    Former First Lady Aisha Buhari on Saturday made a stunning appearance at the 2024 Calabar Carnival Street Party with an impeccable style and elegance.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports this would be one of Mrs Buhari’s first public appearances after moving out of Aso Rock after the 8-year tenure of her husband, Muhammadu Buhari elapsed in 2023.

    Her presence at the 2024 Calabar Carnival Street Party on Saturday added a touch of sophistication to the carnival, renowned for its colourful costumes, mesmerising performances, and infectious energy.

    Mrs Buhari’s fashion sense was on point, as she donned a pink outfit that showcased her taste and style.

    The former first lady sat at the VIP area with other dignitaries to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds as seven competitive and seven non-competitive bands thrilled revellers with series of performances.

    Her attendance at the carnival showed her commitment to promoting Nigerian culture.

    The event was also attended by Gov. AbdulRahman AbddulRasaq of Kwara and Gov. Ahmed Ododo of Kogi, some National Assembly members and foreign countries’ ambassadors.

    Runtown, Iyanya thrill fans at Calabar Carnival Live Concert

    The UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River, was abuzz with excitement on Friday night as Nigerian music sensations, Runtown and Iyanya, displayed electrifying performances at the 2024 Calabar Carnival Live Concert.

    The duo’s energetic performances were a perfect blend of their hit songs, infectious beats, and captivating stage presence. Runtown, known for his unique sound and style, performed some of his biggest hits, like “Mad Over You” and “For Life”.

    Iyanya, on the other hand, brought the stage down with his signature blend of R&B and Afrobeats, performing crowd-pleasers like “Kukere” , “Ur Waist” and more.

    The crowd was thoroughly entertained, singing along to every song and dancing. The energy was palpable, with fans waving their hands and screaming for more.

    A reveller, Kennedy Amadi, from Imo, in an interview with NAN said he deliberately travelled from Abuja, his base, to experience performances by Runtown and Iyanya. Amadi said he was not disappointed as he got value for his money after being entertained.

    Also, Jidenna Akpan who was attending a live concert for the first time, said she enjoyed every bit of the artistes’ energetic performances.

    “This is so interesting and I will be looking forward to the next edition of the carnival concert. Then,  I believe other artistes will be allowed to perform as well,” she said.

    For Frank Udo, meeting Runtown at the concert was the highlight of the carnival for him.

    Other up-and-coming artistes also performed to the excitement of the revellers.

    The Nigerian Police Force, (NPF) has announced the withdrawal of the Police Mobile Force, (PMF) personnel previously attached to Very important persons, including former first Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, her husband’s brother, Mallam Mamman Daura.

    Former secretary of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and a former Senate President, Iyorchia Ayu were also affected.

    The order for the withdrawal was contained in a Police Wireless Message it obtained on Monday.

    Authorities said the move was part of the NPF’s ongoing reassessment and reorganization of security details.

    It aims to optimize the deployment of police personnel and ensure the effective use of resources in line with prevailing security challenges in the country.

    The statement further noted that the withdrawal of personnel from the named high-profile individuals does not portray any specific threat or security breach.

    Mrs Aisha Buhari, the First Lady, has lauded workers in her office for their dedication to duty, saying they worked under intense pressure to achieve the desired goals in the last eight years of the administration.

    ”My staff worked under serious pressure and achieve the desire goals at the end of the day,” she said.

    Aisha said this when she spoke at a farewell meeting with members of staff at the Presidential Villa.

    ” You are the brains behind my success in the last eight years

    ”I pray that, what is ahead of you in future is more rewarding than what we have done in the last eight years.

    ”Because, without you I wouldn’t have achieve what I have achieve so far and I think I am one of the first ladies that Nigerians can not forget easily,” she said.

    The first lady expressed her profound gratitude for the tenacity, courage and commitment exhibited by the staff during the period.

    ”I thank you so much, I thank you so much Infact, I just can’t thank you enough for this efforts you make in the last eight years of my time in this office.
    ”May God bless you all, ” she said.

    First Lady Aisha Buhari, wife of outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari has narrated what she would miss about Aso Villa, the official residence of the president.

    In an interview with The Sun, Aisha said she would miss taking a walk in the evening around the Villa.

    “After eight years in the villa, I used to say that I would miss taking a walk in the evening. You know, they have a very long stretch and a beautiful garden, I think I’m going to miss that. Apart from that, we are leaving happily. And we thank God,” she said.

    On Thursday, Aisha handed over to the incoming First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

    The handover ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Aisha acquainted Remi with the responsibilities of the office and handed over important documents to guide her.

    She also passed on the seal of the African First Ladies Peace Mission to her successor, who will now serve as the chief host of all the spouses of African heads of state.

    Despite the fact that the role of the First Lady is not constitutional, Mrs Buhari expressed her gratitude for the goodwill of the citizens that allowed her to carry out humanitarian activities and partner with NGOs during her eight years in office.

    “As you are all aware the role of the First Lady is unconstitutional, but we enjoy the goodwill of the citizens in order to carry out some basic things, like humanitarian activities.

