VIDEO: Masquerades campaign for Tinubu, Omo-Agege in Warri

Some masquerades were sighted campaigning for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a traditional carnival in Warri, Delta state.

The traditional carnival is known as Anwakere Festival, popularly referred to as the Okere juju festival amongst residents of Warri.

The masquerades in their numbers lined out in colourful costumes made with fabrics of the APC’s 2023 presidential and gubernatorial hopefuls, Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege respectively.

It was gathered that APC leader, Chief Ayiri Emami, who is an indigene of the Okere community, facilitated the costuming of the masquerades.

The 2022 edition of the annual Anwakere Festival (aka Okere Juju), which is the 525th edition, rounded off on Saturday, August 13, 2022.

I can boldly say Tinubu is from Delta State – Ayiri Emami

All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, Ayiri Emami, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu is from Delta State.

Emami made the remark while stressing that Tinubu was the best person to be APC’s presidential candidate.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday, Emami described the Tinubu-Kashim Shettima ticket as a good product that the ruling party can easily market.

According to Emami: “When a product is good, you don’t need a lot of advertisements to sell it. Asiwaju is a very good product in Delta State, I don’t see any difference in other parts of Nigeria, if Asiwaju can get it in other parts, he can equally get it in the South-South because he is a very good product to market on his own.

“To me, I will tell you that Asiwaju is from Delta State because, in Itsekiri, they will tell you that the in-law is the third family member.

“I can boldly tell you that Asiwaju is from Delta State. Being that he is from Delta, Asiwaju is from South-South.”

  • [AMC] Right of Reply: Eyengho your sin was working with Ayiri Emami against collective interest

[AMC] Right of Reply: Eyengho your sin was working with Ayiri Emami against collective interest

Peeved by Alex Eyengho’s reaction to his sudden removal from prestigious Alpha May Club, AMC, the Movement for the Protection of Iwere Homeland, Development and History,MPIHDH has replied saying that his sin was working with Ayiri Emami against collective interest of critical stakeholders.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports this was contained in a statement jointly signed by both National President and National Secretary of MPIHDH, Comrade Aderojor Ologhojoba James and Comrade Lucky Ayomike Okonedo.

In the right of reply, the organization pooh-poohed all the allegations raised by Eyengho giving various reasons as to why he was booted out of AMC.

The bottom-line was that he worked against the collective interest of critical stakeholders of Iwere Homeland as he laced his boots with the derobed Ologbotsere of Itsekiri, Ayiri Emami.

    Read full statement below:

THE BOOTING OUT AND OSTRACISATION OF MR ALEX EYENGHO BY ALPHA MAY CLUB AND HIS PUBLIC LAMENTATIONS AND OUTCRY: AN ACTION THAT OTHERS SHOULD EMULATE TO SAVE THEIR INTEGRITY AND REPUTATION.

    1. The attention of the Movement for the Protection of Iwere Homeland, Development and History (MPIHDH) has been drawn to what can best be described as a very desperate and last minute face saving attempt by an already drowning man to hang onto any straw by publicly trying albeit unsuccessfully to wipe up sentiments and cry wolf where there is none.

    2. After several months of painfully wallowing in silent regrets over his past anti-Itsekiri actions that have finally cost him one of the most influential platforms through which he markets and throws himself around with pride everywhere he goes around the world, and has shamefully been living in self denial of the catastrophic and damaging consequences of the decision of the leadership and members of the prestigious Itsekiri socio-cultural organization, Alpha May Club Lagos to use the hammer after several diplomacy failed to bring the recalcitrant member to line, the Chief antagonist of the need to protect the fundamental rights of others as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Altered) especially the principles of freedom to fair hearing, freedom from discrimination, personal liberty, freedom of expression, peaceful association, natural justice, equity, and good conscience in Iwereland, the ignoble Alex Eyengho, is asking for what he never gave to others in all his dealings in Warri Kingdom strangely.

    3. In a badly written and emotionally laden 7 paragraph rejoinder titled, “Re-Alpha May Club Boots Out Alex Eyengho, Here Is Why”, released online and personally signed by Alex Eyengho on 27th December, 2021 it could be seen how Alex Eyengho tried lamentably to tactically use the rejoinder to plead with the leadership of the Alpha May Club to temper justice with mercy by indirectly telling them that they never gave him an opportunity to “defend himself”which is one of the fundamental rights of any person in any dispute as provided for under section 36 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Altered). It was however clear to discerning minds that the usual plague called “PRIDE” which has brought so many people down in recent times will not allow him to ask for forgiveness privately or publicly.

