    It was an atmosphere of pomp and pageantry as Ostra Heights Academy, Lagos celebrates its 23rd year anniversary on Friday.

    Founded in 1995 with just a Nursery section, the school has since blossomed to a full-fledged college with enviable achievements.

    Publisher of the TheNewsGuru.com, Mr. Mideno Bayagbon was at the anniversary to honour his friend, Pastor Oluwajoba whose son, Isaiah graduated.

  • Deltans have a lot to celebrate – Gov. Okowa

    Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, few days to Democracy Day, marking his third anniversary as governor of Delta state, has said the people of the State have a lot to celebrate.

    The Governor who spoke with enthusiasm on Tuesday shortly after inspecting some projects executed by his administration, told journalists that three years after, Deltans have a lot to celebrate and thank God for.

    “From 9 am on Tuesday, May 29, we will gather at the event centre to celebrate peace, to thank God for the peace and progress we have made as a state, the programme will be beamed live for Deltans who may not be able to join us at the event centre to participate in giving praise, dance and dance to the glory of God for His goodness,” the Governor said.

    “We have just inspected the Stephen Keshi Stadium, the Asaba Airport and the storm drainage projects and we are happy with the level of progress made in the execution of the projects, we have adopted regular monitoring of the projects to ensure that the jobs are done to specification and delivered on time,” he added.

    The Governor who was accompanied by all the members of the State executive council as the inspection commenced immediately after their meeting, disclosed that the contractors have been ordered to work day and night to ensure that they deliver the projects before scheduled dates.

    He noted that the runway of the Asaba International Airport will be completed before May 29, observing that the runway was very critical for the effective functioning of the airport.

     

  • Delta Govt. to mark Okowa’s 3rd anniversary in grand style

    As part of the activities to mark the third anniversary of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration, Delta State Government would hold an inter-denominational praise and worship programme in Asaba.

    Chairman of the organising committee for the anniversary celebration, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, in a statement, said that the programme which is billed to hold on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Event Centre, Asaba from 9.00am will feature eminent preachers, and renowned gospel singers.

    According to him, “Deltans have a lot of reasons to celebrate; it is celebration of peace, unity, positive development in terms of landmark infrastructure. This year’s celebration is unique, we are celebrating three years of God’s goodness on Deltans through the instrumentality of Governor Okowa’s administration”.

    He enjoined Deltans and lovers of democracy to come and celebrate God’s goodness to the state through praise and thanksgiving,

    Artistes expected to perform at the event, according to him, include Chioma Jesus, Sammy Okposo, Prosper Ochimana, David G, Samsong, Elijah Oyelade, and Onyekan Dunsin.

    Prominent Deltans from all walks of life including Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy, Deacon Burutu Otuaro is expected to grace the Thanksgiving Event.

     

  • Adeboye storms TBS for First Born Family 30th anniversary

    Two weeks after the celebration of his 76th birthday, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye will on Sunday storm the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos for yet another celebration as the church’s First Born Family marks its 30th anniversary.

    Pastor Adeboye is expected to speak on a topic titled; “From Glory to Glory” at the yearly Power Conference pa kaged by the First Born Family of the Church which perfected an arrangement to ferry participants from different points in Lagos Free of charge. There will also be free food for participants.

    Addressing newsmen at the Region 19 Headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Ikeja, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer in charge of Missions and the Pastor-in-charge of Region 19, Pastor Brown Oyitso traced the history First Born Family which was born with a vision to pursue mission work aggressively, both locally and international to the General Overseer.

    Pastor Oyitso who was flanked by the chairman, Planning Committee of the 30th anniversary, Pastor Yemi Lebi, Assistant Pastor-in-charge of Region 19, Pastor Jide Akiode and Publicity Committee chairman, Pastor Dele Jayeoba, said when Pastor Adeboye was made General Overseer of the church ”he received the vision to start a model parish which was meant to reach out to young and upwardly model professionals.”

    According to him, the initial church at Ladipo Oluwole in Ikeja grew to over 1,000 parishes within one year despite the “initial teething challenges faced, just like any other human organization, we waxed stronger. Today, the single young church has grown into a network of over 2,500 churches within Nigeria with 15 provinces and many more are still being planted.”

    Oyitso added that the First Born Family which has been growing in leaps and bounds with incredible testimonies too numerous to mention, has hundreds of foreign missions parishes in all the continents of the world and has also grown to become a region within the RCCG Family.

    As a way of celebrating God’s faithfulness, “we gather every year to rejoice, thank God and be blessed for the coming year at a time we call “Power Conference”. It is the anniversary of the First Born Family in RCCG and on a yearly basis, new things happen. We are take. To greater heights and we receive prophecy for the new year.

    “Last year, the theme was “Tirning Point”, and undoubtedly, God has turned things around in the lives, businesses, ministries and families within the FBF. We believe it’s now time to go from Glory to Glory. That’s why the theme for this year’s anniversary was divinely chosen,” Pastor Oyitso said urging Lagosians to take advantage of the branded buses across the metropolis.

    The First Born Family also known as Region 19 of the RCCG is hosting the annual Power Conference with theme, “From Glory to Glory” from 7.30 a.m. on Sunday with the 76-year old General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye ministering.

  • U.S. congratulates Pope Francis on 5th anniversary

    The U.S. has congratulated Pope Francis on the fifth anniversary of his election to the See in Rome.

    U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in a statement, commended the cordial relations between the U.S. and Rome.

    “On behalf of the U. S. Government, I offer my congratulations to His Holiness Pope Francis on the fifth anniversary of his election to the See of Rome.

    Tillerson said President Donald Trump’s historic meeting with Pope Francis on his first foreign trip in May 2017 underscored the importance of this partnership.

    “I join millions of Americans in congratulating the Holy Father on this anniversary and look forward to our continued work together to promote peace, freedom, and human dignity around the world,” Tillerson said.

    It’s hard to believe that three years ago on June 12 , fans around the world heard the shocking news that Kefee had passed away. The gospel artiste reportedly died of lung failure in a Los Angeles hospital. While every anniversary brings a variety of emotions to fans of the Branama sensation, one can’t help but acknowledge her impact in the Nigerian music industry .Her ever green hit songs, Branama and Kokoro remains irresistible whenever they are being played.
