I fell out with Basketmouth over N30,000 – AY Comedian

Ayodeji  Makun popularly known as AY Comedian has finally revealed what caused the rift between him and colleague Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth.

Recall that sometimes last year, AY had during a question and answer session on his Instagram page, stated that Basketmouth has uncontrollable superiority complex, adding that he had to avoid his colleague’s incessant childishness to keep his sanity.

AY Comdeian has now given a more detailed information on what caused the rift cum malice between him and Basketmouth during an interview with popular media personality Chude Jideonwo.

According to AY “In 2006, Basketmouth usually had multiple wedding gigs on Saturdays’. So what he used to do at that point in time was to attend one, and at a point, leave the venue to catch up in the other venue, and then he will need someone else to stand in for him. That was the opportunity one got, of which I’m very appreciative of till date.

“Now, One of the gigs that I got his endorsement to go stand in. Usually, what we get at that time is N30,000 and 30,000 at that time was everything to me. I got this job, and the people weren’t too happy to see me because they were expecting Basketmouth to come, but the guy was later happy after my performance. There was an exchange of contacts. Then I left.

“Two weeks later, I haven’t seen 30k. Because I didn’t see the 30k, and I was starving, I decided to ask for 30K, and he said this person hasn’t remitted, this person hasn’t paid, And then i was like, but this person said he was impressed and happy? Me, I don’t care if you give Basketmouth 100k for the job, but my 30k is my 30k.

“It was very funny to now heard from them that the full payment had been made long before the event. I forwarded their message to one another. So they now started fighting and all of that. 1 didn’t do that because I wanted to get at Basketmouth. But because I was hungry, I was hustling and I needed food on the table at the time.”

Recall that Basketmouth, during a Black Box interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu in 2021, noted that he fell out with AY because he messed with loyalty.

Celebrity fashion designer, Yomi Casual opens up on being ‘gay’

Celebrity fashion designer, Olorunyomi Omoniyi Makun, professionally known as Yomi Casual, has finally opened up on being gay.

The AY comedian’s brother took to his Instagram page to call out those spreading rumors against him to desist from such, saying he didn’t know where such had emanated from.

Yomi in a lengthy note containing many curses, said he would wish for his own death if the allegations were true.

“It is always easy for family and friends to reach out and say, ignore them. Silence is golden. They will get tired and move on to the next person. But I’m the one wearing the shoes, and I’m the one feeling all the damages and pains to my reputation as a husband, father and businessman.”

continuing he stated that he has never nursed the idea of being gay and will never do so, Yomi cursed himself, saying he should face grave consequences if he ever nursed the idea of being gay.

“Coming out of church today and having reflected on all the lies against me, I want to say I am not too good a Christian who would turn and take a slap on the other cheek. Enough is enough. Should I Omoniyi, Olorunyomi Makun be gay or nurse any idea of sleeping with a fellow man, may death take me before my time, and may everything that God has blessed me with be taken away from me. May failure become my portion in everything that concerns me till death.”

“On the other hand, if these are fabrications borne out of jealousy, envy, insecurities, or wickedness and I pray for God to vindicate me. May those of you who share such lies against me also be entertained by the pain you have brought to my family. Today, I pronounce doom, death, and destruction on anyone who would continue to incite lies to assassinate my character.

”Enough is enough. Note: As you come here to say “no blog mentioned your name, but some of you remembered to tag me or put in a comment with my name in their comment sessions. May you and your entire family suffer from depression and untimely death”, he said.

Recall that the fashion designer’s wife, Grace Makun, had last week come out to dare anyone with proof of the gay allegation to come out with it in 24 hours.

Also, over the weekend, Comedian Ayo Makun, better known as AY, a senior brother to the fashion designer, noted that those are traits one can never trace to the Makuns family.

“It’s all about entertainment for these evil people. They are traits you will NEVER EVER trace to the Makuns’. You already know who you marry, go to bed. As for the bloggers, I still have their tablets. They will use backup accounts again when I strike as usual.”

Ace comedian, Ayo Makun better known as AY has stated that his wife’s beauty sometimes takes the shine off him.

During the week, AY and his wife, Mabel, were hosted by popular motivational speaker, Fela Durotoye, in commemoration of the latter’s 50th birthday, which comes up in May.

Praising his better half, AY said, “She is not the type that wants to be out there for any reason. In her line of work, she can give you 100 per cent. I am in show business and I know I have a very beautiful wife. Even if I feel like I don’t know, there are people around me who would confirm it to me. I go to events and many times, the focus is off me, who is even the entertainer, (and shifts to my wife)”.

On the other hand, Mabel revealed that she decided to marry AY because of his enterprising nature. She said, “When it comes to relationships, I like to take my time to study people. From a distance, you can tell that I am a bit reserved. I like to study people and know if that is the kind of person I can cope with. I like to have conversations with the person to see if we align. It took me about two years to study him, having spent time with him. As friends, I used to travel with him. Along the line, I realised he is very hard working and focused. He did not have so much then, but he was content with the little he had. He is a kind of person that likes to take things one step at a time. I saw that in him as well and liked it.”
