Adeboye gives reasons why his church members must not pray against enemies

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has shared insights on why believers should refrain from praying against their enemies.

Speaking at the church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service at the Throne of Grace in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, he noted that only those with significant destinies attract envy.

Adeboye emphasized that praying against one’s enemies is illogical, referencing Psalms 23:5, which speaks of God preparing a table before one’s enemies. He posed the question: “If you pray against your enemies, who will be there to celebrate your successes?”

Instead of wishing harm upon adversaries, he encouraged believers to pray for their repentance.

He advised that envy is a sign of greatness, stating, “If you are being envied, it means you have to be great. If you pray for your enemy’s demise, who will celebrate with you?”

Reflecting on his own life, Adeboye shared his amazement at God’s mercy and elevation despite his humble beginnings.

He recounted an experience from a recent trip to an African country for a crusade, where he initially thought he would not meet the president.

However, upon learning of Adeboye’s presence, the president insisted on a meeting that lasted five hours, underscoring the unexpected privileges God had granted him.

Light is not to run from darkness, says Adeboye during Plateau visit

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pst. Enoch Adeboye has insisted he will be visiting Pleateu State every year.

RCCG organised its annual regional convention for 2024 in Plateau, having been suspended for seven years.

The convention held at its campground in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the State.

The annual regional convention was suspended due to the incessant security challenges in the state, particularly in Kassa and neighbouring communities.

Adeboye, who promised to continually commit Plateau in his prayers, added that the current challenges confronting the state would soon be over.

“We were uncertain if this meeting was going to hold this year, but I told them that this year, I must come to Plateau.

”I told them that because light is not to run from darkness, it is darkness that will run from light.

“So I said no more and as the Lord lives, henceforth, I will be here for this convention, “he said.

Speaking at the event, Gov. Caleb Mutfwang, of the state, urged participants at the convention to pray for the return of lasting peace to the state.

He also called on them to promote the positive image of the state in their respective locations, adding that his administration had put modalities in place tackle all forms of security challenges in the state.

“I stand on behalf of the people of this state and perhaps the church in northern Nigeria to welcome our father in the Lord to Plateau.

“Your coming is symbolic; before now the testimony about Plateau is that it’s a no go area, but we believe that the days of such testimony is over.

“Plateau will be a land to be desired and your coming has broken the gate of iron and the glory of the Lord is returning to the land.

“We want to thank you for being led by the Lord to this land of glory, and we trust that as you leave your blessings here, this glory that has been sparked around us will not depart from us.

“I want to thank all of you that have come from far and near and tell it to all who care to listen that Plateau is ready to receive her visitors, so nobody should be afraid of coming to the state”he said.

NAN also reports that the 2024 regional convention had the theme “Promoted for a Purpose”.

Adeboye@82: RCCG GO narrates how he escaped death with driver

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says he is alive because God is wonderful, recalling how he once escaped death by the whiskers.

He spoke at the Redemption Camp, off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun, on Saturday as he clocked 82, with congregants celebrating him.

Adeboye narrated the incident, which many years ago, according to him, could have claimed his life, if not for a miraculous intervention of God.

He referred to an earlier narrative by his former driver of several accidents in which the cleric and his wife escaped death in various incidents on the way to Ilorin, Kwara.

Adeboye said that the most frightening was one in which their vehicle came face to face with a trailer that was coming at full speed on a narrow path, by a bridge which had a river by its side.

“Somehow we passed,” he said, noting that it was a miracle that they escaped unhurt in the incident, which left both him and his driver shaking.

Adeboye said the escape amazed his driver, that all the way to Ilorin, all he was repeating was ‘wonderful.’

“That I’m alive today is because His name is called wonderful,” he said, and prayed that God would be wonderful in the lives of the people.

Adeboye appreciated the church members for celebrating him, praying that none of them would die young, and that they would be greater than him.

He said that his 82nd birthday anniversary also marked the 38th anniversary of the monthly Special Holy Ghost Service organised by the church.

Adeboye thanked God for the lives that had been touched through the programme.

The cleric, at the event, went on to preach on the theme of the Holy Ghost Service – On Eagles Wings.

Preaching from Exodus Chapter 19, he said, “When God hears and takes notice of a person, the life of such a person changes for better.

“God can grab you from the lowest point on earth and put you on the throne.”

According to him, when one’s case is beyond any human assistance, the God who knows will send help.

The cleric said that all God required was faith and holiness, and He was able to give sweatless victory.

He prayed that God would hear the cries of the people, carry them on eagle’s wings and deliver them totally like He did for the children of Israel.

Pastor Adeboye rains heavy curses on killers of Ekiti traditional rulers

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Friday night, rained down fire on the killers of traditional rulers in Nigeria.

The octogenarian preacher said those trying to mess around with monarchs in the country won’t know peace.

“The fire of God will consume all those trying to mess around with our traditional rulers,” the influential pentecostal preacher declared during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service programme tagged, ‘From The Mountain Top 2’.

“Because as far as God is concerned, traditional rulers are anointed,” said Adeboye, the convener of an annual convention for royal fathers in the country.

