“My father was a GREAT man. He has always been the man I’ve looked up to. Growing up, I watched him work so hard for so little. He was very honest and has never been interested in shortcuts.
“Hard work and integrity meant everything to him. My father. I will always remember, what he said in this statement: “I’ve been in service far too long to let quick money ruin my reputation”. This was my Father.
“He is forever to be remembered as a teacher. My teacher. We all know that teachers weren’t big earners but my dad would ensure we always had everything we ever needed.

“Sadly, I was not done making him proud, there are dreams I had with him in the picture, I don’t know guys, I really wasn’t done.
“ I find little solace in something I read today. “God knows how to write straight on crooked lines” This area is very crooked for me, these are depths of grief that I have never dived. But God…God will figure it out.
“ I thank you all for your prayers, your support, your kind words. None of them have gone unnoticed. I pray the love you’ve shown me will be accorded you in your time of need.
“To my Dad, the greatest man I will ever know in this life and the next, sun re o!Adieu papa. May your soul rest in perfect peace.”

  • I wish my sister was alive to celebrate my success –Adekunle Gold

2011 will forever remain indelible in the mind of Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold. It was the year he lost his sister whom he refers to as his best friend.

Recall that Adekunle Gold dedicated his hit song ‘Ire’ to his deceased beloved singer.

Speaking on the loss of his sister, Gold said: “My sister was one of the few best friends I had but death took her away. She had a heart-related disease and I thought she could beat the disease but she did not make it. We sang together a lot and we shared the same dream. I was her best friend in the house, so it really shook me when I lost her. I remember her every year and reminisce about the great time we had together. I wish she was alive to celebrate my success with me because this was our dream.

“The funny thing is that we had the money; it was not that we could not afford to treat her, but it was just unfortunate that she died. If I was as popular back then as I am now, what would I have done differently? I do not think that I would have done anything differently because we spent money on her. I was at home when she died, so by the time I got to the hospital to see her, she had died,” he said in a chat with Punch.

Newly married singers, Adekunle Gold and Simi have unveiled the visuals of their new single, ‘Promise.’
Earlier yesterday, TNG gathered that the singers will be unveiling a joint album.
The new collaborative single ‘Promise’ takes us to picturesque locations and, for the first time, presents the happy couple flourishing in the glow of each other’s’ love for the world to see.
The video is very intimate, but also fun enough that we are pulled into it without feeling awkward. The lyrics of the song, as the title implies, sounds very much like wedding vows; leaving us to guess whether these were their actual vows. Listening to them harmonize adds more depth to the words, it’s safe to say our heartstrings have been sufficiently tugged with this one.

Why I had a secret wedding- Adekunle Gold

Weeks back, social media was awash with reports that Adekunle Gold had finally tied the knots with his speculated girlfriend, Simi.

The lovebirds did well not to give any confirmation of an ongoing relationship from either of them. Neither was there a denial all through. The only confirmation everyone has is of their wedding ceremony.

In a statement made by Adekunle Gold in his newsletter obtained by TheNewsGuru, the ‘Orente’ singer disclosed his reason for opting for a secret wedding.

On why he took his wedding from the public glare, he said:” Earlier in 2018, I asked my girl of 5 years to be my wife. Knowing all of my imperfections and shortcomings, she said yes!

This January, before God and our family, we vowed to do this thing called life together.

To be honest, it’s easy to get lost in the limelight; so we definitely have a slightly obsessive desire for a private life that belongs to just us.

We planned on sharing a little bit of the beginning of our forever with you. Thankfully my team got Kudus on our little Island with us to capture some of these moments for you.

I see all your beautiful wishes for me and mine.
I want to thank you for that and hope our union brings more Magic”.
