While Nigerians are hungry, govt are thinking of beautifying naira – Adeboye blasts FG

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has criticized the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN for redesigning three series of naira notes.

The clergyman on Friday at the RCCG’s November Holy Ghost Service fumes over the decision by the Federal Government to approve the redesigning, says there’s no sense in beautifying the naira notes when the citizens are hungry.

“You know what is going on in our country. It doesn’t even make sense anymore. Our naira now is not even worth the paper it is printed on.

“While people are hungry, trying to find enough money to buy bread to eat, our bosses are thinking of making the naira more beautiful, even if it can’t buy bread, at least, it will look beautiful.

“We have problems in the land now. Things seem to be getting funnier and funnier. If you don’t learn to laugh in Nigeria now, you will develop hypertension,” Adeboye said.

TheNewsGuru recalls that the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele had on October 26 announced the redesigning of N100, N200, N500, and N1000 notes.

What Christians need to defeat enemies of the nation – Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged Christian to be united irrespective of their denominations.

Adeboye gave the advice at the Chapel of Mercy, Dadin-Kowa, Jos, on Sunday.

He said he was in Jos to commiserate with the family of the Late Rev. Isaac Oyebamiji, the Founder and Senior Pastor of Chapel of Mercy, as well as members of the church.

Adeboye, who described the deceased as one of his spiritual sons, apologised for his inability to visit immediately Oyebamiji died.

”It took me this long to come for this visit because we had a close relationship with your late pastor for over 40 years.

”So, it has not been easy with me trying to accept the fact that he is no more, but I’m here today to condole and pray for his family and indeed all members of this congregation.

”The servant of God has finished his assignment on earth and has gone to be with his maker; ours is to live right so that we will meet him on the resurrection day.

”But I want to use this opportunity to call on Christians in Nigeria to be united in order to defeat the enemies of the nation,”he said.

Adeboye advised family members of the deceased to emulate the good ways of their father and sustain the legacies he left behind.

Responding, Pastor Olutoyin Oyebamiji,  wife of the deceased thanked Adeboye for the visit and described it as encouraging.

Adeboye was accompanied for the visit by his wife, Foluke.

Oyebamiji, 64, died in February after a brief illness in the United States.

He held a doctoral degree in Ministry, with emphasis on ”Leadership and Preaching” from the Asbury Theological Seminary, Kentucky, U.S.

  • Why I don’t advise my church members who to vote for – Adeboye

Why I don’t advise my church members who to vote for – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said he does not advise members of his church who to vote for during elections.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports Adeboye stated this while addressing RCCG congregants at a church service, said his assignment is to pray for people, pray for nations including Nigeria, and that has nothing to do with partisan politics.

He said, “Don’t distract my attention, you will bear me witness, those of you who are genuine members of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). I have never told you this is the person you will vote for, Have I ever said that one? Whether in a secret or open, never.

“I have never said this is the party that you will belong to, I have never said it and I will never say it. And you know why? Because in Redeemed Christian Church of God, every party is heavily represented. We have members of APC, PDP, APGA, Labour Party and some that you don’t even know their names.

“The only reason I never voted is that, if I vote for anyone, I will be unjust to the rest of my children, I am the father of all and I like it that way. All I am saying, I am saying loud and clear, you became Nigerians before you became Christians.”

Although the cleric said this months back, the video is currently trending on social media.

RCCG clears air on Adeboye meeting with Tinubu over Muslim-Muslim ticket

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG had denied reports of its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye meeting with the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

They were reports claiming that Pastor Adeboye met with Tinubu over the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Debunking the claim, the church’s Public Relations Office, in a statement on Tuesday, noted that such a meeting did not hold.

The statement read, “It has come to our notice that some news outlets are reporting that a meeting Between Pastor E.A. Adeboye, The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide, and the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was held a few days back at the Redemption Camp where our esteemed father in the Lord was said to have supported the preferred candidature of the party the former governor is a member of.

“This is to inform the general public that Pastor E.A. Adeboye is under the authority of God, the Christian Association of Nigeria, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, and as such, will not speak on behalf of Christians on issues regarding policies.”“Pastor E.A.Adeboye and the RCCG have not and will not endorse any candidate for the 2023 General elections in Nigeria.”

Noting that the news of the meeting was false, the church warned, “News outlets should desist from spreading false information about Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the RCCG as it defeats the code and ethics of journalism and the full weight of the law will be employed if such happens in future.”

On its official Instagram page, the church added, “The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, did not hold any closed-door meeting with Mr. Bola Tinubu for support of any sort.”

Pastor Adeboye remembers the day God threatened to wipe him out

General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor E.A. Adeboye has told of the day God threatened to wipe him out if he gets swollen headed.
He revealed that that is the major reason behind his humility that people see and talk about.

The popular cleric, who preached on “The Transformation” during the Thanksgiving Service to mark the first Sunday of the month of February, said he was afraid of being wiped out on account of disobedience.

