    AGN suspends actor, Jerry Williams over involvement with hard drugs

    Nollywood actor Jerry Williams has been suspended indefinitely over his involvement with hard substances.

    Williams suspension was made known by the National President of the guild, Emeka Rollas, who announced this in a statement released on Thursday, he said AGN has been monitoring Williams’ “involvement in illicit substances since December last year, until it got out of hand.”

    He added that  the Guild ought to have suspended Williams before now but “decided to allow him go through minor treatments, which he has been defaulting overtimes.”

    Rollas said AGN finally took the decision to suspend after observing that he “is a risk not only to himself but also, other actors who might be acting alongside him on set.”

    The president said Williams will remain suspended “until he gets a clean bill of health from a medical practitioner or a professional that handles drug abuse.”

    BREAKING: Tallest man in Nigeria, Nollywood actor, Agoro is dead

    Popular actor, Afeez Agoro Oladimiji,  widely recognised as the tallest man in Nigeria, is dead.

    According to The Nation, Agoro’s burial arrangement has commenced at his residence in Community road, Akoka.

    It was learnt that Agoro was rushed to the hospital yesterday after he developed some complications.

    Agoro’s last post on Facebook was on May 28 after he recovered from hip replacement.

    He posted: “Thank God Almighty for a successful operation now it’s time for therapy.”

    Agoro went through hip recovery process with his personal doctor, Dr. Dike.

    Before his demise, Agoro’s intimidating height attracts stares anywhere he went.  He was 7ft 4in tall.

    Residents of Akoka/Bariga commitment have started to send in their tributes.

    The chairman Akoka CDA, Segun Adesanya confirmed his demise.

    He said: “Afeez Agoro lives on community road and it’s sad we lost a promising young man. May his soul rest in peace.”

    Actor Treat Williams dies after motorcycle accident

    Treat Williams, the actor best known for his role on “Everwood,” died in a motorcycle accident at age 71.

    His death was confirmed on Tuesday by his agent Barry McPherson.

    Around 5 pm (2200 GMT) Monday, Williams was riding his motorcycle on a Vermont road when a car cut him off.

    “He was killed this afternoon,” McPherson, his agent of 15 years, said.

    He was making a left or a right and a car cut him off.

    “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.”

    Williams was lifted to a hospital by helicopter sent from Ticonderoga in New York, but could not be saved.

    From 2002 to 2006, Williams led the WB series “Everwood” as the kindly Dr. Andy Brown.

    More recently, he was seen as Lenny Ross in “Blue Bloods.”

    He gained acclaim at age 28 in the movie version of “Hair,” earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best New Star.

    He went on to “Prince of the City,” “Smooth Talk” opposite Laura Dern and “Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead.”

    In all, Williams racked up more than 120 film and television credits over a four-decade career that was still going strong.

    He is survived by his wife, Pam Van Sant, and their two children, Gil and Elinor Williams.

    Veteran Yoruba actor, Prince Adewale Adeyemo, died on Monday morning after a brief illness.

    The news was announced by fellow actor, Kunle Afod, on his Instagram page.

    Sharing a picture of the deceased, Afod wrote, “Hmmmm God you know best RIP Prince Adewale Adeyemo.

    “He passed on early hours of today after a brief illness. God will comfort all his family, friends and colleagues.”

    This comes hours after the Yoruba movie industry held a night of tribute for late Murphy Afolabi, who passed on May 14, 2023.

    The family of late Nollywood Yoruba Actor, Murphy Afolabi in Osogbo, Osun, says his death is so saddening and heartbreaking to them.

    Mr Yusuf Lateef, the family head of Fetuata, Afolabi’s family compound in Osogbo, said on Monday that the news of the death of the actor left everyone of them crying.

    He said the information they got about Afolabi’s demise was that he collapsed in the bathroom.

    He said he was rushed to the hospital thereafter, where he was pronounced dead.

    He said his body was deposited at the morgue and that he would be buried later today.

    “Initially we were planning to have him buried here, in Osogbo  but his children insisted that he should be buried in Lagos, where he resides with his family.

    “As  his family in Osogbo, we  have been meeting and  making plans concerning his burial and we will be sending representatives to Lagos this morning. (today),” he said.

    Afolabi, 49, a Yoruba actor, producer, and director, was reported to have collapsed and died in his bathroom, in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Sunday morning

    Afolabi’s death was announced by Tunde Ola-Yusuf, a fellow actor in Nollywood.

    Sharing a picture of the actor, Ola-Yusuf wrote: “REST IN PEACE. “May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.

    “Good night Muphy Afolabi.”

    In another post, Ola-Yusuf said: “We lost a strong Filmmaker Muphy Afolabi. May God Rest your soul Bro.”

    Another Veteran Nollywood actor, Adedigba Mukail, popularly known as Alafin Oro, is dead.

    Recalled that fellow veteran actor, Saint Obi reportedly died after battling with an undisclosed ailment.

    According to a Yoruba actor, Kunle Afod said, Alafin Oro died in the early hours of Saturday.

    He wrote: “Another library is burnt down today. A great philosopher. An icon with so much Yoruba knowledge.

    “A lover of God @alafinoro1. You departed this sinful world early hour of today. May your gentle soul rest in peace.

    Movie stars, as well as fans, are showering prayers on Ibrahim Chatta after the actor shared a cryptic post crying for help.

    Chatta, in an Instagram post, sought divine intervention over an undisclosed matter, revealing he was worn out.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the 52-year-old actor earnestly prayed to God to come through for him, admitting he’s been trying but was now tired.

    “I am TRYING but I am TIRED. Dear God, please send HELP,” he prayed.

    Nollywood celebrity couple, Adeniyi Johnson and Oluwaseyi Edun, has been blessed with twin babies after seven years of marriage.

    This was announced by the Actor on his official Instagram handle on Monday with a display of his hands cuddling those of the babies.

    Johnson, who appreciated God for the blessings, disclosed on his post that he had waited seven years before the arrival of the twins.

    He hinted that his wife and the babies are in good state.
