Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp expresses shock as Mane pitches tent with Al Nassr

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has expressed shock over Sadio Mane’s transfer to Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr FC.

Klopp is surprise at Mane’s decision to join  Al Nassr after just a year at German side, Bayern Munich.

Mane left Anfield last summer after seven years to sign for the Bundesliga giants.

Bayern paid around £34million for the Senegal winger, who had just won two trophies for the Reds, finishing runners-up in the Premier League and finalists in the Champions League.

However, Mane’s single season turned into a nightmare as Bayern switched managers, and he had a public bust-up with team-mate Leroy Sane.

Mane has now put pen-to-paper on a £650,000-a-week deal with Al Nassr.

“I don’t know what went wrong [at Bayern].

“When he left us, he left us on a high in really good shape, a world class player.

“New environment, new expectations maybe. I didn’t speak to Sadio about it,” Klopp said.

  • C.Ronaldo faces deportation from Saudi Arabia for grabbing genitals

C.Ronaldo faces deportation from Saudi Arabia for grabbing genitals

Cristiano Ronaldo could be deported from Saudi Arabia after indulging in what seem to be counted as offensive in the Islamic nation.

According to Ronaldo’s club, Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo was suffering with a groin issue as he faces deportation calls for grabbing his crotch in front of fans.

The Portuguese star endured a frustrating night as his Saudi outfit were beaten 2-0 by Al-Hilal, which saw them lose ground in the title race. Ronaldo was booked for a WWE-style tackle and also found himself in hot water after appearing to respond to Lionel Messi-related taunts.

Ronaldo seemed to grab his genitals in front of a section of the crowd, which caused mass offence through the Kingdom. It led to a trend emerging online wanting Ronaldo ejected from the country, with the theme “Expelling the fan’s abuser”.

Lawyer Nouf bin Ahmed has reacted and wants Ronaldo to be reprimanded for his actions. He said on social media: “It is considered a crime of public dishonor, and it is one of the crimes that entails arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner,” he also signalled his intent to file a complaint to the Saudi Prosecutor’s Office for his “crime of public indecency”.

Al-Nassr though has cited a “sensitive” injury in that area of the body as they attempt to play down the gesture. The club’s board clarified the incident to journalist Muhammed Al-Enezi, who said in a statement on Wednesday: “Ronaldo suffers from an injury. His challenge with Gustavo Cuellar, the Al-Hilal player, started with a blow in a very sensitive area. This is confirmed information. As for the fans’ explanations, they are free to think whatever they want.”

The challenge the club referred to was heavily criticised and earned a yellow card from English referee Michael Oliver. Whilst his side were trailing 1-0, Ronaldo seemed to let frustration get the better of him as he leapt up and pulled his opponent from behind after grabbing him around the neck.

  • Al Nassr FC deny reports Ronaldo offered incentive to support World Cup bid

Al Nassr FC deny reports Ronaldo offered incentive to support World Cup bid

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr contract does not include any commitment to promote a 2030 World Cup bid, the Saudi Arabian club stated on Tuesday.

“Al Nassr FC would like to clarify that contrary to news reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr does not entail commitments to any World Cup bids,” a statement read.

“His main focus is on Al Nassr and to work with his team-mates to help the club achieve success.”

The Portugal forward joined Al Nassr on Dec. 30 after his departure from Manchester United FC, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract reportedly worth around €200 million ($215 million) per year.

Reports suggested Ronaldo’s agreement included an additional bonus to act as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s World Cup bid, with the Middle East aiming to host another tournament after Qatar 2022.

Al Nassr strongly denied claims Ronaldo had been offered a financial incentive to secure FIFA’s top tournament, with Spain, Ukraine and his home country Portugal among the others to make a joint bid to host.

Ronaldo is yet to make his debut for Al Nassr after missing Friday’s clash with Al Tai as he served the first part of a two-match ban from the English Football Association.
