  • Adeboye breaks silence on alleged rape, murder of UNIBEN student in RCCG church

    General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has reacted to the alleged rape and murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100-level Microbiology student of University of Benin, (UNIBEN).

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Uwaila, who was a 100-level Microbiology student of UNIBEN, was allegedly raped and killed by some unknown persons while reading in a Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Benin City.

    Her death has since sparked furious reactions from Nigerians online and offline with many directly attacking the leadership of the church for keeping mute on the dastardly act.

    Reacting, Adeboye on his verified Twitter page commiserated with the family of Uwa even as he called for calm.

    He condemned the act, adding that the church has began investigation into the case and would cooperate with the Nigeria Police to get justice for the victim.

    His tweet read: “All I can do at this time is to pray for the family of Omozuwa and do everything possible working with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book.

    “I and members of my Family condemn this act strongly and urge everyone to stay calm as we are already looking into the matter and cooperating with the police to establish the facts of the shocking incident. #justiceforuwa,”

  • Pst. Adeboye: God told me only those whose time had come will die of Coronavirus [Video]

    Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on Sunday said God revealed to him that only those whose time have come will be killed by Covid-19, he added that great things will come out of the lockdown imposed due to the deadly coronavirus.

    Adeboye in a sermon during a live broadcast to his members on Sunday, predicted that many babies will be birthed in early 2021.

    The cleric, who informed Christians to rejoice during the lockdown, identified David and Elijah and Joseph in the Bible, as persons who became great as a result of lockdown in their lives.

    He said, “let me warn pastors, now I’m busy you are resting. Early next year you will be very busy.


    “As a result of the lockdown you will have a lot of baby naming ceremonies.

    “David, Elijah, Joseph, and some others became great during a lockdown.”

    He, therefore, added that the best thing to do during a lockdown is rejoice, praise God, study the Bible and pray.

    “Visions usually come during lockdown. Plan towards actualizing the vision and when you finish planing you need to hand it over to God.”

    He also said God told him not to worry about persons who died due to coronavirus.

    According to him, God allowed it because he wants to prove that he is the Almighty, hence the low COVID-19 deaths recorded globally.

    The cleric said, “God said I should not worry about those who will die due to coronavirus.

    “Ain’t you amazed at the number of people who have been recovered compared to the number of those who died? All over the world the number of those who died is less than 10 percent.

    “If you research, you will know that the number of people who have died due to coronavirus is lesser than those who have died because of accident or other means.

    “This is because God just wanted to prove himself that he is the almighty that he can lockdown the whole world.

    “I’m appealing to those who haven’t give their life to Christ love your self by seeking him.If you find him you will fine life and if you hate him.

    “To those who think they are big and mighty where is it now. The almighty God says sit down at home.”

  • Covid-19: As soon as lockdown is over, go out and start winning souls – Adeboye

    The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged Christians to win more souls for Christ during and after the lockdown.

    Adeboye stated this on Sunday during a live broadcast to his members on Dove TV.

    The cleric said every Christian should be committed to soul winning to enjoy God’s blessing.

    Adeboye said, “Some people are already getting consumed by freight because of the lockdown. The flood will come sooner or later. My advice for you is to be wise

    “As soon as the lockdown is over. You better spread your wings and win more souls for christ.

    “When you rededicate yourself to soul winning, you will begin to enjoy all round blessings and success .”

  • Covid-19: Put an end to this plague, Pastor Adeboye begs God

    General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday begged God to have mercy on the entire world over the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Adeboye, who spoke through a live broadcast by the DOVE Television, during the Sunday service monitored by our correspondent, advised all to continue to pray for God to quickly put an end to the pandemic.

    His opening prayer: “Today once again, Lord we are asking for mercy for all your children, for your church, for our nation and for the entire world.

    “Please Lord have mercy on us all. Very, very quickly Lord, put an end to this Coronavirus. Let your healing power flow through your word to the entire world.

