Coup: Military intervention in Niger Republic could spell doom for Nigeria – Adama Garba

Adamu Garba, one of the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has alleged that the United States and France have set a trap for the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, to go into a total war in the West African sub- region.

Garba posited that any attempt of military intervention in Niger Republic could spell doom for Nigeria.

His statement came off  the heels of the seven-day ultimatum issued to General Abdourahamane Tchiani, the mastermind of the  coup in Niger Republic, to return power to Mohammed Bazoom.

The decision formed part of resolutions reached at the emergency meeting of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, which was held in Abuja, Sunday.

Garba urged President Bola Tinubu to be courageous enough to resist pressure from France and U.S for the ECOWAS to wage any military action against Niger.

The APC politician made this known via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday.

The APC chieftain called on Tinubu to opt for a non-kinetic and diplomatic approach.

He wrote, “The West, under France and the U.S have perfectly set a TRAP for ECOWAS to go into a total war in the region. Any mistake of military intervention in Niger means we are done with.

“President Tinubu must be courageous enough to resist French and U.S pressure on ECOWAS to wage any military action against Niger. We must use a non-kinetic, diplomatic approach.

“If we make a mistake of involving military means in Niger, we may end up inviting more internal problems to ourselves and to the effort we made so hard in building a democratic government in place.

“The truth of the matter is, West Africa has failed to protect democracy. Our only option now is to learn from the failures and prevent repeating it, not to completely destroy our region in the interest of Western Powers, against our security interests.”

2023 Elections: Garba knocks Obasanjo for endorsing Peter Obi

One of the loyalists of the Bola Tinubu the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Adamu Garba has knocked former President, Olusegun Obasanjo over his endorsement of the Labour Party’s flag bearer, Peter Obi.

Garba made this statement in one of his New year’s day post on his verified Twitter handle on Sunday.

He berated Obasanjo for endorsing Peter Obi, accusing the Egba high chief of being envious of the heights Tinubu has attained in politics.

Recall that Obasanjo had in a lengthy New Year message to Nigerians, endorsed Obi amongst other presidential candidates for the 2023 election, saying he remains a better candidate.

However, the endorsement did not sit well with Garba, who took to his Twitter handle to express his displeasure.

He wrote, “Envy is an immense disease. I respect & continue to respect General Olusegun Obasanjo. However, I advise him to outgrow his envy of Tinubu at this stage of his life.

“Obasanjo is desperately envious of the rise and shine of Bola Ahmed Tinubu; his lost (sic) in this one is sure to come.”

Rename University of Nigeria after Queen Elizabeth – Adamu Garba

A former presidential aspirant under the auspices of  the Young Progressives Party (YPP) Adamu Garba, has appealed to the Nigerian Government to rename the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, after the late Queen Elizabeth II to immortalize her.

Aside from the appeal to immortalize the late Queen Elizabeth, he also added he would have declared three-day national mourning if he was the president of Nigeria.

Garba tweeted that the president of the country should look into this direction.

His tweets read: “If I’m the President of Nigeria today, I’ll declare three days of national mourning for the death of The Queen Elizabeth II of England.

“Immortalizing Queen Elizabeth by renaming the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in her honor would’ve been an easier deal if I were communicating with our grandparents. Fortunately, they knew her worth.

“Age is grace & 7 decades on the throne can only be the work of God and Grace.

“To immortalize Queen Elizabeth, we should rename the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to Queen Elizabeth University of Nigeria since it is the first University in Nigeria.”

  • Finally, Adamu Garba drops presidential ambition

Finally, Adamu Garba drops presidential ambition

After backing out of the race for the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), serial presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba II has finally dropped his ambition to contest the 2023 presidential election.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Garba dropped out of the 2023 presidential election, citing various reasons and saying he was not satisfied with the level of consultation carried out for his 2023 presidential ambition.

He, however, expressed determination to contest future elections in the country despite challenges he elucidated in a statement he released on Tuesday.

Garba stated: “In line with my aspiration for the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the coming 2023 general election, we have identified some critical factors which are currently at odds with our aspirations and desire to bring about positive change to the Nigerian political space Below are the most critical among them identified factors:

“1 There is a need for widespread consultation and rally of the interest of the country’s stakeholders, nationwide. This we did not achieve to some satisfaction.

