  • Aregbesola congratulates Pastor Adeboye at 76

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has described the Global General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, as ‘the voice of peace and comfort in a troubled and edgy world’ and a harbinger of hope to millions of souls across the world.

The governor, in a statement on Saturday, described Adeboye as a beacon of hope for the numerous hopeless souls, reconciling them with God through his sermons and evangelical engagements all over the world. Aregbesola said few people are chosen by God for this kind of evangelical assignment in a generation, saying such chosen few are rare breed and special creation, who sparingly grace this earthly terrain.

Aregbesola noted that Adeboye is an epitome and embodiment of knowledge, deep faith and a messenger who spread the word of God across the globe untiringly despite his graceful old age. According to the governor, the arrival of the man of God at the threshold of 76 years is an august occasion, which is very special to his congregation across the globe, Nigeria, Osun State, friends and well-wishers across other faiths.

Pastor Adeboye is a well educated man who gave up his brilliant academic career to do the work of God. He is a man of deep faith with apostolic fervour who has taken Christian evangelism to the nooks and crannies of this nation and the uttermost parts of the world. There is virtually no community in Nigeria where his church is not firmly established or any part of the world where there is no parish of the RCCG.

He is also a man of prodigious energy. Even at 76, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down, but his light continues to shine brighter and brighter. He is personally a very humble and meek man. He radiates love and deep affectation, always welcoming all and generous to a fault. He played fatherly role to all. His accommodation knows no bound, transcending, religious, ethnic and class lines. I have found his calming words very assuring even at my most challenging times, whenever I am privileged to meet him.

He is a voice of peace and comfort in a troubled and edgy world; bringing hope to the hopeless and reconciliation with God to the faithless, through his sermons and evangelical engagements all over the world. He is the essential Omoluabi, a gift from our state, Osun, to the world. He has brought honour and glory to our state, indeed the Yoruba race, in particular his Ijesa homestead.”

Benue, Rivers massacres: Adeboye condemns killings; says culprits will soon be exposed

Worried by the incessant cases of killings and kidnappings in the country, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye has condemned the act while assuring that God will soon arrest the perpetrators.

Leading his congregation in prayers, at the February 2018 Holy Ghost Service tagged “Stronger than your enemies – Part 2”, held at the Redemption Camp, Adeboye asked the congregation, which included the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to pray that God should expose and deal with those that are shedding blood, and those that are sponsoring them.

In his words “Father, wherever those who are shedding bloods are hiding, please expose and deal with them. All those who are condoling evil or colluding with them, wherever they may be please expose and deal with them. All those who are sponsoring evil and bloodshed, please expose and destroy them.”

Responding to those who have accused him of being silent on the issue, the General Overseer said “I am a Christian and I belong to the Christian Association of Nigeria which has a President. So whatever the President says is what I say. I am also a Pentecostal and I belong to the Pentecostal Association of Nigeria. So whatever the President says is what I say. That is how to be under authority.”

Recall that over 50 persons were murdered by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State in the first two days of January, 2018. There have also been several cases of kidnappings in some parts of the country. Reports say that the herdsmen started attack since the Benue State Government implemented the anti-grazing law, giving the herdsmen no space to feed their cows.

  • RCCG seeks double blessings, to commence 60-day prayer and fasting

RCCG seeks double blessings, to commence 60-day prayer and fasting

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has declared 60-day prayer and fasting for the church yesterday at the annual Minister’s Thanksgiving of the church at the New Arena, Kilometre 43, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Adeboye announced this prayer and fasting exercise after a prophetic declaration. Thousands of the church ministers from across the country were on ground at the meeting with awards given by Adeboye to the best performing region, provinces on house fellowship, church growth and tithing.

The GO said that first phase of fasting and prayer will start on the 11th of January and end on the 1st of March, while the second phase starts on the 1st of July and ends on the 30th of July, 2018.

He noted that although the church always embarked on 40 days of fasting and prayer annually, but with the 80 days, it is going to be double blessings for every member that obeys.

God, he claimed, told him that stubborn mountains will fall, many people will wake up to realise that their future is not in the hand of any man and as a result, a lot of lost grounds will be reclaimed, while saboteurs will be disgraced and displaced.

He noted that aggressive praise, prayer, giving and faith are important to receiving abundant blessings from God in the New Year.

Adeboye posited further that victory over the challenges of lives is not complete until people make it to heaven, where they will live eternally with God.

He said that the greatest victory of all in life is to finish well in one’s steadfast walk with God.

He said that last year, he lost a couple of his sons in the Lord. “I know that they finished well. Though God took them suddenly that I had no chance to negotiate, they are in heaven laughing and rejoicing that they finished well,” stated the man of God.

The cleric encouraged worshippers to trust in the infinite power of God to heal, deliver, protect and provide for the needy and noted that God can turn against a sinner who refuses to repent of his sin and evil practices.

As a mathematician, I doubted paying tithe, but God convinced me tithing was right – Adeboye

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has spoken again on the raging tithe controversy sparked by controversial On-Air-Personality, Daddy freeze.

This time he said God himself convinced him that tithing was right for Christians.

Recall that in a previous reaction to the tithing controversy, Adeboye warned Christians against the dangers of non- compliance to paying of tithe.

