“I don’t see any reason Arsenal would not be in the title race. Arsenal have the quality to beat them which they’ve proved.

“It’s only Manchester City out of the top teams who have looked stronger than Arsenal, so absolutely they should be looking into being in a similar position next season.”

The Magpies currently sit in third place on the Premier League table, behind second-placed Arsenal.

“It is a top ground to go to, and with the form Newcastle United are in, it is going to be tough for Arsenal,” Aliadiere told Premier League Betting.

“When you look at the form, Alexander Isak is in at the moment, and with William Saliba not there and Gabriel hobbling off the other night, you are thinking it will be a tough game for the defence.

“I still back Arsenal to win; I think they will get a result, but it will be tight. I could see us winning 2-1, as Arsenal, unfortunately, are not great at keeping clean sheets,” he said.

  • Man City vs Arsenal: Tactics, predicted team list, injured players revealed

Man City vs Arsenal: Tactics, predicted team list, injured players revealed

Manchester City host Arsenal in what Pundits have dubbed the title decider of the current season.

Nathan Ake and Riyad Mahrez may likely miss today’s encounter against Arsenal, Spaniard Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

The Dutchman is still suffering from the hamstring injury that forced him off during last week’s Champions League win over Bayern Munich.

While, Ake is completely ruled out  a big doubt is cast on  Mahrez’s availability for the crunchy encounter.

City trail the Gunners by five points but have two games in hand, and can take real control of the title race should they come out on top at the Etihad and extend their winning run in the League to seven matches.

Mahrez did not play a single minute across the two legs in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, but started against Sheffield United in the FA Cup and scored a hat-trick to send City through to the final.

He will therefore hope to get the nod over Bernardo Silva on the right, while Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri should both return to the starting lineup after being rested at Wembley.

Aymeric Laporte will likely continue on the left of the defence, with John Stones coming back in to take up his hybrid midfield role.

After two cameo appearances off the bench, Phil Foden is in contention for his first start in a month, but he may well have to wait for his chance again as Jack Grealish continues to shine on the left.

Predicted Man City XI: Ederson; Akanji, Dias, Laporte; Stones, Rodri; Mahrez, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Grealish; Haaland

Similarly, Arsenal defender William Saliba will miss Wednesday night’s crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City with his back injury.

According to Arteta, the player has shown no sign of an improvement.

He said “There’s not been a real improvement unfortunately on him, so we are still waiting. It’ll be another week that has gone by and he hasn’t been able to train with the team.”

    Players to watch out for
with 32 goals to his name already, Erling Haaland is the most prolific striker at the moment. His eyes for goals and clinical finishes sets him miles apart.
Definitely, all eyes will be on the Norwegian tonight at the Etihad.
Martin Odegaard, incidentally another Norwegian is the x-factor for Arsenal, he’s turned many games around with his wonderful display in the middle of the pack.

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has revealed that one of his key players is out injured and will not be available for the clash of the titans with Arsenal FC on Wednesday night.

Ake picked up a hamstring problem during their 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week.

According to Guardiola, Ake could also miss the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid coming up next week.

He said “Nathan Aké won’t be available vs Arsenal. Hopefully he can come back soon.

“Back vs Real Madrid? I don’t know… We will find the right player to do it.

“I don’t have doubts. We’ll play with 11,” Guardiola told reporters.
