    Baba Suwe’s son reacts to viral video of dad’s corpse

    Adesola Omidina, one of the children of late veteran actor Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe who passed away on Monday, has reacted to the viral video circulating the social media of the father’s corpse.

    TheNewsGuru reports that, the video which went viral after the actor’s death has been criticised by many and tagged as ‘inappropriate’.

    Baba Suwe died in his home in Ikorodu on Monday, aged 63.

    Adesola whose father corpse went viral, speaks on the issue via his instagram page, he wrote:

    As the son of the VETERAN ACTOR ‘Late Babatunde Omidina “Babasuwe’

    I am genuinely issuing this statement to denounce and condemn the video (s) about babasuwe death that has been wrongly posted!

    The Nollywood, Tampan, the Government, Prophets, family and fans has been supportive in their own ways.

    I hereby tender an apology to all the groups, people and family affected!

    Again, please disregard any inappropriate “Video” circulating in social media.

    Yoruba comic actor, Mr Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe died on Monday, according to a statement by one of his children, Adesola Omidina.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Baba Suwe became popular became more popular after he featured in Iru Esin, produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997.

    However, he began acting in 1971 but came into limelight after he featured in a movie titled, Omolasan, a film produced by Obalende.

    Baba Suwe had featured and produced several Nigerian movies such as Baba Jaiye jaiye, a movie that featured Funke Akindele and Femi Adebayo, the son of the veteran actor Adebayo Salami.

    In 2011, he was accused of cocaine trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, an allegation that was described as false and defamatory by the ruling of the lagos high court of law.

    TNG reports his solicitor was the late Bamidele Aturu, a Nigerian lawyer and human right activist.

    Born on August 22, 1958 in Inabere Street in Lagos Island where he grew up, Baba Suwe hailed from Ikorodu local government area of Lagos State.

    He had his primary education at Jamaitul Islamial Primary School in Lagos and Children Boarding School, Osogbo before he proceeded to Adekanbi Commercial High School in Mile 12, Lagos state but obtained the West African School Certificate from Ifeoluwa Grammar School in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, southwestern Nigeria.

    Adesola, first son of the comic actor, who broke the news of his father’s death via Instagram, stated that other details on the passing of the comic legend will follow shortly.

    “This is to announce the sudden death of my father, Mr Babatunde Omidina. Other details will follow shortly,” he stated.
