Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers expect him to receive a two-year prison sentence for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
This is significantly less than the 51 to 63 months recommended by prosecutors. Combs’ attorneys have asked for his release on a $1 million bond, co-signed by his mother, sister, and the mother of his oldest daughter, Chance.
The judge overseeing the case, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, will determine Combs’ sentence. Combs has already spent 10 months in custody and will receive credit for time served. Prosecutors argue that Combs remains a danger to the community, citing allegations of a brutal assault on a woman known as “Jane” in June 2024 and possession of drugs and materials associated with “Freak offs” while awaiting arrest.
Combs’ lawyers dispute these claims, stating that there’s no evidence to support the government’s suggestion that he could still commit prostitution crimes.
They point out that Combs never contacted potential escorts or prostitutes during the investigation. The sentencing is set for October 3, with Combs facing up to 2 years in prison for the two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
