    SARAH MOSES: Ahmed Musa marks his mother’s fourth death anniversary

    Nigerian professional footballer and Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, on Tuesday marked his mother’s fourth death anniversary.

    On his Instagram page, the footballer shared photos of his mother, Sarah Moses, and pictures from her burial ceremony.

    In the caption, he stated how much he missed his mother, adding that he thought about her daily following her demise.

    Musa noted that he was confident that the deceased was in a better place “looking down on us all”.

    Stating that his mother’s death left a void, the footballer added that he was doing all he could to make her proud.

    Musa wrote, “Dear mum, it’s been four years without you and not a single day passs without me thinking about you.

    “The void you have left is so evident but I am grateful because I am doing all I can to make you proud. We all miss you dearly.

    “My confidence is that you are in a better place looking down on us all. I miss you beyond words can express. Rest well mum.”

    Musa lost his mother on January 24, 2019 and had announced her death via his Twitter page.

    “What a sad day of my life. I just lost my mum,” read Musa’s announcement.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Musa‘s mother died on 24th of January 2019.

    Sarah Moses single-handedly nurtured the footballer and her other four daughters when her husband passed on 21 years ago.

    In the year 2017, she graced the unveiling of the N500 million sports fitness centre in the ancient city of Kano built by her son, where she described Musa as a philanthropist who has touched so many lives with his wealth.

    She said back then: “he has been the breadwinner of the family and even our extended family members. He is taking good care of all of us.”

    According to her, contrary to insinuations that Musa hailed from Jos, Plateau state, the mum said, “he is actually from Maiduguri in Borno state. I am the second wife to the late father who died when Musa was seven years old.”

    India 2022: Super Eagles’ captain, Ahmed Musa doles out 3million to Flamingos

    Super Eagles captain and Sivasspor of Turkey forward, Ahmed Musa has given   Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team the Flamingos N3m for coming out tops against Germany in the bronze medal encounter at the just concluded U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.

    Nigeria defeated Germany 3-2 via penalties in the third-place match after full-time score ended 3-3 in Mumbai on Sunday.

    An elated  Musa took to his verified Twitter page to make the announcement.

    His tweet reads “Three million waiting for Flamingos in Abuja. Congratulations,” Musa tweeted, while celebrating Flamingos’ historic achievement.

    Sunday’s victory for Nigeria made them the second African side to have achieved the feat. Ghana clinched the bronze medal at the 2012 edition of the tournament.

    Flamingos scored first and were up 3-0 before the Germans staged a dramatic comeback late on to tie the loser’s final 3-3.

    Blessing Sunday, Etim and Player-of-The-Match Ajakaye all scored from the spot for Flamingos but defender Tumininu Adeshina’s miss did not matter as Pauliner Bartz fluffed the crucial kick for Germany.

    Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa, has built an international standard school in Jos and dedicated it to his parents, Mr Musa and Mrs Sarah.

    The footballer announced the good news on his Instagram page as he shared photos of the mega school.

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the school was named after the couple, M & S International school.

    “I’m proud to name it after my parents… Mr Musa & Mrs Sarah! M & S international school…. Now officially open Alhamdulilah,” Musa said.

    Recall that Musa had undergone successful surgery on his left arm.

    The footballer took to his Instagram page to express his heartfelt gratitude to his creator for a successful surgery.

    He didn’t fail to also appreciate the competent doctors assigned to him and the general public for their love, messages, prayers and words of encouragement.

    The footballer, who was eager to get back on the field, expressed his wishes to be back stronger and absolutely better.

    Musa became the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match, after scoring twice against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

    He is also the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup competitions, after scoring twice against Iceland in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

    The Super Eagles Captain was a member of the Al Nassr squad that won the Saudi Premier League and Saudi Super Cup, both in 2019.

    In 2008, Musa was loaned to JUTH F.C. where he played 18 games, scoring four goals in his first two professional seasons for the Healers.

