No PDP exco-member has joined ADC in Yobe – Group

The People’s Democratic Party Support Group in Yobe has said that no any executive member of the party in the state has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

A trending online media report claimed that the state PDP structures have collapsed into the ADC, following the recent defection of Adamu Waziri, a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), into the ADC.

Waziri, who announced his exit from the PDP at Dogo Tebo Ward Centre in Potiskum on Monday, claimed that “ the current PDP leadership and the party’s tone no longer aligned with the vision of a credible opposition party”.

Alhaji Lawan Munkaila, who led the group, stated this at a news conference in Damaturu on Wednesday, while reacting to the report.

“Let it be known loud and clear; the PDP in Yobe is not dead. It is not divided and not weakened. Rather, it remains the most organised, experienced, and people-oriented political platform.

“We are here today to debunk the baseless rumour that our party structure has collapsed into the ADC. That is a lie. No official executive of the PDP-from ward to state level -has joined the ADC,” he said.

Munkaila said the only one that left the PDP was Waziri whom, he alleged, was never truly loyal to the party that offered him so much,  including minister, senator and a governorship candidate.

“Instead of remaining loyal and contributing to the progress of the party that made him politically relevant, he chose to engage in anti-party activities, and when exposed, he jumped ship to the ADC – a party with no structure or grassroots acceptance in Yobe,” he said.

Munkaila claimed that the PDP was not rattled by Waziri’s defection in any way.

“In fact, it is a relief. The PDP is now cleaner, more united, and more focused without elements of betrayal within,” he said.

Munkaila, therefore, urge the public to disregard the “noise” from ADC, saying PDP remained the most credible political force in the state.

COUP ALLEGATION: We’ll flush out Tinubu with ballots, not bullets — ADC replies Presidency

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that President Bola Tinubu will be democratically flushed out of office through the ballot box, not by force, as it dismissed allegations of plotting to overthrow the government.

The party’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this known stated this in a strongly worded statement responding to a tweet by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Onanuga had alleged that the opposition coalition, led in part by the ADC, was plotting to overthrow President Tinubu before the 2027 general election. He described the opposition’s growing alliance as a threat to democratic stability.

In response, Abdullahi described the statement as “reckless, unsubstantiated, and a clear attempt to intimidate opposition voices.”

“The ADC condemned the tweet made by an aide of President Bola Tinubu, Onanuga, which alleges that the opposition is planning to overthrow the Tinubu government before 2027. If anything, it potentially lays the grounds for a systematic clampdown on opposition leaders,” he said.

The party reiterated its full commitment to democracy, stressing that it has no intention to subvert the constitution but will instead present a credible alternative to Nigerians through lawful means.

“We are not soldiers; we are politicians. We don’t have bullets; we only have the ballots. When the time comes, we will present our solutions and an alternative vision to Nigerians and let the people decide,” Abdullahi added.

He further accused the Tinubu administration of creating a narrative of threat to justify repression and silence growing opposition voices ahead of the 2027 elections.

ADC not for one person, no discrimination – David Mark

The acting National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, says that the party is for all Nigerians and would not discriminate against anyone.

Mark, who stated this on Wednesday in Makurdi at the unveiling of the coalition, said that all members of the party would have equal opportunities.

The national chairman, who was represented by Sen. Gabriel Suswam, former governor of Benue, emphasised that the party belongs to all the people, adding that it was not owned by anyone.

“There will be no discrimination or shortchanging of anyone. Everyone will be treated equally, regardless of who you are.

“The party is for the people, not for one person. We want the people to take ownership of the party, which is why we encourage you to consult and nominate potential leaders.

“None of us will get involved directly in this process, and all sections of the society will be represented. There will be a state leader for the disabled, women and all other groups.

“So, let no one feel agitated about the potential leadership here. I have sent a message to let you know that I stand with all of you in Benue who are interested,” he said.

Mark announced a 7-man pro tem leadership of the party, which he said was constituted after wide consultation.

The national chairman said that the former Rep. Terngu Tsegba’s leadership would supervise the registration of new members and would exit office after 30 days beginning from July 9.

