Supreme Court verdict: We’ll not congratulate Tinubu who’s under FBI, Social Security admin radar – NADECO USA vows

The US based NADECO has vowed not to congratulate President Bola Tinubu after his Supreme Court victory, saying a man under the probe of FBI and Social Security Administration does not deserve such an accolade.

The group in a statement jointly signed by its Executive Director and Publicity Secretary, Dr. Llord Ukwu B Comrade David Adenekan queried that:

“Who Will Congratulate a Man Under Investigation by The FBI & the Social Security Administration for Forgery.

    Further stating that:

Prejudice apart and without mincing words, the decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the verdict of the appellate court and confirm the election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President, will not affect the
resolution of NADECO USA to unravel the complexities and mysteries behind the alleged Certificate forgery Consequent upon the World Press Conference that was held inside the historic Chicago City Hall on the 23rd of October, 2023, wherein, we issued a strongly worded statement and in light of the fact that there are pending investigations and legal issues that may evolve from the allegation; the NADECO USA will not congratulate Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President because, the issues have to be properly investigated by different regulatory bodies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Social Security
    Administration (SSA).

“Moreover, this is not a trivial matter because it borders on national and global security and therefore, such
an issue cannot be treated with kids gloves or swept under the carpet.

“We recall that this issue of the alleged forged certificate was spearheaded by a legal luminary, the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) of blessed memory, 24 years ago and was stalled by the immunity clause
enjoyed by the governors in Nigeria, against prosecution.

“Today, it still remains “a smoking gun” in our body politics and it can only be put to final rest by genuine justice, faimess and transparency.

“The big question is; if the immunity clause could not put it to rest twenty-four years ago, today, that same immunity will not put it to rest except justice and fairness.

“Lastly, it is very important to intimate the general public that, against the back drop of evil activities of soothsayers, propagandists, fifth columnists and the imaginary “FAKE NADECO” group in Nigeria
(government sponsored NADECO), NADECO USA is registered and incorporated in United States of America and it is committed to deepening democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

“We also want to reiterate like we have done in some of our previous press releases that, NADECO USA is the offshoot of NADECO that was established by the likes of Pa. Abraham Adesanya, Dan Suleiman, Pa.

“Alfred Rewane, Ndubiisi Kalu, Ebitu Ukiwe, Edwin Clark, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Pa. Adekunle Ajasin, Dr.Beko Ransome Kuti and a host of others.

    Thank you.
    SOLIDARITY FOREVER!
    WE MOVE.

President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu Saturday night led the Nigerian delegation to the just concluded Inter-Parlientary Union (IPU) held in Luanda, Angola to the Presidential Villa, Abuja to brief President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the outcome of the event.

Recall that Akpabio was elected into the Executive committee of the IPU, having been nominated by Kalu at the 147th legislative assembly for the executive position.

The development ultimately led to the breaking of a 59year- old jinx of Nigeria’s absence into the decision making organ of the global parliamentary body.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu stated that earlier on their arrival from Angola via Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja, both top Nigerian lawmakers told journalists of their exploits at the assembly, saying Nigeria has now taken her rightful place in the comity of nations.

Akpabio also said that Nigeria’s membership into IPU’s top committee will create job opportunities for Nigerians.

He revealed that President Tinubu was consulted on their decisions while in Angola.

“A lot of employment opportunities will be created. A lot of offices will be opened. Sub national offices will be oppend and a lot of children who wish to be diplomats will have the opportunity of working there and it will also attract foreign direct investment in the area of training and retraining and capacity building not just for the legislators but for people who are in different fields. It’s quite a lot actually. The benefits are enormous. We thank God.

“And it is something we should dedicate to the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because it was happening at this time. And we were also consulting and briefing him on what was going on and there were very critical decisions we had to make sure that he was involved as the President of the country because that was an international body. You can’t take a wrong step”, the Senate President had said.

Speaking on the recent electoral victory of Tinubu, Akpabio congratulated the President and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He urged the President’s opponents to join hands with him in building the nation.

“We were very glad to receive the report of the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Supreme Court. So, we use this opportunity on arrival on the Nigerian soil to also congratulate him and our party, APC. We had no doubt that he won the election. We had no doubt that this was the will of God for Nigeria. And we pray that God will give him the wisdom, the health and sound mind to pilot the affairs of this country for the next 4 years. And we are also praying that those who contested against him up to turn courts to see the need to drop all their hatchets and join to build a greater Nigeria particularly at a time of this kind of economic difficulties. So, congratulations to us. Congratulations to Mr. President”, he said.

The President of the Senate Senator Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on the revalidation of his February 25, 2023 election victory by the Supreme Court describing the decision as reflective of the will of the people.

Senator Akpabio in a congratulatory message to President Tinubu said the decision of the apex court was a welcome relief as it finally unfastens the last bolts to the path for social-political engineering that President Tinubu promised the nation.

“Mr President, I am personally elated that the jurists of the Supreme Court saw through the arguments and even without much technicalities easily confirmed your victory in the poll.

“There is no doubt that victory came at a cost, but Mr President, that makes it even sweeter. I know you have in your years of public service yielded your personal and other comforts for the collective good and what it cost to confirm the victory in the courts should be seen with a similar vista.

Senator Akpabio also urged the president not to relent in being a father figure to his former rivals saying that it was superfluous to remind the president of his well-known big heart.

The Senate President also called on the major rivals of the President to sheath their swords of political combat and join hands with the Tinubu administration in the collective goal of making the nation great again.