“2. Nigerian Youth, whose agenda is what am projecting is mostly disconnected and in silos, there is a need for proper networking among in, to build a network of like-minds, that genuinely care for Nigeria within the Youth constituency This will require a longer time and nationwide consultation, and interest. building/alignment with stronger bonding among all classes of the Youth.

“3. There is a need for developing a structure that will ensure a pool of resources across the board for us to succeed in our journey to the office of the President.

In view of the above, we have decided to suspend our aspiration for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the coming 2023 general elections.

“I have made this decision after consulting with my closest associates, friends, family, and other high level stakeholders and elder statesmen within and outside the country.

“These three constraints, which are evidently clear for all to see, are deep-rooted issues that require our collective action to address over a longer period of time. It could not have been done within the eight months on the campaign trail.

“It is with this in mind, based on facts, that I must drop my intention to aspire for the office of the President in the coming 2023 election while opening a new chapter of working hard with critical stakeholders, the network of like-minds, with mutual trust and understanding among the youth across the country while building a resource domain may be unconscious for me to take on the aspirations after identifying genuine gaps that are caused by the circumstances within our limitations. It may not be good to raise the hope and interest of the young people high while in fact, there are instrumentations that needed to be put in place before we proceed

“I have made it categorically clear that my only interest in Nigerian Politics is in the office of the President am therefore not going to change my stance on this, however, the factors highlighted above tell me it will be another time, but not the coming 2023 general election.

“I promise you that will carry you along on all issues related to my desire for the greatness of this country. I must also have the courage the face the facts on the ground which might affect the campaign and accept it even if it goes contrary to my personal interest.

“Politics of the Presidency is a much larger interest game and I intend to succeed in that. To do so, I need to ensure that put forth the basic ingredients required. As the Almighty God said, “If you need success in an undertaking, prepare all necessary instruments for it.”

“To my supporters and partners in this movement, I thank you most immensely for your unceasing support, despite all the challenges we have faced over time. Our voyage in the last five years isn’t enough, we must continue to remain resolute, and we must do more for this country. assure you that the journey toward Nigeria’s greatness is unstoppable and you will always remain the factor of this continuity.

“To those of you who are on the ballot of various political parties, count on my support. am and always will be there for you all in the interest of moving Nigeria HG forward. We will work together for your success, will be reaching out to you on your progress, to render my support. I urge you also to reach out to me whenever you need my attention.

“To all Nigerian Youth Male or Female. am coming for you. I will reach out to you. We must have to work together to deliver a greater Nigeria. We must not relent, we must not demur, we must not give up. We will all have the country of our dream in Nigeria. I am coming.

“The Nigerian Project is the Project that everyone is required to put his/her hands on the desk to ensure we deliver for the future generations of Nigerians. We are just starting. Let’s continue with the movement to make Nigeria great. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you”.

  • Garba advises Northerners to leave Anambra immediately

A former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has called on Northerners living in Anambra State to leave with immediate effect.

Garba, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), said this on his verified Twitter account, @adamugarba while reacting to the killing of a woman and her four children identified to have hailed from the North.

They were killed by gunmen in Anambra State last Sunday. Garba identified the woman as Fatima from Adamawa State in the Northeast region. The outlawed separatist group in the Southeast, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been accused of being behind the murder of the woman and her children, but the group has denied the allegation.

In his tweet, Garba said, “In the whole world, there’s never a terrorist organization that is as cowardly as IPOB. More so, there are no ones (sic) given unto self-destruction than their silent supporters

“The gruesomely murdered Fatima & her kids are from my state, Adamawa. I mean are we really in same country? “The double standard is unimaginable. It seems like lives in Nigeria have two grades.

“The whole media went silent, the whole online so-called hypocritical agitation and fake-minded Human right fighters were nowhere to be found.

“Worst is, the govt can’t & won’t do nothing about it.n“The faster we realize that Nigeria need complete political decentralization and everyone should take care of their regions, the better for us.

“Why can’t people like Fatima and other people endangered in Anambra come back home since the govt won’t protect or even care about them?

“We should stop pretending or trying to be politically correct. This country is not designed for equality and fairness to all citizens.

“The concept of everyone can live everywhere is constantly attack by terrorist (sic) like IPOB & their silent supporters, while our people keep dying.

“Until & unless a strong government is put in place, which will guarantee the protection of lives & properties of Nigeria anywhere they are, citizens have right to vacate where they are endangered.