    4. While we will not waste our precious time on analysing the entire hollow rejoinder, it is however good that we point out some of the inconsistencies tucked intentionally in the article just to mislead the public and blackmail others. The first claim of Alex was that when Emmanuel Onminyi of “thegisttoday.com” an online platform released the news of his expulsion from Alpha May Club on 20th September, 2021, he did not bother to respond to what he called “an obscure and unprofessional” online platform. He only decided to respond after waiting for good 3 months when the Alpha May Club did not do any disclaimer to the article. But in a complete twist of facts and self contradiction, the same Alex who initially said he was not aware of where the online platform got it’s story about his ex-communicatuon published on 20th September, 2021, declared in paragraph 2 that in fact, a decision to expel him from the Club was actually passed to him in a general meeting of the Club which he personally admitted in his rejoinder that he attended via Zoom the previous day, 19th September, 2021. That cannot amount to shaving a man’s hair on his behalf in any sense of the word. Was Alex Eyengho expecting an organization such as AMC with well experienced men and women to expel him without disclosing same to the members of the public in case of liabilities tomorrow? Or he was thinking AMC was like Ugborodo community where the entire community will sit down in Ikpere hall to take a collective decision to move the community forward in the afternoon, but in the night he and his cohorts will wake up the next morning to doctor the consensus of the people thereby creating problems for the people?. Whosoever suggested that the expulsion should be published, gave the best advise. It perfectly forecloses the room for manipulation or reading a different meaning to the collective agreement of the members of AMC.

    5. The action of AMC was the correct one since under the same paragraph 2, Alex Eyengho again admitted that in August 2021, Mr Aji Rone-Orughbo (may God bless him), has raised a point of order for his expulsion because his role as a self acclaimed spokesperson of the Ologbotsere Descendants Worldwide was in conflict with the position of the group to support the new Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse lll. How can Alex Eyengho take that same myopic and greedy spirit of one man always wanting to use his personal and selfish interest to lord it over others as is the order of the day in Ugborodo community where he hails from to an organization like AMC with members that has seen the four walls of life?. This is the same Alex Eyengho that will want to claim at every given opportunity that he is a “DEMOCRAT” but do not believe that democracy is the rule of the majority. The same man that has always cried foul that since he allegedly got the votes of the majority during all his abysmal attempts to represent his people, he was denied trying to singlehandedly subvert the will of the majority of the members of AMC. What an audacity?. The same thing that his Oga tried to do with the majority of the Itsekiri people that backfired irredeemably and irretrievably.

    6. Alex Eyengho shamefully asked rhetorically in paragraph 4 what was his sin? This was very ridiculous and laughable. His sin was that he was trying to work against the collective interest of the entire Itsekiri people which the AMC members belongs. His sin was that he was working for the personal interest of “ONE MAN” against the”COLLECTIVE INTEREST” of the Itsekiri people represented by the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse lll the Olu of Warri which carries the aspirations of the Itsekiri people worldwide for a drastic change from the status quo which has made Itsekiri nation a laughing stock for sometime now. Since his actions were ultra vires with the collective wishes of the Club, the principle of necessity must come to play even if it can be proven that there is no provision for expelling a member in such a manner in the Club’s constitution. Keeping such a dangerous person around in the register of such an organization under such a tense situation can be misconstrued by others including the Movement of strong support for the atrocities of Alex Eyengho. If an organization terminates an employee occupying a sensitive position or is likely to cause some problem, it is trite to make such decisions public. This will completely exculpate the former employer of any liability thereafter. Why should Alex Eyengho be crying that the decision was public? Did he have some uterior motives?

