Why I enjoyed dating 2face before he became famous – Annie Idibia

The wife of popular Nigerian singer, Annie Idibia has said that she enjoyed dating her husband 2face Idibia, before fame and age of social media.

The mother of two stated this in an interview with South African TV host and media entrepreneur, Olwethu Leshabane.

    When asked if she thinks the fact that she establish her connection with 2face before the fame and invasive public scrutiny has helped her weather the storms of love and how social media impacted the dynamics of their relationship, she said;

“Social media has its advantages and disadvantages. When I met Innocent (popularly known as 2Baba) there was no social media, as you said. He didn’t even have a single out now he has a discography that spans over two decades! It’s sad to see the current state of relationships as they have gone beyond what they should be because of social media. I would say that I enjoyed dating this man before he got famous because nobody was liking his pictures or trying to slide into his DM’s. It was beautiful. I had the best of Innocent before all the fame. It actually makes me sad for my daughters and all the single women who are trying to date in this current age of social media because I don’t think it’s healthy for relationships.

She also claimed that his family and management dislike her.

This led to a war of words between Annie’s family, the Macaulays and the Idibias.

Following the development, 2face, after warning his family members to stop the madness as he would not sit back and watch everybody ‘battle’ in the name of love, fled the country.

However, Annie in a post on her Instagram page on Saturday called for peace as she turns 37.

The mother of two said she let a lot of people down.

”The last 10 weeks have been the worst of my entire life. Yes the worst since I was born. I have gone from being so angry to being so broken and back to anger. And then Sadly which I am ashamed to admit suicide.

”I allowed my emotions to lead me into making bad decisions, allowed my anger and emotions, to make me act on something that’s wasn’t true cause I was kept in dark.

”I want to apologise to my husband, Inno. I am so sorry I threw you out there like I did (so unwise). That isn’t the kind of woman you married. I’m totally sorry for all the mental stress and heartbreak it caused you.

2face’s baby mama, Pero Adeniyi has urged Annie Idibia, wife of the singer to face her marriage, adding that she is not responsible for her marital woes.

Pero made this known in an interview with Stella Dimoko Korkus.

“The last time i saw Annie was in 2019 and i had a convo with her and advised her to try and be a good wife and work on making her Marriage work.
She knows i am not the issue in the marriage and I wonder why she would mention my name.. She knows Tuface and I are not in contact because she keeps a tab on my activities from what i hear…
The truth is that i am too busy with my life and kids to be running after Tuface.
This dragging on the Internet and all these lies are uncalled for really”.

Asked about ladies in a video reffering to her, Pero as 2face’s first lady, she said: “Those two Ladies in the video, one of them is Tuface’s cousin and they know the truth…they wonder why i have been on my lane and i keep getting dragged into Annies marital drama.::They are the only ones who can explain why they said what they said in the video. I am at peace with everyone. I have three kids for their brother so visiting me when i am in the Country should not be an issue or make headlines… I cannot answer why they made the video and posted it
I was upset at first but then i had to let go, I am a happy person and have no time to waste on anger of any kind”.

  • I have been through hell — Annie Idibia

I have been through hell — Annie Idibia

Nigerian actress, Annie Idibia, has said that she has been through hell from a very young age. The actress shared some of her experiences while growing up, stating that she had it rough.

The celebrated role interpreter and wife of celebrated singer, 2baba, while sharing a video collage of her pictures growing up via her verified Instagram page, revealed some of the adversity she faced growing up in their ‘Boys Quarters house in Mobil, VI’

Idibia said, “Looking at the beautiful young Annie in these pictures is lovely. I am so proud of you. I want to give you a big warm hug. You have been through all sorts of hell from a very young age, with so many responsibilities from so young. That girl never gave up (never will still).”

She further revealed that since she got to SS1 in her secondary school, she never enjoyed break time like other students as she had to sneak out of school to carry on with her mother’s side business.

The role interpreter continued, “From SS 1, she never knew what it felt like to go on ‘break time’ like other kids in school because that was when she sneaks out of school to rush to the market (the very old gateman, he was definitely in his 50s, became her friend), to buy her mother’s pepper soup ingredients that she would have to cook after school and sell in front of their Boys Quarters in Mobil, VI.

“She will wait till her single mother gets off work by 7 pm to take over from her (mom was a cook) those hours before 7 pm were the longest ever because she would have only a few hours left to study and do her homework before bedtime.”

The filmmaker also noted that despite all she went through at the time, she always wore a smile.

“Yet she always had a bright smile while serving their customers. She was so good at mathematics and physics. If you had ever met her. She always had a big bright smile to give with dreams way bigger than her (so I thought). The universe always had a way of constantly blessing her. She had so much love inside, so much love to give. Love so deep and unconditional.”

Idibia seized the opportunity to applaud herself for never giving up, saying, “I want to thank me for never giving up on me. For all the NOs I did not allow to discourage me and lose focus. I want to thank me for being so aggressive with my dreams and what I wanted. I want to thank me. I want to hug you, young Annie.

“Girl, you have come a long way. and you have done well (aspiring to do better and wiser). Adulthood is still the hardest. The saying, ‘whatever doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger,’ is the true interpretation of the life of this girl; now a strong woman! I have not even started, just only scratching the surface now.”

It is rare for you to find a husband who will be comfortable with another man kissing his wife.

  • Why you should be bothered about 2face

No popstar wakes up on a morning and takes to Twitter to apologize to his wife. If that said popstar happens to bear the name ‘Innocent 2face Idibia’ then there are more reasons to be bothered.

2baba, took to Twitter on Monday morning and tweeted “ I’m sorry to say that I have f*cked up so much. I have f*cked up as a role model as a father and as a husband. Annie im sorry. I know u tried your best.”, a tweet he later deleted.

On the same day, Annie shared an unusual post on her Instagram story saying that the most important lesson is learnt the hard way with an Emoji of’ hands on the face’ .

The posts shared by the one of the most celebrated showbiz couple in Africa isn’t a coincidence. There have been several speculations online that our ‘African Queen’ crooner may have been enmeshed in another ‘woman trouble’.

2face who has long entered the history books as one of the biggest artistes that ever came out of Africa may not have been able to snuff out the fire of his passion for women. It is no longer news that he has 2 children for Annie and five from the other women.

2baba is not one to hide his flaws, he is ever quick to chant one of the favourite statements in his 2004 song:”No body holy pass”.

For someone who is a don in the business of women(with past partners including ex-miss Nigeria Vien Tetsola, Caroline Ekanem and a certain Cathy Taylor ), his fans cannot fathom him being ensnared in yet another ‘woman palava’.

Though he has debunked asking for his wife’s forgiveness, many of his admirers are still thrown in a state of confusion after he sought apology for an undisclosed offence.
