    SAD! Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Aromolaran joins ancestors

    The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has reportedly joined his ancestors.

    According to sources within the palace, Oba Aromolaran passed away yesterday after a brief illness.

    Though, palace of Owa Obokun has not issued any official statement as regards the passage of the monarch, but sources within the palace confirmed the death.

    “Baba has passed, but we are waiting for official announcement from the palace
    You can see that they have started performing some traditional rites.

    This has to be done before any announcement can be made, she added.

    It was observed that some traditional rites typically performed following the demise of a king are being carried out.

    The monarch reigned for over 4 decades.

    Osun monarch, Oba Okanola joins his ancestors

    Oba Akadiri Okanola the Olokinni of Okinni in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State, has joined his ancestors.

    His demise was reported few weeks after the passing of another traditional ruler in the state, the Elende of Eko-Ende, Oba Abdulrauf Olaniyan.

    Oba Okanola reportedly passed away late Saturday in a hospital in Osogbo, the state capital after a brief illness.

    His death was made public by Saheed Opatunji, a former Chairman of Egbedore Area Council.

    The Monarch’s demise has also been confirmed by palace officers but chose not to have their name in print.

    The Monarch’s real age wasn’t revealed as at when filing this report.

    Oba Okanola reigned for 32 years after being installed in 1991.

    The Monarch has been buried today Sunday according to Islamic rites.

    Just In: Prominent Yoruba monarch, Onikoyi joins his ancestors

    A prominent Yoruba monarch Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ile in Oriire Local government area of Oyo State, Oba Abdulyekeen Ayinla Oladipupo IV, has joined his ancestors.

    According to the report, the monarch joined his ancestors on Wednesday evening after a brief illness.

    Until his death, Oba Oladipupo was the chairman of the traditional council in Oriire local government area of Oyo state.

    The monarch ascended the throne in 2006 when he succeeded Oba Bello Adesite.

    Although there is no official announcement yet from the family, a reliable source hinted that Oba Ayinla’s demise would be announced soon.