    He was subsequently loaned to Kano Pillars F.C., in the 2009–10 season where he set the league record scoring multiple crucial goals as Pillars finished second.

    Musa held the record for the highest number of goals ever scored in one season in the history of the Nigeria Premier League until November 2011, when Jude Aneke of Kaduna United F.C. set a new record of 20 goals.

    Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has undergone successful surgery on his left arm.

    The footballer took to his Instagram page to express his heartfelt gratitude to his creator for a successful surgery.

    He did not fail to also appreciate the competent doctors assigned to him and the general public for their love, messages, prayers and words of encouragement.

    The footballer, who is eager to get back on the field, expressed his wishes to be back stronger and absolutely better.

    “I just want to express my heartfelt appreciation to Allah for successful surgery on my left arm. As we all know, no surgery is too minor so i am grateful for the competent doctors assigned to me for a job well done. Also to you all, for your messages, prayers, and words of encouragement. I hope to be back on the filed soon stronger and absolutely better. Thanks everyone”.

    Meanwhile, Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong has led his teammates in sending support messages to the captain Ahmed Musa who recently had surgery on his left arm.

    Musa, 29, announced via social media on Wednesday that the surgery was successful, adding that he was looking forward to returning to the field.

    The former Leicester City player picked up an injury while featuring for Sivasspor in a 2-1 Turkish Super Lig defeat to Ankaragucu at Eryaman Stadyumu on September 18.

    Reacting to Musa’s post on Instagram, Troost-Ekong who is himself sidelined due to injury said in the comments section, “Skippo! I wish you a good recovery.”

    Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who could return to action this weekend for Leicester City following an injury spell, wrote, “Quick recovery Gov.”

    Napoli forward Victor Osimhen wrote, “Come back stronger Skippo.”

    Odion Ighalo, who plies his trade in Saudi Arabia, commented, “Get well soon Governor.”

    Oghenekaro Etebo wrote, “Get well soon.”

    Ex-internationals such as Daniel Amokachi, Ikechukwu Uche and Peter Utaka, also commented. Amokachi prayed for quick recovery in Hausa, “Allah ya Kara Lafiya.”

    Musa penned a two-year deal with Sivasspor on September 2 following the termination of his contract with Fatih Karagumuruk.

    Head Coach José Santos Peseiro has opted for captain Ahmed Musa, deputy captain William Ekong and 23 other players to take on former African champions Algeria in an international friendly match in the Algerian town of Oran on Tuesday, 27th September.

    Also called are goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye, defenders Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem and Calvin Bassey, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, and forwards Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi and Cyriel Dessers.

    Only Richard Onyedika, of Belgian top team, Club Brugge, is a new face in the group. Germany –based defender Kevin Akpoguma also returns to the fold.

    Three –time African champions Nigeria and two-time African champions Algeria clash at the 40,000 Stade Olympique in Oran on Tuesday, 27th September, with the invited players expected to confluence in the city of Constantine on Monday, 19th September.

    Super Eagles captain,  Ahmed Musa has welcomed another baby into his family.

    The former Leicester City star took to his social media account to announce the latest addition to his family on Thursday.

    Ahmed Musa was grateful to God for the newest addition to his family, stating all thanks be to Allah.

    Revealing the name of the new baby, Ahmed Musa wrote: Alhamdulillah Allah ya Albar kace mu da Adam Ahmed Musa (ZAYD) translated to mean (All thanks are to Allah, may Allah bless us with Adam Ahmed Musa).

    The Super Eagles gaffer wrote on Twitter

    “Today is a special day for me as my son will be named. Isa Ahmed Musa. I pray that your name will only be called in places of honour.? You will be a solution to your generation and the first amongst your peers. I love you so much.

    Actor Yul Edochie attacks Ahmed Musa for ‘stealing’ his post

    Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has attacked  Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa on social media after he (Musa) made a post on his Twitter page criticizing the government for not finding solution to the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike embarked upon by University lecturers.