However, the cleric, on Sunday, 3rd December, 2017 edition of his Daily Devotional, titled: “Open Heavens”, said the command to pay tithes on one’s earnings simply places a demand on the Christian to trust God.

Writing on the topic, ‘Tithing Is Trusting’, Adeboye said: “To experience exploits in your life, you must have a personal relationship with God. You must believe that He lives and love Him with all your heart. You must also learn to trust in Him.

“The command to pay tithes on your earnings simply places a demand on you to trust God. Your response to this command shows the level of trust you have in Him.

“If you can pay your tithes correctly, it shows that you trust God for your livelihood, but if you find it difficult to be faithful in doing this, it simply shows that you trust more in your earning than in God to sustain you.

“However, down the line, God convinced me by Himself and I observed remarkable changes in my life.”

    Controversial singer, Dencia curses Adeboye

Controversial singer and beauty entrepreneur, Dencia has rained curses on the revered General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) , Pastor Adeboye.

Her outburst was triggered by a viral video in which the cleric was seen urging the church members to give one billion naira towards the church project.

According to her: ”Let the devil punish this man, cos God’s punishment will be nice. You know what? He is the devil. If you live in Africa and can open your mouth and say this, that mouth needs to be slapped ff your face”

The viral video has sparked various reactions from Nigerians. While some believe nothing should be too big to give to God, others note that urging church members to give one billion naira towards a project, is wrong.

  • How Pastor Adeboye’s prayer saved me from death in plane crash – Oyedepo

Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFCWW), David Oyedepo, has revealed how he almost died in a plane crash recently.

Speaking at the church headquarters on Friday, Oyedepo says before the trip, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye visited him unannounced and prayed for him.

It was the third time Bishop Oyedepo would be involved in near air mishap.

Narrating how this third and most recent accident happened, a pastor in the church, Adebisi, read the report from the aircraft’s pilot, Captain Samuel Adegoga.

“The main malfunction we had in the Cyprus-Israel flight was a stabilizer twin-motor failure. During the said flight that we had the twin motor failure, the auto-pilot could no longer exert the desired pressure to keep the aircraft in the required altitude for stability flight.

“The captain disconnected the auto-pilot, took and returned the aircraft to the required altitude for that phase of the flight. Because the aircraft was out of trim during this takeover, the aircraft abruptly pitched off with much pitch force.

“The captain counteracted it with a pitch down force. These counter forces caused turbulence and movement in the cabin and cargo hold. Heavy items in the cargo section fell from their compartment, making a loud noise, ” the pilot wrote.

“We thank the God of this commission for making the pilot to react promptly. Similar failures in the past have resulted in fatal accidents due to lateness of pilot’s reaction,” Adebisi added.

However, while the pilot saw the incident as mechanical malfunctioning, Bishop Oyedepo said the averted air disaster was a spiritual attack.

His words: “According to the word of God, before the great and dreadful day of the Lord will hit the earth, there will be a restoration of sonship and fatherhood to the body of Christ.

“On Friday preceding the journey that we made, my father in the Lord showed up at 6:30 early in the morning and saw a vision and wasn’t sleeping, and said, ‘Lord, Lord, why seek the living among the dead? No, no…’ So, he took off and landed here before 6:30am. No, there was no idea that he was coming, and there was no discussion after it. The heart of the father will be drawn to the heart of the son to defend.

“Understand what I’m saying. You don’t have inheritance in a pastor; you don’t have in a teacher. Many of us have teachers all our lives. Did they share anything with you when they died? Did any teacher write your name in his will? You only have an inheritance with a father. A good man leaves an inheritance for his children to inherit. Fatherhood is not an accolade, it is a revelation. So, that was not technical failure, it was a spiritual attack that Jesus averted.

“Every prophet sent to you is ordained a father. Elisha shouted: ‘My father! My father!‘ He was the son of Sherphat. Elijah was not his biological father, but he was a prophet sent to him…Every prophet sent to you is sent as a father, not as brother, not as an uncle, not as a friend. I have enjoyed this kind of covering all my life.”

  • We bought redemption camp land for only N6, 000 – Adeboye

We bought redemption camp land for only N6, 000 – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has revealed how much the ministry bought the current campground located along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Adeboye said the ministry as at then bought the massive land for a token of N6,000.

Speaking on a special Independence Day service at the church international headquarters in Ebute Meta, Lagos, the soft-spoken cleric recalled that he was almost forced into debt to purchase 3 acres of land around Iju for N54,000 but he was careful enough not to run into debt.

According to Adeboye, “When this place became too small I asked my elders to look for a bigger space. Then, I just graduated from the university with less than two years. So, they eventually saw a land around Iju for N54,000. Funny enough, I was not even having even N54. My elders were angry with me because I refused to borrow. In fact, if our church was the kind of churches where they vote, I’d have been impeached because I told them I was not going to borrow.

“Few days later, a member was going to Ibadan from Lagos and he saw the land and called that the people were ready to accept N6, 000. I told him not to even negotiate and we quickly paid for it. That is our redemption camp today,” he said.

Speaking further, Adeboye said there is need to pray for Nigeria because some leaders are being controlled by demons.

“We need to pray for Nigeria because some people in charge of huge amount of money belonging to this nation are being controlled by demons,” he added.