    7. We wish to wholeheartedly salute the examplinery leadership qualities of the AMC in not wasting any time to take this remarkable and wise decision. Rather than play the ostrich like other Itsekiri youths organizations and sociocultural organizations have decided to do, they have proven to be worthy ambassadors of Iwereland. This decision has again reenforced our hope and confidence on the prestigious Club that their seminar held on February 6th, 2020 at Aghofen, Palace of the Olu of Warri where our demised Olu Ogiame Ikenwoli was personally in attendance to listen to strategies on how to move Itsekiri nation forward was not a fluke after all. With this decision, we publicly declare our admiration for the AMC and our willingness to create a mutual partnership that will enable us to tap from the wealth of experience of the prominent Itsekiri sons and daughters in the organization. We therefore use this opportunity to openly call on other Itsekiri groups who are still keeping Alex Eyengho in their fold to also do the needful before their hard earned reputation and integrity is dragged to the mud by associating with such a bad character. The first picture attached below is the one we took on 6th of February, 2020 at Aghofen, Palace of the Olu of Warri when we got an invitation to attend that wonderful seminar on how to make Itsekiri better. The AMC still have a lot to do in partnership with the new Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse lll in proffering solutions to Itsekiri myriads of challenges. It therefore cannot block that good relationship required to make that happen by following one greedy person to ruin it hard earned name. Just like the initial suspension and subsequent de-robing of Mr Ayiri Emami as the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom was sacrosanct, so also is the expulsion of Alex Eyengho sacrosanct. Let him go to court. We will all meet him there.

NB: There is no Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom for now. The former occupant Mr Ayiri Emami was correctly derobed of the title by the SOLE AUTHORITY in Warri Kingdom, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse lll on the 5th of October, 2021 right inside the ancient palace and the message was personally conveyed to the head of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan Descendants Worldwide, Pa. Higson Jofotan Oporokun, the Olori-Ebi and Olaraja of Jakpa community. Whatever imiginery fight that Alex Eyengho claimed he was fighting for the Ologbotsere family that made Ayiri Emami haters to hate him the more that made him to be booted out through the window from AMC, is false. He was fighting for his personal daily bread in the hands of Mr Ayiri Emami. The public should please take note. Let Alex Eyengho show a letter or petition he personally wrote to the leadership and members of AMC after he was told that he has been expelled explaining himself or demanding for for the setting up of a committee as he suggested and he was not attended to. It is one thing to allege something. It is another kettle of fish to adduce incontrovertible evidences to prove the allegation. He cannot say he was not given an opportunity of fair hearing when he did nothing for 3 whole months to utilize the internal mechanism of the Club to resolve the issue privately. Equity they say aids the vigilant not the indolent. Only “Itsekiris by BIRTH” and not “by HEART” should be seen fraternizing with a destroyer such as Alex Eyengho in any capacity

AMC: How I was victimised for supporting Ayiri Emami – Eyengho

…says no regrets as I have moved on

… it was a military action without fair hearing

Alex Oritsegbeyiwa EYENGHO, a former prominent member of the Alpha May Club (AMC) has stated why he unceremoniously left the club explaining that he was victimised for supporting Ayirimi Emami.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports Eyengho via a statement he issued on Monday stating the obvious reasons that led to his departure from the club after 16years of absolute dedication to all tenets of the group.

He explained that the action that led to it and the aftermath was more of a military action as he was at no time given the right to a fair hearing.

    Read full statement below:

*RE: “ALPHA MAY CLUB BOOTS OUT ALEX EYENGHO. HERE’S WHY”*

    1. My attention was drawn on September 20, 2021, to the above-captioned report written by one Emmanuel Onminyi in a so-called online medium that styles itself *thegistday.com* Normally, I don’t join issues with, or dignify reports in obscure and unprofessional online media such as this but had to do it in this instance because this particular report quoted an unnamed source in the Alpha May Club (AMC). It is also important to state that since this childish online report on September 20, 2021, I had maintained my cool, giving the AMC enough room and believing that it would issue a counter statement dissociating itself from the *thegisday.com* charade. The fact that the AMC failed to do this over three months after, confirms to me that some characters in the club were behind the online report for reasons best known to them. Because the Internet does not forget, this press statement by me, therefore, is to set the records straight and allow the reading public hear from me.