He listed the members of the pro tem leadership to include Mr Terngu Tsegba – Chairman, Mr Samson Okwu – Security, Mr Stephen Ayua – Publicity Secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Alagh – Member, Prof. Cletus Tyokyaa – Member, Mr Abeji Egwa – Member and Mr Atoo Agber – Member.

In his remarks, Mr Terngu Tsegba, the pro tem chairman, assured that they would be honest in all their dealings with members.

Tsegba said that they would strive to observe the rules and regulations of the party and that they would nurture the party to election victory.

“The ADC will rule this state with the fear of God; we will adhere to the constitution. We will provide good governance and ensure your security.

“We will work to ensure that all our internally displaced people return to their ancestral homes. We will grant local government autonomy, not just on paper.

“Our ADC government will ensure that all local governments receive their subventions directly into their accounts.

“On day one of the ADC government, the Bureau of Local Government will be scrapped. I want to assure you that this is a new era.

“For all our youth, especially those of you without jobs, ADC is your solution. Our government will not be sectional. We will ensure equitable distribution of offices throughout the state.

“ADC will treat everyone as a stakeholder in this state—whether you are rich or poor, young or old, from any tribe, we will treat everyone equally,” he said.

Speaking for the people of the Benue South Senatorial District, Chief David Olofu announced that the entire zone has embraced the new party and is battle ready for the 2027 election.

We will evict Governor Alia from office in 2027 – ADC

The Pro Tem Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State, Mr Terngu Tsegba, has said the party will evict Gov. Hyacinth Alia from the Government House in the 2027 general elections.

Tsegba stated this on Wednesday during the unveiling of the coalition in Makurdi that they would be honest in all their dealings with members.

The former House of Representatives member who represented the Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency three times said that they would ensure that Alia does not return.

He said if elected, the ADC administration would grant full local government autonomy and disband the joint account.

The pro tem said they would also scrap the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Benue.

According to Tsegba, they would observe the rules and regulations of the party and nurture it to victory.

“The ADC will rule this state with the fear of God; we will adhere to the constitution. We will provide good governance and ensure your security.

“We will work to ensure that all our internally displaced people can return to their ancestral homes. We will grant local government autonomy, not just on paper.

“Our ADC government will ensure that all local governments receive their subventions directly into their accounts.

“For all our youth, especially those of you without jobs, ADC is your solution. Our government will not be sectional. We will ensure equitable distribution of offices.

“ADC will treat everyone as a stakeholder in this state, whether you are rich or poor, young or old, or from any tribe; we will treat everyone equally,” he said.

Tsegba further announced that all members of the coalition have already resigned their membership of their previous parties in the state and would now register with the ADC.

He further called on all members of other political parties in the state to join the party so as to deliver good governance when elected.

Sen. Oker Jev, who spoke for the Benue Central Senatorial District, expressed confidence in the party’s leadership to reclaim power in the state.

Jev said that party ADC was blessed with experienced and competent leaders to lead the state out of the doldrums.

Mr Chile Igbawua, who spoke for Benue North, assured the people that they would not be disappointed for supporting the ADC.

  • ‘Desperate politicians’ and other stories – By Pius Mordi

‘Desperate politicians’ and other stories – By Pius Mordi

Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr, the French critic, journalist, and novelist, made one of the most often quoted statements in 1849. “The more things change, the more they remain the same”, he said in his satirical publication ‘Les Guêpes’ (The Wasps).

He may have used it to express the idea that despite superficial changes, certain fundamental aspects of society or human nature stay constant. It has been accepted as an eternal truth and applies to political and economic issues.

This was what came to mind as Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s spokesman, issued his rebuttal shortly after the new political coalition, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was born. It was an attempt to brand the new party as one designed to drag Nigeria. He dismissed the group as one that poses a threat to Nigeria’s democratic progress and stability.

That sounded very familiar with what transpired in 2014 when the tables were different. Then APC was called an alliance of strange bedfellows who had no game plan on what to do with power except the desire to just capture it from the ruling PDP.

APC was portrayed as a coalition of diverse groups with conflicting interests, suggesting it would not be a cohesive or sustainable political force. To PDP spokespersons at the time, the newly formed opposition party will implode sooner than later due to internal conflicts before the end of 2014. The rest, they say, is history.