“Hence the need for the likes of late Fatima to come back home where they are valued. “Let all the people of Northern Nigeria vacate Anambra state with immediate effect. Retweet if you agree.”

  • 2023: Adamu Garba bows out of race for APC presidential ticket

2023: Adamu Garba bows out of race for APC presidential ticket

After raising funds from supporters, frontline presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba has backed out of the race for the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Garba made this known on Tuesday when he addressed a press conference, where he emphasized that the cost of the APC nomination and expression of interest forms was prohibitive.

Addressing the press conference, the serial presidential aspirant especially expressed concerns over the postdated letter of voluntary withdrawal from the contest that is part of the nomination and expressions of interest forms.

Garba meanwhile promised to make refunds to those who contributed funds to purchase the APC nomination and expression of interest forms for him.

The text of the press conference reads: “I call this conference to notify Nigerians and my supporters all over the country that after high-level deliberation with our internal campaign team, we have concluded that we will not be obtaining the expression of interest and nomination form for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of the APC. Our team has determined the following:

“Our generation should not set an example as part of the people that supported the financialization/commercialization of our political space, especially the public office, considering the prohibitive cost of the nomination forms. The highest in the world. We believe this action is capable of over-financializing our political space, institutionalizing vote-buying, encouraging corruption, and complete obliteration the youth and the poor from participation.

“When we raised this concern on several media fora, the party, however, believed the high cost of form will separate the serious contenders from unserious ones. This goes contrary to our belief that you can only separate serious contenders from unserious ones by the competency, capacity, credibility, strength of the program, workable solutions, and sellable candidate to Nigeria through rapid intraparty debates and other high-level criteria reviews that can ensure we present a better leader for future for Nigeria.

“We further discovered that even if we went ahead to obtain the form, the party has foreclosed the plan for primary election because of the presence of the request for a Letter of Voluntary Withdrawal on page 18 of the nomination form.

“I cannot, in all honesty, rally funds from my supporters in the hope that we will be having a primary election, then sign a postdated letter of voluntary withdrawal from the contest.

“The party, from its convention to this moment, has taken several steps that may dent our democratic credentials as we venture into the third decade of our uninterrupted democracy. These steps, if not changed, could reverse the gains we make over time and return us back to centrist, sycophantic, patronage-driven unitary systems, a situation we must avoid at all costs in the interest of the future of Nigeria.

“Recalled that I had made a similar lamentation to the APC in the run-up to the 2019 election, it appears, with this decision, the party clearly shows that only money matters in who becomes the leader of the largest black nation on earth and not other critical tenets of character required of a 21st-century leader.

“We have recorded the sum of N81,750,000.00 in private donations and N1,457, 794.70 in online donations. Totaling N83,207,794.70. We sincerely, immensely, and graciously thank everyone for these wonderful contributions and donations, including those who made theirs anonymously.

“We, however, request that all those who donated online and who require a refund send an email with evidence of payment on the attached document to assure you of a complete refund upon request.

“Those that made private donations, we know them, we will meet them and settle this out.

“Incidentally, if your donations are done for pursuing our course for the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the coming 2023 election, the battle is not over yet. Kindly do bear with us for further directives in the coming days.

“I deeply, immensely appreciate my supporters, friends, well-wishers, and the well-meaning Nigerian Youth who contributed unceasingly to this journey. We are just starting, Insha Allah”.

  • 2023: Presidential aspirant suggests renaming Nigeria to Nigritia

2023: Presidential aspirant suggests renaming Nigeria to Nigritia

A presidential aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba has suggested that Nigeria should be renamed Nigritia.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Garba made this known on Tuesday via his official Twitter handle, where he stressed that “Nigritia is our ancient name before Lady Lugard renamed it to Nigeria”.

The presidential aspirant said if given the opportunity through the 2023 general elections to serve as president of the country, his government will propose the change of name to the National Assembly (NASS).

“How about we rebrand this country, properly federalize it and rename it to “The Nigritian Federation” or simply NIGRITIA. After all, Nigritia is our ancient name before Lady Lugard renamed it Nigeria.

“This is part of our blueprint. Insha Allah, our govt will propose this to NASS.

“It is high time to clean ourselves from negative stereotypes, reorganize ourselves and reclaim our country away from our colonial identities and divisions to our own definitions of unity, integration, tolerance and cohesion. This is our country, we shall make it great Insha Allah.