    2. Let me make it clear that at the general meeting of AMC held via Zoom and physically on September 19, 2021, with me in attendance via Zoom, the current Chairman of the club, Brigadier General (rtd) Emico Eruwa announced that after a meeting of the current Executives with some Elders of the Club, it was resolved that I, Alex Eyengho be removed forthwith as a member of the AMC. Part of the reasons alluded to for this weird and unprecedented decision in the about 35 years of the existence of AMC was the point of order raised by Mr Aji Rone-Orugbo during the AMC meeting of August 2021 and my role as the Spokesperson of the Ologbotsere Descendants Worldwide, which in the view of some of the Elders and Executives was conflicting with the position of the club to fully support the new Olu of Warri. This bizarre pronouncement by the Chairman was supported by Chief Jemine Akpieyi-Otuedon and Mr Isaac Sobotie.

    3. It is instructive to quickly state at this point that even though I was in attendance at the said meeting, I was not given any opportunity whatsoever to defend myself. It was like a military pronouncement after a court marshal. It was more or less shaving my hair in my absence. No fair hearing whatsoever before, during or after the said meeting. No Committee was set up by the club to look into the matter (if any), neither was I invited to appear before any such Committee to defend myself. It was like a decision fully signed, sealed and delivered in the coven by the wizards, haters and envious few in the club against me, particularly the likes of Mr Aji Rone-Orugbo, Mr Isaac Sobotie, Mr Tsola Aragho, Dr Michael Ugbeye, Chief Jemine Akpieyi-Otuedon and two or three others who are too inconsequential to be mentioned in this press statement.

    4. What exactly was my sin, one may ask? My sin was simply because I refused to join some members of AMC who are rabid haters of Chief Ayirimi Emami, the current Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, in hating him! They simply wanted me to make their common enemy my enemy too. Not only that, these haters within the club were very uncomfortable that I was doing a damn good job as the Spokesperson of the Ologbotsere Descendants Worldwide. Some of them even reached out to me on phone, urging me to backpedal in the defence of the Ologbotsere family over the manifest divide surrounding the succession to the Warri throne. Because I disagreed with them point-blank, they hated me the more and started their evil plot against me in the club.

    5. Let me make it very clear that I did not break a single law of the AMC as enshrined in its Constitution and or Rules & Regulations. My initial reaction was to challenge the despotic action in court but on second thought, I resolved to let it go but issue this press statement for record purposes, particularly to establish the fact that I did absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or against the extant laws of AMC. I can walk very tall today vis-a-vis my over 16 years as a financially responsible member of the club. I also make bold to say that I added as much value to the club as those who joined the club at the same time as me or after me. I served selflessly as an executive member of the club for many years under at least three Chairmen, apart from serving as a member of several other ad-hoc committees of the club. I can say very boldly that I paid my dues in the AMC and it was only unfortunate that the current executives allowed themselves to be used by some old horses in the club who are full of hate for no justifiable reasons whatsoever. The club has lost some value-adding members due to the activities of these few old horses who think they own AMC. This was how Engr. Alex Neyin walked away from the club some years ago as a result of the biasness of these same set of persons in the club. Suffice it to say that it is the same Engr. Neyin who brought me into the club over 16 years ago. Perhaps I should have walked away with him when he did!

    6. It is most embarrassing and indeed unfortunate that instead of AMC to always play the role of unbiased mediator when there are internal issues in the Warri Kingdom and Itsekiriland generally, these same old horses in the club almost always influence the sitting executives to throw the hat of the club into the ring! The AMC would always take sides with one divide against the other in Itsekiriland and most times end up losing out! This is why to the larger Itsekiri, the AMC is just like any other obscure social club in Itsekiriland. The AMC has so much to learn from the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought (ILoT) if it cares about redeeming its obscure image in the scheme of things in Itsekiriland.

    7. Let me end by saying here and now that I shall continue to maintain my robust relationship with some elders and members of the club, some of whom I have known long before joining the club. For the haters in the club, I will always pray for them to have a change of heart and know that life is just too short for them to carry the burden of hate in their daily life. They know in their inner minds that they wronged me by treating me unfairly and unjustly. Be that as it may, I have forgiven them and since moved on. The membership of AMC is based on selfless service to Itsekiriland using personal resources and scarce time. I did this with AMC for 16 years, unblemished. I have several other platforms with which I am doing this before and after joining the AMC. I shall continue to add value to the Itsekiri People, Land and Crown (Itsekiri PLC) in my own little way, using other platforms available to me.