In a rather bizarre fashion to the escalating insecurity ubiquitous in the country, blood-thirsty marauders gunned down three traditional rulers within four days.

On Monday, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola; and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola were killed when they were returning from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti in Ekiti State, South-West Nigeria.

Some pupils and teachers were also abducted in the interconnected attacks with the gunmen staging a comeback on Thursday with the merciless murder of the Olukoro of Koro, General Segun Aremu (retd), in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The retired army General was shot dead at his palace on Thursday night.

Koro is the adjoining town to Ikole Ekiti where two traditional rulers were mauled to death on Monday. The two towns share farm boundaries, raising concerns over the menacing dimension of the killing of traditional rulers by stone-hearted gunmen.

Security agencies including the police have deployed a chopper and armoured carriers to Ekiti and have vowed to bring the perpetrators to book while Nigerians continue to demand swift justice and an end to the kidnapping and killing epidemic in the country.

  • Why I did not stop Olaoye from contesting Soun Ogbomoso – Pastor Adeboye

Why I did not stop Olaoye from contesting Soun Ogbomoso – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday explained why he refused to stop Pastor Afolabi Olaoye from contesting Soun of Ogbomoso’s stool.

Adeboye, while speaking at the interdenominational thanksgiving services for the traditional ruler at Beulah Baptist Conference, Ogbomoso, said Olaoye was destined to be a king.

Olaoye was a senior pastor in RCCG before being selected and approved for the Soun’s stool. He will receive his staff of office as the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso on Dec. 19.

The cleric, who was replying critics, who queried him for not stopping Olaoye from vying for the position of his forebears in Ogbomoso, said he could not stand against the will of God.

“When he came to inform me about the development, I told him to go and pray.

“Shortly after, he came back and said he has not heard anything and I told him to go back and pray again.

“After a while, he came back and said that God has spoken to him and have heard him loud and clear that he should go ahead.

“It was then that I told him to go because it has been destined, I knew that long ago, but I want God to speak to him directly.

“To my critics, if I said No and God said Yes, whose word is the final, God of course.

“So, I cannot stop him because Pastor Olaoye was destined to be a king even before he was born and thank God it is coming into fruition,” he said.

Adeboye, in his sermon, reading  from Act of Apostles Chapter 15 verse18, counseled the traditional ruler to embrace the people and promote peace and unity among his subjects.

After the sermon, Pastor Adeboye anointed the king and his wife and prayed for his peaceful and prosperous reign as Soun.

Oba Olaoye, while addressing the congregation said, “Pastor Adeboye is my spiritual role model. He has been a father to me; it’s an unforgivable sin if anyone reports me to Pastor Adeboye.

“I am happy that the person who laid a hand on me to become a pastor is the same, who anointed me when I became a king.

“To my people in Ogbomoso, let us work together, let us develop this land and let’s make this land a place, where our sons and daughters will be proud of,  I believe it’s a new dawn for Ogbomoso.

Group of clergymen offered special prayers for the Royal father, Ogbomoso, Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

The clergymen include President, Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Israel Akanji; Bishop Titus Olayinka, Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Pastor J.S. Adegoke, and Rev Solomon Isola.

  • We’ve enough wars within, Nigeria does not need fresh one – Pastor Adeboye

We’ve enough wars within, Nigeria does not need fresh one – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said Nigeria does not need another war as there are enough wars within.

The General Overseer made this assertion during the RCCG Holy Ghost Service of the 71st Annual Convention tagged ‘Beyond Expectations’ at the Redemption Camp, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday.

“We are still fighting wars against hunger, we are fighting some serious wars, and sure we don’t want more wars.

” We want to win the ones we are fighting and we don’t want fresh ones; whether within or without our borders,” Adeboye said.

He explained that he witnessed the Nigerian Civil War between the Nigerian and Biafran sides from July 1967 to January 1970, adding that with what he saw he would rather choose peace over war any day, anytime.

Adeboye said, “Nigeria still needs a lot of prayers. I’m a small boy but I was at the battlefront during the civil war; not as a soldier but I lived near the battlefront and what I saw, if anybody ask me to choose between war and peace, I will choose peace.”

The preacher said Nigeria is already fighting many wars against kidnappers, terrorists, and murderous herdsmen, amongst others, noting that the country does not need more wars but to win the ones it is battling currently.

“And we are already fighting many wars in Nigeria, we are fighting wars against kidnappers, we are fighting wars against terrorists. There are still places in Nigeria today that when people go to bed, they are not sure they would not be killed before tomorrow morning.

“We are still fighting wars against some people who feel that if you are a farmer and you plant, then what you have planted is food for their cows and if their cows come to eat your harvest and you complain, they kill you,” he said.

  • Fervently pray for my death if I’m guilty of demonic consultations – Adeboye tells congregants

Fervently pray for my death if I’m guilty of demonic consultations – Adeboye tells congregants

Due to unfounded accusations recently, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the esteemed General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has emphatically denied claims that he consults demons at the Redemption Camp prior to delivering sermons and prophecies to his congregation.