Against the backdrop of repeatedly acknowledging that former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was an unmitigated disaster, Onanuga and his team have their job cut out convincing Nigerians that APC, the same APC that saw Buhari through his eight years in office, is the real deal and not the “political desperados driven by personal ambition and bitterness” he labelled ADC. Onanuga’s predecessor in 2014, Lai Mohammed unleashed a series of salvos, many vitriolic, that really hurt Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his government at the time.

He labelled the PDP government as corrupt and inefficient, and highlighted issues like the handling of the Boko Haram insurgency and economic challenges. He perfected the art of blaming the PDP for what ordinarily should have been the electoral liability APC undertook to fix. By May 2016, Lai had laid the ground work for Buhari’s penchant to blame PDP for his failures he employed well into his second term. “President Jonathan’s men have stolen so much; they are richer than government,” Lai Mohammed often repeated.

Specific criticisms included accusations of failing to tackle corruption effectively, mismanagement of the economy, and a weak response to the growing threat of Boko Haram and also portrayed Jonathan’s government as lacking transparency and accountability. It is a template ADC may not need to rejig now they are on the other side.

Just months after Tinubu unleashed the rash of policies that overnight dragged millions of homes into multidimensional poverty bracket, the “bring our corruption back” mantra that trended from Nigerians was a stark reminder to the new government that its reforms had made life excruciatingly challenging for them.

Now that the tables are turned, Bolaji Abdullahi and his ADC media team may not have to change anything if they haul the words wholesale back to APC. And if alleged looters in PDP were wealthier than the government as Lai alleged, that much can be said of the President’s men. Ironically, one of the Tinubu’s main men is not even a member of the ruling party, not officially at least.

Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, takes delight in flaunting his Rolls Royce luxury car in public official functions after hounding his elected successor out of office with Aso Rock’s undisguised backing. He is just one of the many, the only difference being that others may be more discretional and have more emotional intelligence than him.

Team Onanuga no longer has the multiple fronts they enjoyed in 2014 this time. What they see as the most effective strategy so far is keep attacking Peter Obi who was not even part of the fray in 2014. Obi was derisively reminded that he only came third in the 2023 presidential election.

But that belies the barely concealed fear in the ruling party of the man who defeated Tinubu in his home state, Lagos and made inroads in other zones at a time he was not reckoned with. The other strategy now employed to demarket ADC is to call the coalition as driven by hatred for Tinubu.

I am not sure what that means, but there is no doubt Onanuga knows that narrative does not gel with Nigerians. A leader is as loved as the good life he gets his people to lead.

Unfortunately unlike in 2015, the election of 2027 will not be determined by the level of false propaganda parroted by the parties. The outcome may be determined by what comes out when a bread winner dips his hand in the pocket.

  • Adelakun dismisses ADC coalition against Tinubu

Adelakun dismisses ADC coalition against Tinubu

A chieftain of the APC in Oyo, Chief Kunle Adelakun, has dismissed the new ADC political coalition aiming to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Adelakun, son of the late Ibadan political strongman Busari Adelakun, stated this during a media chat with journalists in Lagos on Wednesday.

He said Nigerians would reject a group of “strange bedfellows” who, in his view, have never shown any goodwill towards the country.

Recall ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar recently led an opposition coalition adopting ADC as their political platform.

Several opposition figures, mainly from PDP, Labour Party, and others, have since pledged their support for the coalition under ADC.

Adelakun, however, questioned the integrity of some leaders of the coalition, blaming them for Nigeria’s limited democratic advancement.

He criticised the ADC coalition for recycling failed political strategies and accused them of clinging to power at all costs.

“Nigerians have not forgotten. Even if we had amnesia, the effect has worn off,” Adelakun said while mocking the alliance.

“These are the same people who mismanaged the country for years and left Nigeria in disarray,” he added.

He argued that the coalition lacked the political strength and moral standing to rival Tinubu’s rising national popularity.

“At a time when Tinubu’s administration is reforming the nation, it’s sad that some choose to distract Nigerians with tired narratives,” Adelakun stated.