    “Lay your mighty hand upon those who are sick. Please out of your mercy heal them all. All those who are in sorrow, father comfort them.”

    Meanwhile, the cleric who preached on Calvary and curses, however, admonished that whatever God does, “He does it perfectly well”.

    He said: “Well, it has pleased God that we will still be ministering to you this Sunday.

    “We know whatever God does, He does it perfectly well.

    “So definitely He has a reason for whatever is happening right now.”

    Despite the lockdown, which was also enforced in Nigeria, many continue to die daily as scientists across the globe battle against time to find a vaccine for the virus, which first emerged in Wuhan, China in December, 2019.

    Since the lockdown in Nigeria, many church leaders, including Adeboye, whose church is headquartered in Ogun, have been holding online services with their members since public gatherings have equally been banned.

  • Covid-19: Pastor Adeboye extends N20m donation to Osun State

    The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye has made another donation of N20million to the government of the State of Osun to support the state government’s effort to cushion the effect of COVID-19 on the Osun residents.

    Osun as at today, Friday April 3rd 2020 ranks 3rd amongst the states with confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 30 confirmed cases out of the total 198 confirmed cases in Nigeria as released by the NCDC.

    The State no doubt would require all the support that it can get in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and the Twenty Million Naira (N20m) support which was transferred into the Osun State Government dedicated COVID-19 account domiciled with UBA is considered a timely support in this fight against COVID-19.

    The General Overseer noted that by the donation, the mission “ acknowledge the efforts of the state government in curbing the spread of the Virus in the state and prayed that God would put an end to COVID 19, not just in Nigeria but in the entire world in the mighty name of Jesus”.

    This new donation is coming just as Pastor Adeboye made a donation of 8,000 Hand Sanitizers, 8,000 Surgical Face Masks and 200,000 hand gloves to support the efforts of the Lagos state government in equipping the medical staff with necessary protective gears needed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic on Monday, March 31, 2020 at the Yaba Infectious Diseases Centre.

    It’s noteworthy that Pastor Adeboye has always been committed to contributing to the wellbeing of humanity and in particular Nigerians of all tongue, religion and belief.

    This has shown in his continuous generous giving in various areas long before the outbreak of COVID-19.

    It will be recalled that ahead of the Corona virus pandemic, Pastor Adeboye through the RCCG CSR delivered on the commitment of the church to strengthen and support the health system by donating 11 ICU beds fully fitted with Ventilators in Lagos, Ogun and Plateau States these facilities have immensely contributed to government’s efforts in the care for persons with acute medical needs.

    COVID-19: Abiodun hail Obasanjo, Adeboye, Adeola, others over donations

    Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun on Saturday commended private individuals, corporate organisations and religious bodies for their donations to the state government in support of its fight against the spread of Coronavirus.

     

    In a statement he personally signed, Abiodun named high net-worth Nigerians and organisations that had given property, as well as financial and moral support to the Ogun government in the fight against COVID-19 under the aegis of COVID-19 Pandemic Support Fund.

     

    They include former President, Olusegun Obasanjo; General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye; the Chairman of BUA Group of Companies, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu; and the founder of Fate Foundation, Mr Fola Adeola.

     

    “The good Samaritans responded promptly and selflessly to plea by the state government for help from well-meaning Nigerians and foreign development agencies to aid the fight against COVID-19,” he said.

     

    According to Abiodun, both Obasanjo and Adeola donated their private property in Abeokuta for use by the government as isolation centres for suspected patients of COVID-19 within the state.

     

    He said that Adeboye donated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and ventilators for the treatment of patients, and other equipment at Redeemer’s Health Centre, Mowe.

     

    The governor further disclosed that Rabiu donated N100 million as relief support and made a pledge of medical supplies to the government.

     

    Abiodun promised to ensure transparent use of all the donations and urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate their kind gestures.

     

    “I want to personally assure the entire citizenry of Ogun that I will ensure judicious use of these donation of funds and property towards the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

     

    The governor described the pandemic as a global challenge which required a collective approach to check the spread.