[JUST IN] Olu Of Warri: Police Arraign Ayiri Emami In Court, Granted Bail Over Alleged Invasion Of Palace

A Chief Magistrate Court in Warri, Delta State, has granted bail to the dethroned Ologbotsere, Ayiri Emami, after he was arraigned on Wednesday over alleged conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

The Warri based businessman, is accused of invading the palace of the Olu of Warri alongside others earlier this year following the passage of Ogiame Ikenwoli, the late Olu of Warri.

It was alleged that during the invasion of the palace, the ceremonial crown of the Olu, was reportedly carted away by the invaders.
The now dethroned Ologbotsere was arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing – with reference case No: CR630/2021.

The Warri based businessman, who denies involvement in the invasion of the palace, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him.

The court, however, granted him bail and adjourned the case to January 19, 2022 for further hearing.

After perfecting his bail, Ayiri who confirmed his arraignment in court on Wednesday, however accused some prominent Itsekiri chiefs including the Iyatsere of Warri, Chief Johnson Atsheghele, of being behind his ordeal.

He, however, boasted that his arraignment notwithstanding, his traducers would not succeed in stopping him from pursuing the cases he had earlier instituted in various courts challenging the selection and emergence of Ogiame Atuwatse lll as Olu of Warri.

He declared that he would pursue the case against him to a logical conclusion so as to clear his name from any involvement in the invasion of the palace.

  • We reject your decision on Ayiri, Ologbotsere descendants tell Olu of Warri

We reject your decision on Ayiri, Ologbotsere descendants tell Olu of Warri

…insist only bastards accept such pronouncement

…say Ologbotsere is a life title

The Ologbotsere descendants of Itsekiri have told the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III that Chief Ayiri Emami remains the Ologbotsere of the kingdom.

The family stated this on Thursday while reacting to the derobing of the billionaire chief by the Olu on Tuesday, October 5.

Ogiame Atuwatse III had through Chief Brown Mene, pronounced the outright abolishment of the Ologbotsere title, reducing it to a mere sobriquet.

Responding to the media reports which are already generating fresh controversy in the Kingdom, Ologbotsere Descendants, said that the Ologbotsere title cannot be abolished as doing so was unlawful and against extant laws governing the throne.

The Ologbotsere Descendants Union Worldwide made their position public after an enlarged emergency meeting held at the home of embattled Ologbotsere, Chief Ayirimi Emami on Thursday.

The Ologbotsere Descendants however unanimously passed vote of confidence on Chief Emami after a motion to that effect was moved by Chief Sam Omamamuli and seconded by O.J Nanna.

Arising from the meeting, spokesman of the Ologbotsere Descendants, Comrade Alex Eyengho, said that the family still didn’t believe that what Chief Brown Mene announced in a video that was circulating on social media is the position of the Olu.

He said that the Ologbotsere descendants would react appropriately over the purported removal of Chief Emami as Ologbotsere when it comes directly from the mouth of the Olu of Warri whom he said is a defendant in a suit instituted by Chief Ayirimi Emami challenging his enthronement.

“As you know the Ologbotsere Descendants Union Worldwide called an Emergency meeting for today. (Thursday) Of course, the main thrust of today’s emergency meeting is to react to the development from the palace of Olu of Warri Kingdom as addressed by Chief Brown Mene which came to us as a rude shock.

“When I say us, I mean the Ologbotsere family. What came out of the palace on Tuesday came to us as a rude shock. And we see it as not in tandem with extant law, not in tandem with Itsekiri culture, not in tandem with Itsekiri tradition. That is the way we see it.

“So arising from this general meeting today of the Ologbotsere Descendants which was well attended as you can see, the Ologbotsere descendents, Union Worldwide reject outrightly and absolutely the vide that came out of the palace to the effect that the Olu of Warri has derobed the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami.

“We reject that outrightly for reasons I have given to you because it is not in tandem with extant laws, not in tandem with culture and tradition of Itsekiri people.

“For that reason, we stand by and with Chief Ayirimi Emami and we passed a vote of confidence on him as the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom. The Ologbotsere Descendants Union Worldwide will swim and sink with (Chief Ayirimi Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom).

While saying that they were not averse to peace and reconciliation, the Ologbotsere Descendants spokesman, disclosed that a seven-man panel of elders from the Ologbotsere descendants has been constituted to further look into the matter by consultations, and dialogue stressing that the “Ologbotsere family is not at war with anybody.”