He praised Tinubu’s government for renewing hope in Nigeria’s development through deliberate and impactful policies.

He cited reforms like subsidy removal savings redirected to critical sectors, palliatives for states, and robust investments in food security.

Adelakun also listed the Tax Reform Bill, saying it would improve revenue collection, reduce waste, and strengthen infrastructure and social services.

“No emergency alliances or recycled politicians can derail Tinubu’s momentum. His achievements speak louder than any campaign,” he said.

He noted that those opposing Tinubu might return to the APC after failing again in the 2027 elections.

Adelakun commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for restoring order in Abuja and his steadfast loyalty to Tinubu’s leadership.

  • 2027: Ondo PDP, LP leaders collapse structures, lace boots with ADC

2027: Ondo PDP, LP leaders collapse structures, lace boots with ADC

Ahead 2027 general elections, a former member of the House of Representatives, Bode Ayorinde, has revealed that ex- guber candidates, Eyitayo Jegede and Agboola Ajayi, are among the political heavyweights backing the new coalition under the African Democratic Congress in Ondo State.

Ayorinde made the revelation on Tuesday during the inaugural meeting of the ADC-led coalition held in Akure, the state capital

The coalition, according to him, comprises chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, the Social Democratic Party, the Labour Party, the ADC, and other opposition blocs in the state.

He said, “I’m happy that our number is increasing; we must work together.

” I’m not interested in party positions, I’m not going for elective positions. I wish both aspiring for positions the best of luck.”

“Ondo State will first take advantage of the ADC in the next governorship election. Let all leaders at the ward levels play politics of inclusion.

“We started with 25 members at our first meeting, but now we are over 300. It shows the failure of the ruling party.

Eyitayo Jegede, Agboola Ajayi are also part of us. They are also with us. It is a state coalition, we are united together.”

Ayorinde further noted that Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, a former PDP chairman, Tola Alabere, and ex-spokesman of the PDP in the state, Kennedy Peretei, had also joined the coalition.

In his remarks, Peretei described the development as a major political shift, saying key players across party lines were already aligning under the ADC platform.

“You heard Prof. Ayorinde. He mentioned names. Big names.

“But it’s not even about the big names. It’s about the situation we find ourselves in this state.

“Initially, people said national problems do not translate to collapsing party structures into the ADC.

” But in Ondo State, I know two local governments that have already collapsed their structures for the ADC.

If you say PDP, you say no. PDP doesn’t exist anymore. It’s ADC that exists. And you see it here,” Peretei said.

Peretei added that the APC was under intense pressure from within, noting that even some appointees of the party were fuelling internal crisis.

“The biggest fear in the last two months has been whether Nigeria is sliding into a one-party state.

“Now, nobody is talking about that. And those in the villa are attacking us, attacking personalities, which shows how much heat is on the APC.

“In one week, look at the reaction. What happens if it becomes six weeks?

” After today, there will be ripples in this state. Some people will begin to say no. But whatever it is, it’s about people, not individuals.

“There are members of the APC appointed to this cabinet.

So, there’s a lot of bad blood in the APC, which we are going to take maximum advantage of. Nigerians should expect what’s coming next,” Peretei said.

Also speaking, a former secretary of the SDP in the state, Dr Bisi Agboola, said the coalition was a response to the worsening socio-economic condition in the country and the dominance of the ruling party.

Agboola said,”People who are identified as political technocrats are invited, and that is why people like us are here.

“Everybody is distraught, nobody is satisfied at all.

” I want to see a situation where rice will come back to N5,000 a bag, petrol will be N165 per litre, that’s what we are clamouring for.”

Agboola stressed that defeating the APC would not be possible without a coalition.

“We don’t have to deceive ourselves. No single party can defeat APC anywhere in this country.

As a matter of fact, the coalition must be serious and focused before it can unseat this ruling party because they are firmly rooted.

“But by the special grace of God, and by this prayer, that God will listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the oppressed, APC shall be uprooted. And come 2027, this coalition will be a success,” Agboola concluded.