    “We partner with a lot of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in order to help our citizens, and I have enjoyed that goodwill for the last eight years.

    “So, I have prepared a handover, just to guide you, and see the NGOs that we have worked with,” Buhari’s wife said.

    The outgoing First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has officially engaged wife of the President-elect, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, acquainting her with duties of the Office of First Lady of Nigeria.

    Mrs Buhari, who received her successor on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, also handed over some documents to Mrs Tinubu to serve as guide towards piloting the affairs of the office.

    She also handed over the seal of the African First Ladies Peace Mission to the incoming first lady, being the chief host of all the spouses of the African heads of state.

    Mrs Buhari expressed confidence in the ability of the incoming first lady to deliver on the task ahead.

    The event signalled the formal transition of official engagements in the office of the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    “As you are all aware the role of the First Lady is unconstitutional, but we enjoy the goodwill of the citizens in order to carry out some basic things, like humanitarian activities.

    “We partner with a lot of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in order to help our citizens, and I have enjoyed that goodwill for the last eight years.

    “So, I have prepared a handover, just to guide you, and see the NGOs that we have worked with,” Mrs Buhari said.

    Responding, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu appreciated the outgoing first lady for exhibiting a high sense of leadership and dexterity in handling the affairs of her office.

    “We are very humbled by what you have done, you have exhibited great leadership and dexterity in the way you do things.

    “I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart because you don’t come into this role and say you know it all.

    “I know I served many years ago as Governor’s wife for eight years, but now things have changed and are being done differently. I have been in the legislative arm for 12 years now.

    “We promise you that you will be proud of the work we will do,” she said.

    In same vein, Mrs Buhari also received in audience the Association of Spouses of Nigerian Ambassadors (ASNA) led by the wife of Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, Mrs Udo Onyeagba, who were at the State House to express their support to the first lady.

    Nigeria’s first Lady, Aisha Buhari is full of praises for the government of the day for building medical center at the presidential wing  worth 21 Billion naira.

    According to Aisha, there will be no need to for the incoming president to travel abroad for medicals, saying the newly inaugurated medical center is world class.

    According to the first lady, she was the first to nurture the idea of a presidential wing in 2017, following her husband’s lengthy stay in London for medical treatment.

    Aisha added that she insisted that the presidential wing have a VIP wing within proximity of the presidential villa.

    “I’m quite happy, feeling fulfilled. Though we are leaving, all the same, we thank God that the project has become a reality,” Aisha said.

    “I have opted for it for six years now. I initiated this project six years ago when my husband spent three months abroad, consecutively, for 90 days. And it shouldn’t be because we have all the experts in Nigeria. We only need a good platform.

    “The hospital that is supposed to serve the First Family is serving like 35,000 people, which is quite much. That’s why I insisted we should have a VIP Wing within the proximity of the presidential villa.”

    When asked if the medical centre would eliminate the need for Nigerian leaders to seek treatment abroad, she replied, “Yes! This one is for the health and wellness of the First Family. They don’t need to go abroad now. They only need to maybe fly in experts to help our people. You know.

    “So, no need for any leader to spend months and months abroad because of health care.”

    First Lady Aisha Buhari on Tuesday took incoming first lady Mrs Oluremi Tinubu round some strategic areas of the official residence of the Presidential family in the Aso Rock Villa.

    Buhari who received Tinubu, explained that the glass House in the villa is a transitional home of the first family.

    She said the glass house is specifically meant for presidents during a transition period.

    According to reports, newsmen were not allowed access to some parts of the building during the tour.

    Buhari said:” The highly secured residential area of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is strictly to serve as an accomodation for the President and members of the family,” she said.

    She said that the glass house is a transit accomodation for outgoing presidents to pave way for necessary renovations on the main house for the incoming president and his family.

    Responding, Tinubu expressed appreciation to the first lady for the warm reception accorded her.

    Tinubu promised to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Nigerians.

    The President, Africa First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM) Mrs Aisha Buhari, has inaugurated the newly constructed headquarters of the mission along Airport Road in Abuja, Nigeria.

    Newsmen reports that the edifice was built on about 2.7 hectares of land acquired by the President while construction work began on Nov. 2021.

    The First Lady who was speaking shortly after the inauguration said, the Headquarters provides a befitting office accommodations to ensure a conducive working condition for members of staff of the mission.

    She also said that the building will serve as institution of promoting research on peace and security in Africa.

    ” Today’s location is another testimony in helping to bring about positive peace in Africa by establishing institutions and structures that will help to provide peace, and security research as well as impart the right knowledge, attitudes and values for sustainable peace and harmony across Africa.

    ” Because, most countries on the continent are going through trying times characterised by conflicts that tend to reverse the gains of our independence and development.

    ” Recent examples in Mozambique, Kenya and Sudan crisis, shows how fragile nations can exploit in our faces which we fail to act on the warning signals.