     

    “This pandemic poses a collective challenge and together we must join hands in fighting it.

     

    “We will confront it. We will slow it down and we will defeat it,” he said.

  • COVID-19: Adeboye begins Sunday Morning sermon on TV

    Sequel to the Federal and State governments’ directive on restriction of mass gatherings during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye will from tomorrow, Sunday, 22nd March be ministering live on television to millions of the members of the church across the globe.

    Recall that the leadership of the church had earlier reiterated it’s commitment and support to every effort being made globally to control and end the pandemic.

    In a statement signed and released by Head, Media & Public Relations of the church Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, the Assistant General Overseer in charge of Administration and Personnel, Pastor Funso Odesola directed the branches of the Church in all locations to comply with the measures put in place by the various authorities.

    He assured that there would be regular updates on the Mission’s response as events are reviewed based on progress made in combating the global challenge.

    The Assistant General Overseer charged all Ministers and Members of the Church to be vigilant and comply with relevant government directives on the control and spread of the virus. He said that anyone who notices any of the symptoms of the virus, should heed government advice on self isolation, and consult a Government Medical Center immediately

    The statement disclosed that with effect from Sunday 22nd March 2020, the General Overseer of the Mission, Pastor E.A Adeboye would be on air with a sermon every Sunday Morning for the next four Sundays. The sermon which would be transmitted on the Church’s Dove Television and other platforms would be another opportunity for a corporate prayer to God for help in the present circumstance.

    Pastor Odesola enjoined the Pastors to guide the congregation to maintan all COVID~19 etiquette such as social distancing and high standard of personal hygiene, including handwashing regularly with running water and soap. Proper use of hand sanitizers should also be encouraged, he said.

    In his words, “with Prayer and faith, we believe that God will help us, so that our lives may return to normalcy soon

    We admonish all of us to use this opportunity to draw closer to God and intercede for ourselves, family and the world at large.

    You will recall that at the cross~over service into Year 2020, the General Overseer said that the earth is going to behave like a child having convulsion. The General Overseer made it clear that though there would be series of battles in the Year, you will win. What is going on in the world today is a confirmation of this word of God but we have the assurance that as we pray, God will answer and grant us victories.

    The statement however advised members not to panic as like every other similar crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic too shall soon pass.

     

  • Coronavirus: Adeboye postpones Special Sunday program indefinitely

    Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has postponed a program that would have attracted thousands, slated for Sunday, 22nd of March at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

    It is a program being organized by the First Born Family, RCCG, Region 19, Acme Road, Ogba, with the theme: Breaking Barriers.

    The postponement followed the ban on all religious gathering of over 50 people by Lagos State Government on Wednesday.

    A statement by one of the Provinces under Region 19 reads:

    “Greetings. Please, be informed that Daddy G.O. (Pastor Adeboye) has instructed us to POSTPONE the EMERGE program that was to take place on Sunday until a later date.

    In Daddy’s words,” we are to obey the laws of the land”.

    “Please kindly give this information the widest publicity.

    Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri has said he visited the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, during his election travails.

    Diri said this on Friday at the church’s international headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway during the ‘Testimony Session’ at the church’s monthly meeting. “I contested in the governorship election in Bayelsa State in November 2019 and thereafter I was alleged to have lost the election.

    “I promptly rejected those results and continued with the judicial process in Nigeria. “During the process, I visited this church on the 11th of December during the programme of the Great Turn Around. “After the service, I went to see Daddy G.O. He prayed for me and thereafter, he said, ‘It is well. Go and when you receive it, come back to the church’.

    “The judicial processes continued until the 14th of February about 24 hours to the swearing-in ceremony of the alleged winner. Brethren, a miracle was accomplished. The Supreme Court declared me the winner of that election. “I have come to give Him (God) the glory and to return the glory to Him and to Him alone. “I want to thank Daddy G.O. and all of you who stood with me in prayers. “Today, I am the governor of Bayelsa State,” Diri told the congregation.
