Rossonero.

    He told La Repubblica of the midfielder’s summer sale: “We would have done everything possible not to let him walk away, even in the face of such an important offer.

    “We have never been totally against the sale of one of our important players, but there wasn’t even a real need.”

    Then he continued: “I like to remember that we spent an amount equal to about a fifth of the value of the transfer to the new owner to purchase him and that even in that case we had to discuss heatedly with the CEO (Ivan Gazidis) and ownership: none of them wanted to buy him, not even the scouting area.”

    Super Eagles new invitee and rave of the moment at Montpellie FC of France, Jerome Akor is being scouted by Serie A side, AC Milan for Oliver Giroud’s replacement.

    Giroud, who turned 37 in September, has few years left in the game but has reiterated his desire to carry on with AC Milan.

    However, the Rooseneri consider Akor as a long-term successor to the Frenchman.

    Ivory Coast international, Serhou Guirassy and Canada’s Jonathan David are also under consideration at the club.

    Akor joined Ligue 1 club, Montpellier from Norwegian outfit, Lillestrom in the summer.

    The 23-year-old has scored seven goals in 11 league outings for La Paillade.

    UCL: City beat Leipzig 3-1, Newcastle thrash PSG 4-1, Milan, Dortmund share spoils

    English Premier League  defending Champions, Manchester City on Wednesday night  defeated RB Leipzig 3-1 in their UEFA Champions League encounter at the Red Bull Arena.

    Forward Phil Foden opened scoring in the 28th minute of the encounter before Lois Openda equalized for the home side  in the 48th minute.

    However, Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku struck late on to hand City the deserved  win.

    The visitors were in near-total control throughout the first half, retaining over 70 percent of the possession. Their dominance was rewarded in the 25th minute when Foden slotted home Rico Lewis’ cutback to put City in the lead.

    Elsewhere, Newcastle defeated Paris Saint German 4-1 in a very thrilling encounter.
    Newcastle’s goals were scored by Almirón (17′), Burn (39′), Longstaff at 50′, and Schär scored the fourth at 90′.
    The scorer of the Parisian goal was Lucas Hernández, from a pass from Zaïre-Emery (56′).
    Meanwhile Italian Side AC Milan were held to a second successive goalless draw in the Champions League at Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday to slip to third in Group F.

    Stefano Pioli’s Italian side, semi-finalists last season, created the better chances but failed to convert them, just as in their opening 0-0 draw with Newcastle at the San Siro.

    Newcastle climbed to the summit of the group while PSG dropped to second position. AC Milan are now third on the log while German side Borussia Dortmund are currently occupying the last position.

    English Premier League side, Newcastle on Monday, broke UEFA Champions League preparations rules , after their flight to Milan was delayed by over two hours due to a storm in Italy.

    It was gathered that the  Magpies squad took off two hours and 20 minutes late from Newcastle for their flight to north Italy.

    According to UEFA rules, teams must hold their pre-match press conferences between 12pm and 8pm local time on the day before the game.

    After they finally arrived at the San Siro, Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe explained that the weather was the reason for their delay.

    Howe claimed they sat on the runway for nearly two hours before taking off.

    Newcastle’s press conference eventually began at 9pm, two hours after its scheduled start time.

    AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud suffered an ankle injury in action for France last night.

    Giroud started France’s Euro2024 qualifying win against the Republic of Ireland.

    However, the veteran limped off on 25 minutes after being seen clutching his ankle. He suffered the injury earlier, but couldn’t carry on and asked to be substituted.

    The 36-year-old removed his boot and was visibly in pain as he left the pitch.

    Giroud now risks missing next week’s derby against Inter Milan.

    Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze is delighted to be an AC Milan player.

    The former Villarreal star signed for the Rossonero on Thursday.

    He revealed: “When I was a kid, I only looked at Ricardo Kaká. The goal he scored in the Champions League against Manchester United… When his head hit the ball and the defenders collided it was incredible.

    “I think Kaká was my player from the great Milan, he was fantastic. When I watched some of his YouTube videos, I saw all the crazy things he did in the Rossoneri shirt. He was a fabulous player.”

    Chukwueze continued: “I played together with Carlos Bacca (at Villarreal), I also came here because he was at Milan and played for Villarreal. I heard from him and asked him about the club and he told me it was fantastic.

    “I really had so many questions because I really like Milan and I think they’re a great team with a great history. So I asked him and he said it’s a fantastic club and I should come here.”

    Nigeria’s Chukwueze arrives AC Milan, to sign five-year deal

    Samuel Chukwueze has arrived at La Madonnina clinic to undergo his medicals ahead of his move to AC Milan.

    Chukwueze, according to Football Italia, arrived at the clinic on Wednesday night.

    The 24-year-old will sign a five-year contract after completing his medicals.

    Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano in the early hours of Tuesday disclosed this while providing an update on Chukwueze’s imminent move from La Liga to Serie A.

    “AC Milan will complete Samuel Chukwueze’s deal today, it has been done since Monday for €20m fee plus €8m add-ons to Villarreal,” Romano tweeted.

    “Chukwueze will land in Milano around 1pm today. Italian centre-back Matteo Gabbia will join Villarreal on loan from AC Milan in a separate deal.”

    Villarreal and Milan reached agreement on €28million transfer fee for Chukwueze last week and both clubs exchanged documents to finalise the deal on Monday night.

    AC Milan will pay €28m including add-ons for the player.

    Chukwueze will become Milan’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window, following Marco Sportiello, Luka Romero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders, Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor.

    Chukwueze had the best season of his career so far in the yellow and yellow jersey of Villarreal last season, when he scored 13 goals and bagged 11 assists.

    The Nigerian international was promoted to the Yellow Submarine’s senior team in 2018 and has gone on to make 207 appearances in all competitons with 37 goals to his name.

    He spent four years at Villarreal.