    ”Sadly, as a result of this conflicts our sisters first ladies in Mali and Chad have become Widows by the direct and indirect consequences of these conflicts” she said.

    The first lady therefore urged leaders across the continent to make efforts towards strengthen mechanisms that guarantee peace.

    ”Our leaders in peace building, mediation, conflict resolution, and post conflict reconstruction.

    ” I am happy to report that we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Africa Union to enable us collaborate on our mission to promote peace in Africa.

    She said, the edifice has six meeting rooms that were named after notable African leaders and a two hundred and fifty (250) seater capacity auditorium.

    Also speaking at the event, the former first lady of Malawi, Joyce Banda, urged African leaders to create job opportunities for the youths in other to reduce the rate of youth restiveness which in most times result to armed conflict on the continent.

    Banda therefore called for African leaders to pragmatic efforts towards reviving their state economy to avoid exodus of Africans into Europe searching for greener pasture.

    Banda explained that, most of the social and economic crisis around Africa was cause by the negative effect of climate change.

    She therefore expressed the need for leaders in Africa to canvass for justice against the devastating impact climate change.

    “ The time has come for Africa to seek for climate justice from those who cause this climate change“ she said.

    She therefore urged African first ladies to unite towards preventing food insecurity, climate change and ensure peace building to violent conflict against women and children in Africa.

    On his part, Mr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the African Union High Representative on Silencing the Guns, expressed optimism that, the new AFLPM Headquarters will help in preventing conflict and strengthen peace building initiatives on the continent.

    Most of the dignitaries who spoke at the event, expressed appreciation to the first lady of Nigeria for her commitment towards building a befitting edifice for the African first ladies.

    The event was attended by former and serving African first ladies as well as the wife of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the wife of the President-Elect Sen. Oluremi Tinubu

    The outgoing First lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, has congratulated the president-elect Bola Tinubu on his victory at the hard-fought polls.

    Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, Atiku Abubakar, who polled 6,984,520 votes while Peter Obi of the Labour Party, secured 6,101,533, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigerian Peoples Party trailed with 1,496,687.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Tinubu won in Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo (South West); Niger, Benue, Kogi, Kwara (North Central); Zamfara, Jigawa (North West); Borno (North East); and Rivers (South South).

    He got 25 percent of the total valid votes in 27 states.

    The states where he got the required spread are Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Bauchi, Yobe, Kano, Kebbi, Plateau, Gombe, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Katsina, Taraba, Lagos and Osun.

    Celebrating his victory on Wednesday, Mrs Buhari posted a couple of videos on Instagram with the caption “Alhamdulillah.”

    In one of the videos, people believed to be Tinubu’s supporters are seen celebrating his victory.

    She also posted another video of one of the campaign rallies that the APC women’s presidential campaign council held.

    Mrs Buhari, who in 2022 apologised to Nigerians who may have been disappointed by her husband’s governance, will cease to be Nigeria’s first lady on May 29, 2023.

    Aisha Halilu Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari and the first lady of Nigeria, today, February 17, 2023 added another year, as she clocks 52.

    This was disclosed by the former new media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, on Twitter.

    “Happy birthday to our First Lady, Her Excellency (Dr) Aisha Muhammadu Buhari” he posted.

    The first lady of Nigeria, born on February 17, 1971, in Adamawa State, northeastern Nigeria, is a cosmetologist and beauty therapist.

    Her grandfather, Alhaji Muhammadu Ribadu, was Nigeria’s first minister of defence.

    Aisha’s father was a civil engineer, and her mother is a descendant of the Ankali family, renowned farmers.

    Aisha and Muhammadu Buhari have five children together and one grandchild.

    For years, Aisha has run a successful business as the founder/managing director of Hanzy Spa and principal of Hanzy Beauty Institute, a beauty salon in Kaduna and Abuja.

    Aisha is a resource person to the National Basic Technical Education (NBTE), on beauty therapy and cosmetology and has participated in the curriculum development of small medium enterprises for NBTE.

    She closed her beauty salon following the emergence of her husband as president of Nigeria.

    Aisha published a book titled Essentials of Beauty Therapy: A Complete Guide for Beauty Specialists, which has been recommended as a text for the NBTE curriculum.

    The first lady of Nigeria is a vocal advocate of women’s rights and children’s rights, and this was a focal point during her campaign for her husband’s election in 2015.

    She has, on several occasions, emphasized the need for young girls to get primary and secondary school education before getting married, saying that she believes no girl should get married before the age of 17.[21] She has also criticized child marriage and homosexuality.

    In May 2015, on the sidelines of the Global Women Conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she stressed the need for Nigerian laws that will protect women from forced early marriages, sex trafficking and other issues Nigerian girls and women contend with. Aisha raised concerns on child sexual abuse in Nigeria and the need for legislation against early marriage.

    On 12 June 2015, Aisha Buhari met with some mothers of the abducted Chibok Girls[24] on 14 April 2016, and donated proceeds from her book to parents of the Chibok girls, the Buni Yadi boys murdered in 2014, and children suffering from malnutrition.
