    Nigerian singer, Simi has humorously called out her husband, Adekunle Gold over her non-appearance in a popular game on his birthday.

    In a video, Adekunle could be seen celebrating his birthday as his friends participated in the popular challenge known as “I Am Not The One.”

    Reacting, Simi took to his comment section as she said she might never recover from what Adekunle Gold did to her.

    Nigerian singer, Simi has revealed that she met her husband, Adekunle Gold, on Facebook.

    According to the singer, her husband reached out to her on Facebook, but she thought he was a fan as she didn’t reply to his message.

    Simi made these revelations while featuring in a live session on the ‘Tea With Tay’ podcast, which she posted on her Instagram page.

    He used to do this ‘King of Photoshop’ that time’. “He sent me a message on Facebook but I never saw it nor did I reply”.

    Simi declared that her goal is to fight for women’s right to choose whatever they want to do, without being under duress or doing so out of fear.

    “If you want to be the most submissive woman in the world, that’s your choice, or you want to be a slay mama, it’s all for you,” she added.

    Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko popularly known as Simi said she did not know Adekunle was a musical artist when their paths crossed.

    She revealed what transpired on the most recent episode of the show Tea with Tay, which is hosted by media personality Taymesan.

    She also said that she dated the “Five Star” crooner even though she didn’t know he was a musician when they met because he was a nice guy.

    “When I first met my husband, I didn’t know he was singing because me I already said I cannot marry a singer. I didn’t know he was singing; I think he was even a fan,” Simi said.

    The singer set his North American tour in motion several moons ago, gracing the stage in 17 concerts across 17 bustling cities, casting the melodious spell of Afrobeats music like a musical piper.

    Nigerian singer, Adekunle Kosoko, fondly called Adekunle Gold, has revealed that trying a new side of himself was the reason behind braiding his hair.

    Adekunke refuted speculations about the hair being a part of a branding plan.

    He disclosed this while featuring as a guest on MTV Base Africa’s programme, Touching Base, hosted by actress Susan Pwajok.

    He said, “There was no plan for it [my braided hairstyle] to be like a brand

    “In 2019, my hair was growing. Remember when I had that punk. And I was like, let me even try a new side of me. Let me even try to grow this hair and then make it. And I have really nice core pattern, whatever you guys called it. Core texture [laughs].

    “But, yeah. I just decided to grow it and it looks good on me.”

    Popular Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold, professionally known as AG Baby, has warned fellow artiste, Brymo from making slur comments about his wife, Simi.

    Adekunle Gold cautioned  Brymo not to disrespect Simi and his family.

    Recall that Brymo had said he declined to feature Simi because she refused to “get intimate” with him.

    Responding, Adekunle Gold charged Brymo to seek help.

    Tweeting, AG baby as he’s popularly called wrote: ”Do not disrespect my wife and my family. Get Help!”

    Popular R&b singer, Simisola Kosoko, simply known as Simi has stated reasons why she agreed to marry Adekunle Gold.

    According to the songstress, Adekunle Gold’s persistence made her consider dating him during the early days of their careers.

    The singer said, AG Baby as he is fondly called, has been messaging her via Facebook for a long time but she didn’t notice until they started dating.

    She recounted how they eventually met at one of her concerts and how Gold’s “niceness” made her accept dating him months later.

    Simi made this revelation during an interview on Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos.

    The ‘Stranger’ crooner said they dated for five years before finally getting married in 2019.

    She said, “In the gospel community, I was pretty well known. And he [Adekunle Gold] had heard my album at that time as well.

    “He has been reaching out to me on Facebook, DMing me on Facebook. But I didn’t see those DMs until we started dating.

    “I don’t remember how we eventually linked up again. I had a show Bogobiri, and he turned up. He was very slim at that time with white BYC and jeans. He came to see me perform. I was like, ‘Oh hey! He was like, ‘Oh! I’m such a fan.’ And I was like, ‘Okay!’ [laughs].

    “I don’t know, he must have been persistent because there is a friendship that came out from there. I thought he was a really nice guy. We became friends and later that year, he asked me out.