“If Ghana can change its name from the Colonial Gold Coast, Kenya from British East Africa, Benin from Dahomey, Togo from Togoland, etc, why would Nigeria maintain a colonially induced name?

“We should rename this country back to its pre-colonial NIGRITIA. Identity is everything,” Garba tweeted.

He further went ahead to make a video of the way to pronounce the newly proposed name.

  • APC presidential candidate, Adamu Garba seeks on Twitter #100m nomination form for party

APC presidential candidate, Adamu Garba seeks on Twitter #100m nomination form for party

Similar to Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, failed plan to spend N50 million on the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination forms ahead of the 2023 general elections, another presidential candidate of the party, Adamu Garba, has taken to social media to solicit for funds to enable him purchase it.

Recall that Ngige’s plans were disrupted after APC pegged the price for presidential forms at N100 million, leaving him to say his ‘supporters’ will raise the money.

Adamu, a strong supporter of the APC, was taken aback by the price of the form calling it “insensitive”.

Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote: “I’ve made my life so transparent that if the young generations of Nigeria follow me on Business and Politics, you’ll find it easy to navigate and build on my successes and avoid my failures without the need for reading a book.

“Follow me. Somebody got to do this for our generation.

    “Dear Nigerians,

“My project with you has started. To those of you who made pledges of donation, here is the account number

    *********** | Zenith.

“100M for the form is insensitive, but our collective contribution to get this form will send a strong signal that we care about Nigeria.”

The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) had on Wednesday, fixed the cost of its interest form at N30 million and the nomination form at N70 million.

A 50 per cent discount was, however, approved for candidates less than 40 years and free tickets for women and persons living with disabilities.

2023: APC presidential aspirant reacts to cost of nomination forms

Adamu Garba, a presidential aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the cost of the party’s nomination forms.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports APC has pegged its Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the 2023 presidential and governorship aspirants at N100 million and N50 million respectively.

According to the party, aspirants for senatorial positions would pay N20 million for the forms, House of Representatives, N10 million and House of Assembly aspirants N2 million.

Reacting to the development, Garba, who recently announced his intention to join the presidential race said the cost of the nomination forms amounts to buying political offices.

“100M for the form. Wow,” Garba stated in shock, adding: “If we don’t come together and use our collective power to save this country from strangulation of the moneybags, we are doing a great disservice to our generation and that of the future.

“We cannot continue to buy political offices in Nigeria, we need competent leaders come 2023”.

Meanwhile, the APC is to commence the sales of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to aspirants in the forthcoming 2023 general election on Saturday.

The party’s NEC had approved May 30 and June 1, for its special convention for its 2023 presidential primary election and May 18 for its governorship primary.

However, forms for the party’s female aspirants and persons with disability would be free for any elective positions in the coming 2023 general elections.

Youth between the age of 25- 40 years would have to purchase the forms at a discount of 50 per cent.

  • Marry your baby mamas, embrace polygamy like us- Adamu Garba

Marry your baby mamas, embrace polygamy like us- Adamu Garba

Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant, says 2Baba, Nigerian singer, should marry his baby mama.

Garba took to Instagram on Saturday to express his opinions on 2Baba’s marital strife with Annie Idibia, his wife.

TheNewsGuru recalls that Annie had condemned 2Baba for spending nights with his baby mama on the ground that he was visiting his kids.

Speaking on Annie’s outburst, Garba said Pero should have been the first wife if not for 2Baba’s “negligence”.

“I will like to advise him to tow our path of polygamy. There is no reason why you have a wife, I can’t call her a baby mama with all due respect. This woman has three children, two sons and a daughter,” Garba said.

“So automatically, she is a wife. His eldest children are with this Pero lady. If not for negligence from his own side, Pero should have been his first wife then Annie can be the second wife.

“To the best of my knowledge, the best solution for 2face now is to accelerate the process of bringing Pero as a wife into the family. Not just as a second wife, maybe the first wife.

“Because, as of right, she should be the first wife. You can’t have her and call her baby mama. That’s negligence. 2Face should marry her, bring her into the family, and see the perfect stability from Annie’s side.

“She will never rant online again. You can’t keep women. That’s why people like us have two and we’re thinking of having the third and fourth. 2Face should tow the path of his culture and bring his baby mamas to be his wives.”