    His Instagram post  reads in part : “To our political office holders whose children school abroad.

    “How do you feel visiting your children abroad, taking pictures in their schools, and posting online while ASUU is on strike?

    “Like seriously, how is it ok to you? You’re running a system that you don’t even believe in.

    “Show me one Oyibo leader whose child is schooling in Nigeria. e no dey touch una?

    “And when you return, Nigerian youths will still gather and sing praises for una.”

    Reacting to Musa’s post, actor Yul Edochie took to his instagram page to quote the football star and also criticize him for not crediting the original source of the post.

    Edochie’s counter post reads: “Na me think am, write am post for my pages this morning. My brother Ahmed Musa munch am post for him own page without giving me credit for it. e good? We all want a working Nigeria. Nothing wrong with copy and paste, but you should give credit to the writer.”

    Ex-Nigerian football player, Obiekwu thanks Nigerians for new life

    Kingsley Obiekwu, a former Nigerian football player, says he is overwhelmed by the show of solidarity by Nigerians during his time of need.

    Obiekwu, a member of the Nigerian team which won the men’s football gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics said he was extremely grateful.

    He said he was forced to start running a commercial transport business when things became difficult.

    The story had elicited instant response from across the country, with Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa among the first to offer him financial support.

    Obiekwu in Awka on Monday revealed he was full of gratitude to Nigerians who responded across tribal and religious divides.

    “I am happy for the way Nigerians rallied round me, their genuine concern and financial support.

    “Again, I want to especially appreciate Ahmed Musa, the Super Eagles captain, as well as Ikechukwu Ujomu, Idewu Okeze, both from my town Ibuzo in Delta, and many other Nigerians too numerous to mention.

    “My help came from every part of Nigeria. They were united in giving me a new lease of life. I thank them all. They are wonderful,” he said.

    Obiekwu said he would use the donations as the capital for new business endeavours.

    He however advised young players to invest their earnings while active, noting that sports income was transitory.

    “Sportsmen and sportswomen need good investment sense. They should also try to get good education which will make them remain relevant,” the former player said.

    Nigeria’s Super Eagles players will get one plot of land each if they should win the 2021 edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Group Managing Director (GMD) of Revolution Plus Property, Bamidele Onalaja made the promise on Sunday in a video chat with Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa.

    Onalaja also promised the Super Eagles players the sum of N1 million for every goal scored in the knockout stages of the 2021 AFCON.

    “By the special grace of God, before you guys enter the semi finals, I plan to come join you. I just said let me make you guys happy. For every goal you guys will score during the knockout stages, Revolution Plus Property will pay you guys a N1 million per goal. I am very serious about it. If you score 20 goals that is N20 million.

    “Also, we said, once you lift the AFCON, every player and the technical crew have a plot of land either in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Abeokuta or any area of your choice that Revolution Plus Property is. And we are very serious about it,” Onalaja said.

    In his response, Musa said it is good that the gesture is coming from Revolution Plus Property, adding that he will inform the team of Onalaja’s promise.

    Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa makes shocking revelation about AFCON

    Captain of the Nigeria national team, Ahmed Musa, has revealed that this is the last time he will be playing in an Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

    Musa stated this during a press conference ahead of the Super Eagles’ opening fixture against Egypt on Tuesday.

    According to the 29-year-old, he will participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar if Nigeria qualifies. However, he would retire before the next AFCON.

    Musa, who is the national team’s most-capped player, also said he has charged his teammates to win the the2021 AFCON as a “parting gift for me”.

    He said: “I think this is my last AFCON InShaa Allah.

    “I have spoken to the boys that this is the only gift you can give to me because this is my last AFCON. And the boys told me that they are ready.

    “My first AFCON was in South Africa in 2013 and we ended up winning it. And my second appearance was in Egypt and we won the bronze.”

    Musa, in his 12 years of playing for the Eagles, has netted 16 goals including four at different World Cups.
