Angelina Jolie visits Burkina Faso refugee camp

Renowned actress, Angelina Jolie on Sunday visited a refugee camp in Burkina Faso sheltering thousands of Malians who had fled jihadist violence in the region.

Jolie visited the camp at Goudebou, in the northeast of the landlocked West African country, as part of her role as an ambassador for the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees.

TheNewsGuru reports that she arrived by helicopter accompanied by Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister, Alpha Barry, for a ceremony to mark World Refugee Day.

“I have marked this day every year for 20 years with refugees in different countries,” she said after her visit.

“I have never been as worried about the state of displacement globally as I am today,” she added.

“The truth is we are not doing half of what we could and should to find solutions to enable refugees to return home or to support host countries like Burkina Faso, coping for years with a fraction of the humanitarian aid needed to provide basic support and protection.”

During an attack in March last year, 9,000 refugees who were sheltering there despite previous raids, had been forced to flee, causing its de facto closure.

Since December, the Burkina Faso authorities and the UNHCR have been relocating the refugees there, having stepped up security at the camp.

There are now more soldiers posted at a new barracks and increased patrols.

Popular American actress, Angelina Jolie has said that her divorce from Brad Pitt was for the well-being of her family.

According to Vogue, a US-based celebrity magazine, Jolie said she took the right decision especially in the interest of her “six very brave” children.

“I separated for the well-being of my family. It was the right decision. I continue to focus on their healing,” she said on Friday.

“Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds.”

The ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ actress also narrated her initial fears about adopting her eldest sons — Maddox and Pax due to what she referred to as their “complex history”.

She, however, articulated her joy for eventually adopting the children who are from Cambodia and Vietnam — two nations known for their frosty relationships in the past.

“I thought of my own country and our involvement in Southeast Asia. I thought of focusing on a future where we were all family. I am very blessed to have been allowed to be their mum. I am grateful every day,” she added.

The 45-year-old movie star also recounted the sweet-bitter experience that comes with training children from biological and adoptive backgrounds.

“All adopted children come with a beautiful mystery of a world that is meeting yours,” she said.

In September 2016, about two years after their marriage, the actress had filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple had six children together – three biological children and three adopted — before their divorce.

  • Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt in champagne romance

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt went their separate ways last year after five years of marriage, but their chemistry is mixing up again, according to reports.

Incredibly, the relationship is being sewn together again in the vineyard of a chateau in France.

The former Hollywood couple who co-parented six children are coming together to make a new wine, in a few months time.

Reports, quoting UsWeekly said the duo will be coming out soon with a rose champagne from their winery Chateau Miraval in the south of France.

According to UsWeekly, the champagne collabo is happening as Pitt gets closer and closer to his other ex wife, Jennifer Aniston.

Pitt and Jolie bought the chateaux and vineyard in 2008 for a reported $67 million, which as well as 35 rooms, consists of a spa, hot tub and an indoor pool.

They wed at the chateaux in 2014, in a private affair with their six children attending – including Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old Knox and Vivienne.

The family also holidayed there for several years.

Mail Online reported that the estranged couple sold the first vintage wine from the vineyard, Côtes de Provence rosé, in 2012, which sold out in just five hours.

When they split, Pitt and Jolie decided to keep the vineyard for their children.

The new wine is a dry rosé and has fresh summer fruits taste to it, with hints of redcurrants, nectarines and ripe raspberries.

  • Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie agree on child custody

Popular Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have finally reached an amicable agreement on the custody of their six children, evading a potentially muddled public trial, US media reported on Friday.

Recall that Pitt and Jolie announced their separation in September 2016 after two years of marriage and 11 years together.

Three of their children are their biological children, and the other three are adopted.

“A custody arrangement was agreed two weeks ago, and has been signed by both parties and the judge,” Jolie’s lawyer, Samantha Bley DeJean, said in a statement carried by several US celebrity news outlets including TMZ.

“The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial,” she said.

The lovebirds had been set for a trial on December 4 — the deal means they will not battle in court.

Jolie initially wanted to have sole custody of the children, while Pitt asked for shared custody.

The terms of the agreement are confidential, DeJean said.

The couple is still working out the details of their divorce, with the distribution of assets reportedly proving especially thorny. Jolie and Pitt did not have a prenuptial agreement

  • Angelina Jolie,Brad Pitt’s relationship to be exposed in new film

Separated couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are about to have their relationship made into a documentary by film maker, Ian Halperin, 52.

Ian revealed that the movie will be an exposé on the life of the celebrity couple, including intimate details behind their breakup and never-before-seen footage and interviews of both of them.

Ian claimed that Jolie and Pitt had been separated for more than one year prior to announcing their break-up in public.

A source disclosed that Ian will reveal so many secrets, including the real reason why the couple broke up.

Angelina and Brad who are in the midst of a divorce will no doubt be affected by the release of this documentary and a source believes the documentary is the last thing the couple need at this time.

  • Revealed: The real reason Angelina Jolie divorced Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were involved in a messy divorce drama in 2016, with Angelina trying to gain sole custody of their six kids by accusing Pitt of being violent towards the kids.

According to TMZ sources that Angelina’s real reason for everything is because she is hoping to score a top position in the UN and move with her kids to London.

Moving with the kids she shares with Pitt all the way to London will not be possible except it’s proven that Pitt is an unfit father and these are allegedly her reasons for trying to make Pitt out as a violent, inattentive father.

The sources also revealed that Jolie and Pitt have not been getting along well for more than a year and she had been looking for an opportunity to end the marriage and leave with her kids for London believing that a move to London will bring her closer to clinching a UN job.

Jolie has allegedly been taking advice from two women, one is a member of England’s House of Lords, and the other also holds a U.K. government position. These women have been convincing her of the possibility of becoming the Secretary General of the UN if she does everything right and she pays these women handsomely for their counsel. It was allegedly for this reason that she accused Pitt of abusing Maddox during a flight and got the Department of Child and Family Services, DCFS, involved in the abuse allegations.

Recall that Jolie is involved in a number of humanitarian activities and was made an Honorary Dame by Queen Elizabeth II for her humanitarian endeavours. This makes it a possibility for her to get a UN appointment if she sets her sight on it.

Meanwhile, Jolie’s rep denied these allegations and said Jolie only wants what’s best for the children and doesn’t have any such move planned.

They added that she intends to continue therapy with the kids and Brad.

The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification,” the couple said in a statement.

Jolie and Pitt have been in the midst of a public divorce and custody battle over their children.