“However to still give room for talk, for mediation, to still give room for dialogue, the family arising from this meeting after rejecting in totality what came out of the palace, we have also set up a seven-man committee to look more into the matter with a view of creating that opportunity or leaving room for jaw jaw and not war-war.

“That Committee will talk more of way forward, that committee will consult widely, that Committee will keep its doors open for discussions, for way forward as way of getting out of this quagmire in Warri Kingdom. That’s a summary of what happened here today.

He said that the purported abolition of the Ologbotsere title vis a vis the reported title being branded as ‘nickname’ was an insult to the entire Ologbotsere descendants Union Worldwide and as far as “we the Ologbotsere Descendants are concerned was dead on arrival”.

“It is unacceptable to us and we have rejected it outrightly so I don’t want to be talking of the Ologbotsere being derobed”, Eyengho maintained.

Speaking further, Comrade Eyengho gave a graphic details of how Chief Ayirimi Emami became the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, emphasizing that “once you make titles like Ologbotsere, Iyatsere, Uwangue, Oshodi and Ojomo, it is till death that they will stop to hold such titles and nobody can remove them”.

“The Ologbotsere was made Ologbotsere on the recommendation of the family and was confirmed by the then Olu of Warri. His Majesty Ogiame IKenwoli, the 20th Warri monarch. And in Itsekiri customs and tradition, even once you give a Chief, Just an ordinary Chief, not a principal Chief a title you cannot reclaim it. The Itsekiri custom and tradition I am talking about is well captured in this book authored by retired Justice. Justice Rufus Ogbobine. He talked eloquently about itsekiri custom and tradition. “The foundation of Itsekiri Customs and Traditions” so I’m not just talking. This is a Justice of the then Bendel state. He well articulated it where he said very magnificently clear that once you are made a Chief it is till death.

Specifically, he maintained that the the only way to remove the Ologbotsere or disrobe him is through the state House of Assembly and the governor as enshrined by the extant law governing the throne, stressing that a book titled ‘The Foundation of Itsekiri Culture and Tradition’ authored by a former Justice of Bendel State, Justice Rufus Ogbobine, also captured the procedures and processes of uninstalling an Ologbotsere.

“And he specifically mentioned five principal titles you cannot just waved away. That you cannot just remove. For you to remove the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom among other titles you have to go to the government of the state. It has to pass through the State House of Assembly and it must get the imprimatur of the governor of the state.

“So it is not something you just wished away or you just mouthed or you just announced or you just pronounced that you are removing the Ologbotsere or derobing the Ologbotsere as Chief Brown Mene said it. we have said it that it is absolutely unacceptable to us and we will continue to refer to him as Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom”.

Comrade Eyengho, said that Chief Ayirimi Emami has not erred as representative of Ologbotsere descendants in his quest that the extant law in the succession to the throne of Olu of Warri must be followed”, maintaining, “And let me put it on record, the only offence, the only sin of Chief Ayivimi Emani is that he insist that law and order must be follow. He insist that due process must be follow. He insist that, look there is an extant law, let us follow it.

“And as a law abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he has gone to court. This matter is in court. It is even sub judice for anybody to make such pronouncement but I take it with a pinch of salt because the so-called pronouncement was made by Chief Brown Mene. Chief Brown Mene is not Olu of Warri Kingdom. He made the pronouncement. I did not hear it from the Olu of Warni himself. We can see the video where Chief Brown Mene purportedly made the announcement or suspended or derobed the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom is all over the social media. It was Chief Brown Mene. I have the video.

“But if you have the video where the Olu of Warri himself made that announcement please play it for me. So I take this with a pinch of the salt. I take it as a declaration from Chief Brown Mene and not Olu of Warri. It is left for the Olu of Warri to come out publicly and confirm what Chief Brown Mene said. Mind you, Chief Brown Mene is not among the first five or first ten of Chiefs in Warri Kingdom but he is the one that made the announcement. This is a point I want you to hold very strongly. It is lett for the Olu to come out to say publicly and confirm that “I sent Chief Brown Mene to made that pronouncement”. I saw and heard Chief Brown Mene made those comment and I take it with a pinch of the salt because the Olu of Warri Kingdom knows too well that this matter is in court and he is well learned person, we respect him and he knows that it will be sub judice for him to make such pronouncement because the very foundation of Chief Ayirimi Emami, the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom’s case in court is challenging the processes that led to the crowning of Olu of Warri.