    “I mean, as much as I was sounding like all that, I still didn’t really have nothing. He was a nice guy and I was like, ‘Okay, I don’t mind a nice guy’ [laughs].”

    Nigerian Afropop singer, Adekunle Gold signs with Def Jam

    Nigerian Afropop singer, Adekunle Kosoko, professionally known as Adekunle Gold and AG Baby, is set to join the league of Nigerian artistes breaking grounds internationally.

    The “High” crooner has officially signed with a popular American music label, Def Jam Recordings, Billboard reports on Tuesday.

    This was made known in a statement by the company’s Chief Executive Officer/Chairman, Tunji Balogun.

    In the release, Balogun hailed Kosoko for his songwriting, artistry, vocals and showmanship.

    “I’ve been following Adekunle Gold since I first heard his record ‘Sade’ in 2016,” he said.

    Adding: “Over the years, everything in AG’s world has elevated- his songwriting has refined, the scope of his artistry has widened, his vocals have strengthened, his approach to fashion is more distinct, and his showmanship and performance ability have grown exponentially. He’s stepped into stardom on his own terms and is completely comfortable being his true self.”

    The CEO revealed that he had planned to bring Def Jam label into the Afrobeats space as soon as be started working at the label in 2022

    “Adekunle felt like the perfect fit – he’d already done so much work on his own to build a base, but I knew that we could scale his audience to an even bigger level if we combined our energies and worked together,” he continued.

    Gold also expressed excitement on signing with the label, and getting to work with Balogun especially with their shared Nigerian roots.

    “He understands it. So signing to Tunji makes sense. He’s like my studio buddy that just comes everywhere I go. The day he doesn’t have time to be there, I know he must’ve been like stupidly busy. He’s great.

    “The track record is there. The history is there. They break artists, and they have niche, unique artists like me, so I think it’s the right move for me. All of the things that I’ve done for myself already, they know already and that’s why they’re on board,” Gold said.

    Owned by Universal Music Group, Def Jam Recordings boasts of superstar alumni like Jay Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West.

    AG Baby, as he is also known, broke into the Nigerian music scene with his debut hit, “Sade”, in 2015. He signed his first record label deal with YBNL Nation in the same year, and released his debut studio album, “Gold”, in 2017.

    Two years after the deal expired, the father of one started his own label, Afro Urban Records. He thereafter released two albums, “About 30” in 2018 and “Catch Me If You can” in 2022.

    Popular Nigerian singer, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, known professionally as Adekunle Gold and AG Baby, has blamed the current administration for the numerous challenges Nigeria is experiencing.

    He lamented in a post on Twitter, saying the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government wasted eight years of the lives of Nigerians.

    Adekunle Gold stated that the country has been on a steady regression for eight years.

    He wrote; “This current administration wasted 8 years of our lives. 8 years, we regressed as a nation.”

    Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has said no single government is capable of solving all the problems facing the country.

    He stated this on Monday, January 30th at the State of the Nation Dialogue organized by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja.

    Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said the only solution is for successive governments to be building on the foundations laid by previous administrations.

    He said; “I will say no one government in this country will be able to solve the problems of Nigeria but as we build on the processes laid by successive governments, not discarding completely what has been put in place; we will build our dreams, take one or two things to concentrate on and move on.

    “We believe the outcome of this dialogue can be transmitted to us so that whatever resolutions are reached, whatever recommendations you make; that will become part of the document that we will prepare as we transit and handover to a new incoming government.”

    The couple who tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony on January 9, 2019 stirred reactions recently on social media following Simi‘s response to a fan that hugged her husband tightly.

    Taking to the Instagram story, Adekunle Gold shared a video of their new tattoos as a declaration of love for one another.

    AG Baby’s tattoo on his arm had a fully bloomed flower while that on Simi’s arm was a young flower followed with the caption “this flower bloomed in April.”

    The “Duduke” singer, while hailing her hubby, noted she looks forward to spending his money and massaging his body forever.

    She wrote: “3 years and you’re still the one I love oooh the one that I belong too still the one I kiss goodnight. I love you, my boy. I thank you for this journey. God really working overtime with us.

    The music stars got married in January 2019 in one of the most private celebrity weddings attended by close friends and family members of the couple.
