    FireBoy reacts to viral court wedding photo

    Stunning Afrobeats singer and songwriter Fireboy has taken to social media to react to the alleged court wedding of his look like.

    This comes after a top fan, via Facebook shared a photo of a man who looks like the popular musician tying the knot with a Caucasian woman at the Ikoyi Marriage Registry in Lagos. 

    In reaction to the photo, a fan humorously remarked, “Aje na fire boy,” suggesting that the person in the photo was the singer.

    Giving an humorous response, Fireboy DML took to the commen quickly responded in kind, playfully clarifying, “Aje no be me seh!” with a laughing emoji, adding to the light-hearted nature of the conversation.

    Davido clears air on relationship with Burna Boy

    Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has revealed the relationship status between him and Burna Boy.

    According to Davido, they used to be very close but not anymore.

    He said they were on good terms but they “don’t really talk” to each other.

    Davido recently featured on Ebro in the Morning Show on Hot 97FM, New York, USA.

    Speaking on unity among Afrobeats artists, the Omo Baba Olowo crooner said, “Afrobeats [artists] we are in unity. I spoke to Burna [Boy]. He called me. He calls me as well but we’ve not really spoken like that.

    Asked whether he plans to resolve his issues with Burna Boy, Davido said, “I think I definitely would. He [Burna Boy] called me. Wiz [Kid] called me. And funny enough, me and Burna used to be mad close. Very very close.”

    Recall that the relationship between Davido and Burna Boy went sour in 2020, which resulted in a series of disagreements between the two.

    The duo reportedly clashed and exchanged blows in a Ghanaian club.

    Speaking of the incident, Davido said, “Funny enough, it wasn’t even us. It was our people [team]. It was crazy because it didn’t even involve us.”

    TV host, Big Ma attacks Wizkid over music content

    Media Personality, Big Ma, has blasted Nigerian Afrobeats maestro, Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, for selling “nonsense” to fans as music.

    Speaking during a TV show, Big Ma said she has wondered on different occasions how Wizkid is still relevant because his songs lack content.

    She said that he is able to successfully sell songs that do not make sense because he has an unexplainable grace.

    The presenter also said that she is not a big fan of Wizkid and it might come as a disappointment to many.

    Recall that earlier Wizkid tackled Nigerian rappers, saying “48 hours and still no rap song?”.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Wizkid is a prominent figure in the modern day Afrobeats music scene, Wizkid is regarded as one of the biggest and most influential African artists of all time.

    The Afrobeats singer began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five (5), a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).

    He later rose to the limelight after releasing “Holla at Your Boy”, the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011), which also spawned the singles “Tease Me/Bad Guys” and “Don’t Dull”.

    In September 2014, he released the self-titled second studio album, Ayo. The album was supported by six singles, including the song “Jaiye Jaiye”. Wizkid left E.M.E after his contract expired. In 2016, Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the hit single “One Dance”, which reached number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100, and topped the charts in 14 additional countries.

    The song broke multiple records, making him the first Afrobeats artist to appear in the Guinness World Records. In March 2017, he signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records; and released his third studio album Sounds from the Other Side, later that year. The album was supported by five singles, including “Come Closer” featuring Drake.

    In 2018, the Afrobeats singer was featured on the song “Checklist” by Normani and Calvin Harris, which reached number one on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. The following year, he was featured on Beyoncé’s project The Lion King: The Gift on the single “Brown Skin Girl”, which also reached number-one on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and won him a Grammy Award for Best Music Video.

    In October 2020, he released his fourth album, Made in Lagos, which received commercial success and acclaim,

    The album includes the single “Essence” featuring Tems, which became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top ten following a remix released by Justin Bieber. Wizkid’s fifth album More Love, Less Ego was released on 11 November 2022.

    By February 2021, Wizkid was the most-streamed Nigerian artist of all time on Spotify, with over 3.4 billion streams across all credits.
