    Amotekun intensifies search for abducted Osun housewife

    The Osun State Command of the Amotekun Corps, on Sunday, said it has intensified its search for a housewife simply identified as Gbemisola abducted by some yet-to-be-identified persons in Osogbo.

    A statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Idowu Yusuf, said the victim was kidnapped in her residence at Technical College Area, Osogbo on Friday.

    According to him, the incident was reported to Amotekun leadership in Osun on Saturday by the husband of the victim.

    The statement assured that Amotekun operatives would intensify efforts to rescue the victim, adding that the perpetrators would also be apprehended.

    “The Osun Amotekun Field Commander, Mr Amitolu Shittu, received a distress call around 1:15 am on Saturday from the victim’s husband, Mr Ojo, a staff of NNPC on the disappearance of his wife.

    “Amotekun operatives immediately swung into action in search of the victim. The Field Commander, Shittu assured the inhabitants of the state that the woman would be rescued and the perpetrators brought to book,” the statement read in parts.

    TheNewsGur.com (TNG) reports that Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) codenamed Operation Amotekun (Leopard or Cheetah), is a security outfit based in all six states of South Western, Nigeria, responsible for curbing insecurity in the region.

    It was founded on 9 January 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria as the first regional security outfit initiated by a geopolitical zone in Nigeria.

    The operatives of the security outfit will assist police, other security agencies and traditional rulers in combating terrorism, banditry, armed robbery, and kidnapping and also help in settling herdsmen and farmers’ contentions in the region.

    For the startup, Lagos, Osun and Ekiti states, recruited 1,320 operatives for the operation, while they will carry Dane guns like local hunters, operating in about 52 deadly black spots all over the southwest region.

    Amotekun arrest three daredevil armed robbers in Ondo state

    The operatives of Amotekun security corps in Ondo state have arrested three notorious daredevil armed robbers terrorizing the communities in the state.

    Timilehin Femi, 13, Sunday Ojo, 16, and Matti Lowe, 16, were dubbed ‘Anini,’ ‘Oyenusi,’ and ‘Monday Osunbor,’ respectively, in the criminal world.

    The suspects were paraded at the headquarters of Amotekun in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital where the armed robbers confessed to taking part in over 40 operations.

    In his confession statement ‘Anini,’ said ”he began robbing when he was 12 years old and that his mother, Iyabo Femi was in the know, he claims that she used to give him charm to keep him from being caught.

    “I used to keep my gun inside the ceiling and sometimes I used to give it to our herbalist to keep. After robbery operations, we used to hand over the stolen goods to the herbalist who will in turn sell it. But we don’t hand over any cash to him. I have participated in about 46 operations. He said