He narrated his encounter with the Almighty God on the Redemption Camp ground at a point the camp that began in the middle of the forest, which he described as the headquarters of witches and wizards, was on the upward swing.

He said he was on his usual prayer walk when he heard God say to him: “son, bend down and draw the picture of a man.”

Adeboye said he quickly obeyed and drew the simplest image of a man.

According to him: “God said to me that I should wipe out the image that I had drawn and I quickly did so with my leg.

“God then said that the day you forget who did this great thing and who made you what you are, I will wipe you out from the surface of the earth and you will never be remembered in human history to have lived on earth.”

Adeboye then said: “I have heard people say that I am humble. Do you think I am a mad man? Do you think I want to be wiped out by God?”

He said he was a wise man and knew the consequences of disobeying the Almighty God.

He cited the examples of Saul, Reuben, Ephraim among others, who disobeyed God, committed sin and the consequences of their actions.

He said Ephraim, for instance, was rendered desolate after he refused to listen to God’s admonitions through His prophets. He stated that God lifted Mannaseh in his stead.

He thanked the RCCG leader for his continued support of his administration.

“You are a good father. So, after consultation, we decided to give you the name ‘Ebidaowei of Bayelsa’, meaning the good father of Bayelsa.

“Our story as a government in Bayelsa will be better told by you, Daddy G.O. When we were told that you were coming to start the year with us, we opened our arms to welcome you,” said the Bayelsa governor.

Mr Diri added, “This government will be two years old on February 14. You have been a part of us, supported us, prayed with us and prayed for us. You have continued to support us by coming to begin the year with us.

“You are a good father. So, after consultation, we decided to give you the name ‘Ebidaowei of Bayelsa’, meaning the good father of Bayelsa.

“As part of our second-anniversary celebration, we have adopted this programme. Bayelsa has been lighted up. Bayelsa will not go back to Egypt.”

The governor advised Christians to participate in politics actively. He gave the advice while speaking at the end of a two-day programme of RCCG’s ‘Light Up Bayelsa Holy Ghost Rally’ at the Oxbow Lake in Yenagoa on Thursday.

He urged Christians not to be aloof to politics or remain unconcerned but rather join to influence decision-making for the good of the generality of the people.

According to Mr Diri, Nigeria needs people who will salvage it from its many crises. He urged the church not to be docile in the face of insecurity, corruption and other vices threatening the country.

  • Why men of God must run when threatened by women – Adeboye

Why men of God must run when threatened by women – Adeboye

General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has told men of God not to fight women, but to run when women threatened to deal with them.

Adeboye, at a special online service on Sunday, cited the case of Elijah and Jezebel to buttress his point.

“Elijah arrived at Jezreel, sat down in his house and was enjoying the victories that had happened. He had just called down fire from heaven.

“He had prophesied and prayed and there was rain for the first time in three years. He had brought about national revival. He had outrun the chariot of the King.

“He was happy but then a message came from the First Lady of the land: ‘I heard what you did on Mount Carmel, I swear to you by my gods by this time tomorrow, you will be like one of the prophets that you killed’. Elijah the great man of God ran, the man who dared four hundred and fifty prophets ran from a woman,” he said.

Adeboye added: “I know a lot of people have said how could that be? Elijah was very wise. I have told you men of God again and again, don’t fight a woman.

“If a woman says she is going to deal with you, run. If you learn to run today, you will be alive to fight tomorrow. The African elders have a saying “the one who knows when to fight and when to run is the one they call the champion”. You must know when to fight and when to run.”

“When Jezebel says “I am coming for you” Elijah did the right thing. He ran,” Adeboye said in a transcribed message by Church Gist.

Omicron: Adeboye berates developed nations over discrimination against Africa

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Thursday, berated developed nations for predicting that Africans will die of COVID-19 like chickens.

He stated this during the church’s annual Holy Ghost Congress programme which was held at the church’s headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The 79-year-old preacher, in a sermon titled, ‘The Siege Is Over’, noted that the church must pray for the siege over Nigeria to be over and not carry placards.

He also sent a strong message to the West, saying though Africa might not have the technology and health infrastructure like developed nations, the black continent has God.

The cleric spoke amid the outbreak of the Omicron COVID-19 variant first detected in South Africa and which has spread to over 50 countries including Nigeria.

Adeboye said, “The highly developed nations of the world believe that they have all the technologies, that they have all the resources, that they can take care of themselves and many of them have forgotten God and then an enemy shows up, an enemy that they cannot see; an enemy that before you know it, it has attacked you and you are already in trouble.

“And they looked at Africa, we have no resources, we have no money, the few doctors we have, have left for greener pastures and they predicted that we will be dying like chickens but they left out one parameter: parameter God, they left out that there is still a group of people, who in their helpless estate, still lift up their eyes to the hills (and) say, ‘God help us’.

“I hear they are talking now, ‘We don’t even know what is going on in Africa?’ They should know. There are still some people who can cry to God, who can say, ‘God help us!’”