“The elections have been announced by the electoral authorities and confirmed by the courts, and I call on all former political rivals of the president to show good faith by joining hands with the Bola Tinubu administration in its ongoing efforts to take the nation to a higher level.”

The Senate President on his part said that the National Assembly would continue to support the Bola Tinubu administration by leveraging its legislative tentacles to raise the level of governance to a higher pedestal.

Tinubu’s rapprochement with UAE is a key economic diplomacy win, says Omo-Agege

Immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the initiative to restore the mutually beneficial economic relationship between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), describing it as a key win in economic diplomacy.

Reacting to President Tinubu’s meeting with the leadership of the UAE on his way back from the BRICS summit in India, Omo-Agege who is also the Delta State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said restoring and strengthening mutually beneficial economic relationships is pivotal to the return to sustainable development.

In a press statement issued by Mr. Sunny Areh, Media Adviser to Senator Omo-Agege, the APC chieftain stated that it takes a bold vision and aggressive diplomacy to revive the important economic relationship between both countries which will ultimately see the restoration of direct flights and the lifting of the visa ban.

“Economic diplomacy is a crucial component of the bid to bring Nigeria’s economy back to the path of growth. We need to harness the opportunities inherent in our relationship with major economic centres. That is why President Tinubu’s initiative and success recorded with his meeting with the leadership of the UAE is commendable.

“It reinforces my confidence and belief in the President that he has the capacity to lead Nigeria out of the present economic doldrum to the path of prosperity. Again, I believe Nigerians will find this as an affirmation that they made the right choice in voting him as our President on February 26,” Sen. Omo-Agege said.

He urged the National Assembly and all Nigerians that genuinely desire a better society to rally round President Tinubu.

“The task of rebuilding our economy is a huge one. It requires getting the private sector and the international business community to buy into the project. Thankfully, our President has succeeded in doing that. With the confidence of the business community in Nigeria’s president and his economic policies, we are on track to becoming a major investment destination once again,” Omo-Agege stated.

President ‘not bothered’ over election tribunal verdict – Spokesman, Ngelale

Ajuri Ngelale,  the spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu,  has noted that  his principal is not bothered about the possible verdict of the presidential election tribunal.

Ngelale made this comment while granting an interview on Channels Television on Monday

.According to him, Tinubu sees no need to threaten judicial officers regarding the election petition.

TheNewsGuru.com reports that  tribunal has fixed September 6 to deliver judgment on the petitions challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

The victory was contested by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ngelale said Tinubu is optimistic that the panel would deliver judgment based on the evidence presented.

“Unlike some political gladiators in the country, the President sees no need to threaten judicial officers,” he said.

“He sees no need to raise speculations against the integrity of judicial officers. He believes in the sanctity and integrity of the Nigerian judicial system.

“As a result of his confidence and faith in the judiciary, he believes that the mandate which Nigerians freely gave to him during the elections would stand. That is the position of the President.

“He will continue to ensure that no matter what the outcome of the judgment is, he does his part and ensures that our institutions continue to be respected, not just by him, but by all actors.

“He is not worried because he knows he won the election. We believe that we have presented the best case and the evidence is on our side,” he said.

  • Legal practitioner, Effiong knocks Tinubu for allowing long convoy follow him in Lagos

Legal practitioner, Effiong knocks Tinubu for allowing long convoy follow him in Lagos

A lawyer and social critic, Inibehe Effiong has knocked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for allowing a long motorcade follow him to his Ikoyi residence in Lagos upon arrival from the United Kingdom.

According to Effiong, it’s absurd for the president to give approval to a long motorcade.

Effiong claimed that Tinubu should have insisted on reducing the vehicles, noting that the action was “a reminder that the political class is not ready to make the sacrifices which they expect from citizens”.

Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday after his visit to London and participation at the Paris Finance Summit.

However, the President’s arrival quickly became a spectacle of some sort with long convoy that accompanied him to his private residence.

In a video making the rounds online, which was captured by a roadside admirer, multiple SUVs were seen speeding ahead and behind the president’s official car.

But in a statement via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, Effiong alleged that fuel subsidy was removed to save cost, but limited resources were being wasted on frivolity.

Part of the statement read: “Mr. Bola Tinubu’s convoy in Lagos is another reminder that the political class is not ready to make the sacrifices which they expect from citizens.

“A nation that has a devastating debt burden shouldn’t be run this way. Those defending the monstrous convoy don’t wish Nigeria well.”

Tinubu, Kwankwaso meet in France, discuss government of national unity

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso in the just concluded 2023 elections  reportedly met  President-elect Bola Tinubu in France on Tuesday.

The parley held in the French capital, Paris, was reportedly brokered by Kwankwaso’s ally, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, the House of Representatives member who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the NNPP months before the 2023 general elections.

It was gathered that both Tinubu and Kwakwaso  met to discuss a government of inclusion and national unity.

It is also speculated that Tinubu may broker peace between Kwankwaso and his successor, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje was Kwankwaso’s deputy throughout his tenure but the duo fell apart not long after the former became Kano’s helmsman.

Last July, the NNPP leader subtly endorsed Tinubu to emerge as Nigeria’s next leader, describing him as “a strategist.”

“Bola Tinubu is a strategist. I had reasons to sit with him an uncountable number of times from 1992 till date. I’m sohappy with that combination (Tinubu-Shettima); my only worry is the platform (APC),” Kwankwaso said at the time.