  • ADC inaugurates former Deputy Governor as Coordinator in Jigawa

ADC inaugurates former Deputy Governor as Coordinator in Jigawa

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated former Deputy Governor in Jigawa, Mr Ahmed Mahmud-Gumel as its Coordinator in the state.

Ahmed-Gumel, who was the deputy to former Gov Sule Lamido between 2007 and 2015, inaugurated along with other executive committee members for the coalition.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration in Dutse, Ahmed-Gumel said that the coalition was aimed at reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape and provide an alternative to the APC-led government.

He added that the ADC was commited to building a just and equitable society and called on citizens of the state and other Nigerians to join the party in order to create a better future for the country.

The former deputy governor further highlighted the party’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort to achieve its goals.

The new coordinator added that the ADC offered a viable alternative to Nigerians tired with the present APC administration.

“The ADC coalition had been gaining support nationwide, with several political groups and individuals defecting to the party.

“The party’s leadership has welcomed these coalition developments and it is committed to building a robust and inclusive democratic process,” the coordinator said.

Ahmed-Gumel, however, warned party members against being disrespectful and abusing leaders, whether in their party or others, and whether in government or in private.

“This behavior is not in line with our social and political ideology, nor is it the intention of the coalition movement to defeat the tyrannical administration of the APC-led government nationwide.

“All what we need from party members is to maintain high level of decorum and respect in their interactions with others.

“Our youths should continue to pray for and support the coalition movement and we assure you that we are ready to continue doing the needful to bring about positive change in our country,” Ahmed-Gumel said.

He expressed the hope that with the support of the people, the ADC coalition would be able to achieve its goals and provide a better future for Nigerians.

The coordinator also expressed optimism about the coalition’s prospects, emphasizing the need for Nigerians to demand better governance and accountability from their leaders.

Earlier, members of the Executives, leading the party in the state, led by Mr Kabiru Hussaini, had announced their stepping down for the successful taking over of the new team assigned to run the affairs of the party as agreed by coalition movement.

During the occasion, th executive declared their decision to step down as state executives and dissolved all other executives at the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.

Speaking shortly after stepping down from their positions, the former ADC Chairman, Hussaini, said that the gesture was to pave way for the successful taking over of the leadership of the party, as well as its structures, by the new members of the coalition led by the new state coordinator.

The outgone chairman added that the development demonstrated their commitment to the party’s growth and unity by making way for new leadership, which was expected to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to its operations in the state.

He also expressed the hope that with prominent politicians joining the coalition, the party was poised to challenge the APC’s dominance in the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, a stalwart of the coalition from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr Bashir Adamu, who represented former member of the House of Representatives (Kazaure-Roni-Gwiwa-Yankawashi), lauded the party’s leadership for the appointment, describing it as a ‘welcome development’.

Adamu called for collective effort to achieve the party’s goals, emphasizing that “We must work together to build a strong presence in Jigawa state and challenge the APC’s dominance in the 2027 general elections”.

He said that the ADC coalition represents a new political force in Nigeria, describing it as the only party that could potentially challenge the APC’s dominance.

“ADC is the party that has the ability to attract prominent politicians and build a strong presence nationwide to reshape the country’s political landscape,” he added.

  • 2027: David Mark opens up ADC having preferred presidential aspirant

2027: David Mark opens up ADC having preferred presidential aspirant

Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Senate President, Mr David Mark, has opened up and said the party has no preferred presidential aspirant for the 2027 presidential election.

Mark stated this while addressing stakeholders of the Kogi chapter of the ADC at a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. He assured Nigerians that, under his leadership, the party would be absolutely transparent.

“The ADC has no preferred or favourite presidential aspirant, but has set out to first put out a platform that would be attractive and acceptable to the majority of Nigerians.

“We are doing this because we do not want this great ship called Nigeria to sink, because if we do not rise up now and it sank all of us will be affected,” he said.

Mark added that all members of the party are “equal stakeholders, equal joiners, equal owners.”

“I don’t own this party more than any of our members and I urge all members to prepare to show Nigerians that ADC is a different party.

“A different party that is ready to properly run democracy in our country. All Nigerians must come together and take ownership of the ADC,” he added.

