Leave Leicester City Now, Okoronkwo tells Ahmed Musa

Former Super Eagles defender, Isaac Okoronkwo has told Ahmed Musa to follow in John Obi Mikel’s example and leave Leicester City to get regular football chance.

Musa has been frozen out in Leicester and against the back drop of the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup, Okoronkwo who ended his career in Russia, urged the Super Eagles winger to change club. ‘’Take John Obi Mikel for example.

He correctly did that, he left Chelsea for China. It’s better to play there than to sit on the bench.’’ Okoronkwo added : ‘’I want to visit at least two matches out of three (at the World Cup).

I hope that they will call me, as it was in the recent game in Krasnodar. By the way, I talked with the guys and, in particular, with Ahmed Musa .

‘’I tried to convince him that returning to Russia would be the right step. In Leicester he sits on the bench, completely lost the game tone. ‘’Before the World Cup, he needs a team that he knows well, and after the tournament you will be able to think about other options. Especially CSKA Moscow, they need a central striker now.’’

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rostov defender hung up his boots four years ago but remained in Russia because he’s married to a Russian lady

Why Ahmed Musa divorced his wife – Family source

Following his alleged battering of his wife, Jemila more revelations have emerged on why Super Eagles player, Ahmed Musa, filed for a divorce.

The Leicester City forward ended his marriage during the week, after he was arrested for allegedly beating his wife in their home in England.

According to a report by New Telegraph, Family sources said the former CSKA Moscow forward and his estranged wife, Jamila, mutually parted ways following irreconcilable differences.

The source said the decision was reached by the two parties after efforts to reconcile them failed.

The source added that the player’s decision to marry a second wife was permitted by Islam but was vehemently rejected by Jamila.

Ahmed loves his wife and would have loved to keep the union especially for the sake of their two children.

He did everything to make Jamila see reason with him but the woman rejected all overtures.

Several family members mediated in the crisis but the two parties were not ready to shift positions.

They constantly had altercations and it was affecting them.

A lot of things have been said about Ahmed on this matter which is not correct, he is a gentleman and this issue is constantly affecting him even his career.

The wife insisted she could not cope with another woman but Musa was adamant about going ahead with it.

He is a devout Muslim and a responsible husband and instead of keeping mistresses he chose to legally marry a new wife as permitted by his religion.

Ahmed’s mother was in the UK a couple of times to speak with Jamila to accept his son’s decision but she declined.”

Regarding his arrest by the UK police, the source confirmed that Musa had altercations with his wife but never beat her.

The source said the last heated argument was after Jamila queried Musa for posting the picture of the new lady on his Instagram page and called her ‘my queen’.

  • Ahmed Musa ready to sue over wife beating reports

Ahmed Musa ready to sue over wife beating reports

Leicester and Nigerian forward,Ahmed Musa is considering legal action after his agent described reports that he was arrested for beating up his wife on her birthday as “inaccurate”.

The Nigeria international, who joined the Premier League champions last summer from CSKA Moscow for £16m, was questioned by Leicestershire police in the early hours of Wednesday morning after they were called to a disturbance at his home in Countesthorpe.

Musa was later released without charge and his agent has insisted reports of the 24-year-old’s arrest hours after he had wished his wife Jamila happy birthday on Instagram had been exaggerated.

“A row ensued between Musa and Jamila which drew the attention of neighbours and the police were notified,” said Tony Harris.

“The police duly spoke with Musa along with a couple of witnesses in the house and have since closed the matter with no further action whatsoever as there is no case to answer. No charges were brought against Musa or his wife.

“It’s normal for a couple to have a bit of a row now and again, however, Musa did not at any point hit his wife nor was he attacked by her. It was a mere domestic issue which has now been resolved and they are now talking again.”

Harris added: “Everyone knows Musa is a jolly good fellow. He doesn’t drink or smoke, doesn’t party and has never been in trouble with the police all his life. He couldn’t harm a fly.”

Musa is understood to be very upset about the reporting of the incident and has been in touch with his legal representatives to discuss potential action. A statement from Leicester on Thursday said that Musa would be asked to explain what happened when he is due back in for training on Friday.

“We are aware that Ahmed Musa has today [Wednesday] cooperated with a police inquiry relating to a disturbance in the early hours of this morning,” read the statement. “The inquiry has since been closed and no further action is to be taken. We see no reason for formal action internally, though Ahmed will be given the opportunity to discuss the matter with football management when the squad returns to training on Friday.”

Musa has not started a Premier League match for Leicester since the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on 5 February having fallen down the pecking order under new manager Craig Shakespeare.