The respected pastor tackled the allegations head-on during the ongoing August Holy Ghost convention. Adeboye took to the podium on Friday to address the issue after becoming aware of various online publications that propagated the unsettling accusations. The claims, made by self-proclaimed prophets, clerics, and certain groups, have taken social media platforms by storm, prompting the revered pastor to confront the matter with utmost seriousness.

In a passionate address to the congregation, Pastor Adeboye urged his followers to join him in prayer, inviting divine judgment to determine the truth. He appealed to the attendees, saying, “I want you to say this prayer: If Pastor Adeboye has any links with any demonic powers, let him die before the sun rises.

But if he is using your power, multiply the powers by seven folds.”
Pastor Adeboye’s response demonstrated his commitment to transparency and his desire to put an end to the disturbing rumors that have circulated. He emphasized that he would not be bothered by the false allegations, but expressed concern that even some of his own congregation might have fallen prey to the baseless claims. • Why theological education is important to the society – Pastor Adeboye

Why theological education is important to the society – Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCCG), says theological education is very vital in correcting heresies and wrong doctrines in the society.

Adeboye said this on Tuesday during the inauguration of new administrative building and chapel of RCCG Bible College main campus, Redemption Camp, Mowe, Ogun.

Represented by Pastor Joseph Obayemi, National Overseer Emeritus, RCCG, Adeboye said theological education was necessary to guild and train up and coming pastors against wrong doctrine.

“Theological education, such as ours is very vital to our society, especially in this end time when there is a lot of heresies and wrong doctrines in our society.

“This happens when the up and coming pastors, who have no mentor will just climb the pulpit and say so many wrong things.

“And because of the charisma and youthful exuberance, many will continue to follow them, but school like this can be used to guild them.
“If they come for the training, we will teach them that there is difference between being charismatic, anointed by God or being matured spiritually.

“Theological education open our eyes to see more rudiments of Christianity and not just anybody going to the pulpit to preach.

“So, theological education is very necessary for our time and it will continue to be useful, even in the nearest future, ” he said.

Adeboye also said that the new administrative building of the college was a reflection of the glory of God.

In his remarks, Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi, RCCG Continental Overseer, said the Bible college was an integral part of the church.

Odeyemi said the college was crucial to the progress of the church and to maintain the integrity of the doctrine of the gospel.

“The Bible college is an integral part of RCCG.

“An expanding organisation like redeemed, required trained hands and so the college is crucial to our progress and to maintain the integrity of the doctrine and the gospel.

“And that is the reason occasion like this makes us happy and show to us that the college is making progress and the people put in charge not disappointing us, ” he said.

Also, Pastor Josiah Bolarinwa, the provost of the college, said the motivation behind the new building was the resolution of the board of governors to reposition the college to an affiliate of two recognised universities in Nigeria by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Bolarinwa, who noted that the construction of the building started on Oct. 19, 2017, said it was conceived to serve the immediate and future need of the college.

He thanked the General Overseer and his wife for their financial, moral and spiritual support.

  • They sent EFCC to probe me after buying private jet – Pastor Adeboye

They sent EFCC to probe me after buying private jet – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has revealed he was probed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after purchasing a private jet.

He spoke early Saturday during the Holy Ghost Service of the Church, tagged: “Wonderful.”

According to him, the purpose of buying a jet was not for pleasure but because the church has expanded.

He said: “They sent EFCC to come and probe me, “Where did he get the money to buy a jet?” etc. The noise was much. Then one day, I was flying because I didn’t buy a jet for pleasure; the work has expanded to the level that there is no way I can do it by commercial traveling.

“If you want to travel by commercial, you have to wait for their timetable. If I have to wait for their timetable, I won’t be able to do what God wants me to do. I mean to give you an example: I finished in our European Convention in Spain one night, 33 nations gathered together; as soon as I dismissed the program around 12 midnight, I head straight to the Airport to travel over to Hong Kong.

“I arrived in Hong Kong the following day, did what I needed to do and then moved on to Singapore. I arrived in Singapore, did what I needed to do and then headed for Australia. I got to Australia, did what I needed to do, I headed to Papua New Guinea.

“I needed to touch all those places, minister to them, dedicate the churches, ordain pastors and be back before the next Holy Ghost Service. There’s no way I can do that by the commercial plane. That’s what led to the jet. The noise was great and I was becoming a bit disturbed. “Father, what do I do now?”

Adeboye added: “One day I was flying; it was during the day, far above the cloud. I just felt the Holy Spirit saying, “Look out of the window.” I looked out of the window and said, Lord, I can’t see anything. He said, look down at the cloud and I saw a rainbow.

“Now normally a rainbow is an arc but this rainbow that I saw was a complete circle and it was extremely big. I looked down into the center of the rainbow and I saw the shape of a plane. It looks as if the rainbow was moving, always keeping the plane in the middle.

“The Lord said to me, “Son, the shadow you see is the shadow of this your plane. I have you surrounded.”

“I decree to somebody here today, My Father who is a consuming fire will surround you! He said to me, “Don’t  answer them, I have you surrounded.”