He urged members to put their differences aside and work as a team, adding that, “we must bond together to build the party before we can talk of ambitions.”

He called on some politicians to stop attacking others, but should concentrate on addressing key challenges facing the nation such as insecurity, which the ADC leadership will tackle if it takes over power.

“Let us continue to work to rebuild our nation and bring out her best in the overall interest of future generations,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Legal Support Group for ADC, Mohammed Sheriff, said that names of non-ADC members were being used to file a suit against the party and its interim leadership.

Sheriff alleged that the names being used to file the suit were neither in the ADC physical nor digital registers in Kogi and Nasarawa States.

Sheriff expressed the group’s readiness to represent the ADC in the courts over the matter filed against the party and its interim officers.

She disclosed that no fewer than 97 lawyers had indicated their preparedness to stand for the party.

Group rallies support for Tinubu, dismisses ADC coalition

A prominent political support group, the Patriotic Movement for President Tinubu Second Term 2027, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the vision and achievements of President Bola Tinubu.

The group made the commitment in a statement on Tuesday signed by its leaders, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Sokoto, Acting National Coordinator; Elder Gbolagade Oladiji, Deputy National Coordinator and Victor Uchechuku, National Secretary.

They urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against what it described as politically motivated distractions.

The movement dismissed a newly formed political coalition—comprising some former governors and political figures—as an “Amalgamation of Discredited Citizens (ADC),” citing their chequered public records and alleged history of political inconsistency.

The group questioned the credibility of key figures in the coalition, including former Governors Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Rauf Aregbesola, and Rotimi Amaechi, asserting that their past actions have contributed little to Nigeria’s democratic progress.

“At a time when the nation is witnessing bold reforms and sustained infrastructure investments under President Tinubu, it is unfortunate that certain individuals seek to distract Nigerians with recycled rhetoric,” the statement said.

It  lauded President Tinubu’s performance so far, such as the ongoing initiatives in energy, transportation, and economic revitalization as evidence of the administration’s commitment to national progress.

The group also praised the president’s courage in tackling long-standing economic challenges with pragmatic policy solutions.

They further called on citizens to “see beyond political theatrics” and remain focused on the collective task of building a stable and prosperous Nigeria.

“As we approach 2027, the choice is between proven leadership and recycled politics. Nigerians must choose vision, experience, and results over empty alliances,” the statement concluded.

  • Opposition coalition adopts ADC in Gombe

Opposition coalition adopts ADC in Gombe

A coalition of opposition parties in Gombe State has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

The coalition includes members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Labour Party (LP), and ADC.

Unveiling the platform in Gombe on Tuesday, Mr Idris Umar, a former Minister of Transportation, said the coalition aimed to rescue Gombe from hardship.

Umar said the coalition was not created to grab power, but to promote good governance and improve residents’ standard of living in Gombe State.

He explained that members of various opposition parties aligned with a national coalition to adopt ADC as a platform for the 2027 elections.

“We are unveiling this partnership in Gombe, built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to put Nigeria first,” Umar said.

He noted that the journey took 18 months of dialogue with political stakeholders, leading to ADC being chosen as the preferred platform.

“We are determined to recruit new members and work closely with ADC leadership in Gombe to ensure the party’s success,” he added.

Umar said the coalition had been tasked with expanding membership to help unseat APC in Gombe and across Nigeria.

A committee chaired by former Gombe deputy governor, Mr John Yoriyo, assisted by Shehu Adamu-Fura, was formed to drive registration.

“We will strengthen the party and open our doors to more members ready to rescue Gombe and Nigeria from present challenges,” Umar stated.

He emphasised the role of opposition in democracy, saying without it, national progress would be impossible.

Umar, a former Senator for Gombe Central, said coalition efforts are key to lifting Nigerians from poverty and securing a brighter future.

“Our focus is to move Nigeria forward, ease citizens’ lives, raise living standards and restore national security,” he said.

He urged youths to shun violence and thuggery, stressing the coalition promotes peace and democratic advancement.

In his address, state party chairman Auwal Barde praised members and urged unity to ensure ADC’s success in Gombe come 2027.