“That is the foundation and he is a plaintiff in the matter, when you do that, when the matter is already in court, even before you were crowned and you now made this pronouncement either through proxy or by yourself it doesn’t work that way. Nigeria is not a Jungle. We have laws in this country and we must learn to respect our laws particularly extant laws”.

He reiterated that no true born Ologbotsere descendant “will accept this so-called disrobing of Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom.”

When told that the Ologbotsere descendants were already divided and that a section may be plotting to replace him (Chief Ayirimi Emami), Comrade Eyengho said, “in any family no matter how nuclear the family is – that’s father, mother and children, even in a family of five, there are divisions sometimes. Even among the 12 Disciples you saw Judea Iscariot at a point, even Peter at a point. So you can’t have 100 percent.

Eyengho, however maintained that majority of the Ologbotsere descendants are with Emami on his stance to uphold Itsekiri customs and traditions, saying “over 96, 97% of the Ologbotsere descendants are with Chief Ayirimi Emami on this matter and I dare say this, no true born Ologbotsere Descendant will sell his family for a pot of porridge.

“I am yet to see that Ologbotsere descendant that would come out and clap, applaud this pronouncement from Chief Brown Mene. I’m yet to see anyone who will applaud it because this is not an insult to Chief Ayirimi Emami but an insult to the entire Ologbotsere descendants Union Worldwide.

“This is not about Chief Ayirimi Emami. That’s what some people fail to understand. They think oh it is Ayirimi Emami they are having issue with. No. They are having issue with Ologbotsere descendants Union Worldwide by trying through the back door to put the lyatsere above the Ologbotsere when in the extant law it is very clear that in terms of hierarchy, the Ologbotsere is number one followed by lyatsere number 2, Uwangue number 3, Ojomo number 4 while Oshodi number 5 like that. Ologbotsere is the chairman of Olu Advisory Council and also the chairman of Warri Kingdom Council of Chiefs.

“So those doing these, are those trying to support the personal battle of Chief Johnson Amatserunleghe, the current Iyatsere of Warri who want to, by all means become number one and make Ologbotsere number 2 against the extant laws. That is what is happening”, he concluded.

Present at the enlarged meeting were the various head of the Ologbotsere family including the Secretary-General of the family, William L.A. Anukun; Otsemaye Uwanikone, Wilson E. Mene, Besidane Esimaje, Alex Eyengho, O.J. Nanna and Mr. Samuel B.O Okorodudu among others.

Only God can remove Ayiri as Ologbotsere, family dares Olu of Warri

    …says it’s a lifetime title
    … it’s a family title

    Emman Ovuakporie

Comrade Alex Eyengho, the spokesman of the Ologbotsere Descendants of Warri Kingdom has declared that only God can remove Chief Ayirimi Emami as the Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom and will occupy the title till old age and death.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports Eyengho also described the Iyatsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Johnson Amatserunleghe and others who said the Ayiri has been suspended as Ologbotsere as jokers who should be ignored.

He said: “As of today, Chief Ayirimi Emami is the de facto and the Dejure Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom and it remains so. He is functioning effectively in that capacity despite the fact that he is in court.

However, that does not mean at any point in time, those who really want genuine peace and reconciliation cannot bring anybody to the table to talk”.

Asked if the new Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III can appoint another person as Ologbotsere, he said “Ologbotsere title is a family title; it is not Ayiri Emami’s title. It is a family title and it is the family that recommended Chief Ayirimi Emami to the then Olu of Warri who now confirmed it”.

“The Olu of Warri cannot make anybody Ologbotsere without recourse to the Ologbotsere family. He will only make a request to the family that he wants to give out Ologbotsere title”.

“The family will now do internal screening on their own and then present a candidate. That was what was done and that was how Chief Ayiri was presented to then Olu of Warri who now ratified and adopted the decision by the family. Once an Ologbotsere title is given to somebody, it is till death”.

“The person only stops being Ologbotsere if he dies. It is not a tenured title. It is till death. Nobody can remove or suspend him because it is a family title”.
