    Controversial musician, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has opened up to his fans about the reason behind his ‘street’ behaviour, saying “people will always cheat you if you are calm”.

    The “Zazuu” crooner made this known in a recent interview hosted by Timi Agbaje, where he was asked why he always fights online.

    Reacting to the question, Portable asked the interviewer if he had been cheated before and he said yes.

    Portable further asked if he called out or fought the person over the wrong deed and the interviewer replied no.

    Portable then informed the interviewer that he will keep on getting cheated by people until he learns to stop being calm.

    He added that since he (Portable) does not want to be cheated on, he will continue fighting anyone who ever tries to bully him.

    When asked what would he do to have reached the top of his career, Portable revealed that it would be winning the Grammy. He further revealed that’s last album ‘Son Of Ika’ was a play at winning the Grammy.

    The headline-making artist revealed that he wishes to win the award for the best African artist at the Grammys.

    Revered singer and songwriter, Bukola Elemide a.k.a Asa has lamented about the Lagos of today.

    The ‘Bed of stones’ singer in a chat with media personality, Ebuka Uchendu was asked to liken the Lagos of today to that of her childhood.

    While responding to the question, she said: “People are not really kind anymore. Young people have this idea. Everyone is a salesman, we are no longer kind to each other.I feel it’s the economy. If you don’t have something to eat, you will get angry. You will get angry, impatient and unkind”.

    Asa who dropped out from the university to focus on her passion for music years back, noted she had this blind confidence when she made that life altering decision. There was this blind confidence I had when I dropped out.It was full of hunger. That hunger was so much, powerful. My focus was to be on the big stage and nobody was going to take me off that path. To get there, these were the things I needed to do. I was super happy when I was suffering, I didn’t even know I was suffering. I didn’t know that I didn’t have things to eat. In Paris I went as a student, I would only spend one euro a day. Because I needed to save money to come back home”.

    Bukola Elemide, award-winning Nigerian singer better known as Asa, recently paid a courtesy visit to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa in Abuja.

    Asa took to her Instagram page to share photos of the visit on Tuesday.

    The pictures showed several aspects of the meeting including a session where she could be seen having a conversation with the vice-president.

    The songstress did not reveal when she visited the vice-president or the intent of the visitation.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Osinbajo also recently hosted Teni Apata, at Aso Rock.

    In an interview, Asa revealed that her parents height made her love tall guys.

    “I am crazy for tall guys. They could be dark. If you are dark, be very dark. Then, it takes me time to think, ‘Does he have a brain?’ If my future man is short, if I ever get married, I won’t complain. I do hope he is not short, because my parents were short and I wasn’t happy about that.”

    The ‘Torn’ singer made this known in a chat with Ndani TV show.

    According to her: ”As I grow older, I become selfish. You see that thrill when I wake up, can you respect it? The guy I was in a relationship with, he was an English man; he would say ‘don’t go to her early in the morning, leave her alone.’ By 8 o’clock I’m all yours do whatever you want,” she said.

    “I was telling Janet that would anyone understand when I tell them that I want to be by myself by 4 and she said ‘just tell them from the beginning.’

    “I remember this guy he was amazing…if I have been dating Volkswagen he was a Rolls Royce. I couldn’t be by myself which was a no end. That actually one of the reasons I left because it was too much of that person.”

    “If I get married and you do that to me…sometimes I think maybe we should have two houses so we can walk down to my house or maybe we should have two rooms…”

    Popular singer, Davido has been slammed by a myriad of Nigerians over struggling to sing Asa’s song.

    The artistes sang each other’s songs, thrilling thousands of their fans who watched from home.

    However, the high point of the show was when Davido was performing Asa’s ‘Bibanke’. The ‘Assurance’ singer had issues with singing the song well as a result of his voice texture.

    Bukola Elemide, Nigerian-French vocalist better known as Asa, has announced an e-concert slated to hold live on YouTube on Sunday, March 29th.

    Asa who is presently in Nigeria announced via a post on her social media page

    “I hope you are keeping safe and physically distancing yourself. I will be having an acoustic concert on @YouTube Live, #stayhome and sing #withme on Sunday March 29th at 6pm WAT/GMT and 7pm CET. Subscribe and set your reminder on the link in bio,” she wrote on Instagram.

    The move comes days after the singer disclosed she had cancelled her three-city tour amid coronavirus fears.

    The tour, earlier billed to kick off on March 29, in London and then Lagos and Abuja on April 11 and April 13 respectively, stretches the list of other events earlier fixed by Nigerian singers but was later postponed due to the pandemic.

    Nigerian singer and guitarist, Bukola Elemide a.k.a Asa recently revealed that she started out as a rapper, but failed at it.
    The 37-year-old opened up on the artistes with whom she looks to collaborate in subsequent projects while speaking with Cool FM.
    “People who knew me, in the beginning, would remember that I started out as a rapper. But I know that I sucked. So, I just humbled myself and stuck to where God really put me,” she said.

     

    “But I love rap music. You know I listen to Drake. Even TI, I love what he’s done. You know, his community. I like G-Eazy. I love Cardi B also, she cool.”

     

    In the interview, Asa revealed that she was born in France before she moved to Nigeria with her parents.
    There is a connection to France. That is where I got my first record deal. I was born there,” the singer said.
    My father studied cinematography there and he wanted to come back to make Nigeria better, I grew up here, I grew up in Lagos, but somehow, I don’t know if it’s destiny, something else took me to France and I’ve been going back there.
    “I speak French, I won’t say fluently,” she also said.
    Although she didn’t give many details, Asa revealed that Yahoo Boys, the Nigerian term for internet criminals emptied her bank account in 2019.

    The singer had also gotten embroiled in a fresh wave of controversy after a Lagos court ordered his arrest over alleged car theft. The case was later dismissed.

    Marley had fizzled into the spotlight in 2019 after the country’s anti-graft agency arrested him on account of his controversial 2019 track and social media comments alleged to have upheld cybercrime.
